Deg leppard-это группа которая ведёт меня по жизни! Их умение дружить и поддерживать друг друга в трудную минуту просто восхищает. Я очень бы хотел иметь таких друзей . А Фил Коллег просто ЛУЧШИЙ!
I've always been a Def Leppard fan, but what truly impressed me about Phil was his versatility and attention to detail. I heard an interview he gave shortly after Adrenalize was released and he said that Steve had already written a good bit of the album before he died. So, Phil actually took the time to go through and record Steve's parts as he would have played them. He was familiar enough with Steve's style to do that. That's superstar level stuff right there.
In my opinion this musician has played with those hands some of the best guitar parts and harmonies in the history of music. We should all be grateful of Mr Phillip Collen.
Saw both Joe Satriani and Phil jam together on the G3 tour and it was incredible! Love how Joe and Phil are good friends and will do fun projects let these for us fans. We need more of it! I love Phil's version of 1988 just wish it were longer!🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Every time I watch Phil Collen play I always think the same thing: “I need to buy a Jackson.” Phil has one of the best looking guitar collections ever.

He may not get credit for playing as good as he does, but he isnt even close to as good as he thinks ! And Vivian could smoke him if allowed to - he is much better but not allowed to show it
I always love the melodies, restraint and musicianship that draws you into Phil's playing, that is a massively difficult thing to do as a player. The very point of playing is to make people listen and keep the listener entertained from start to finish. These are the lesson's I learn as a player from Phil. Its why Def Leppard a legends. Fantastic all round playing from two of my all time favourite guitarists. Perfection!
Always loved the quality of Def Leppard's sound.. so magic, clear, particular.. thanks Phil for sharing and you all guys for keep making us feel ALIVE 🤘🏽
Every time I see Phil play, I will always think of the time I saw them and Bryan adams tour together in Nj at the baseball stadium. I was front row directly in front of Phil. I kept giving him a guitar strumming motion as a hint to throw a pick my way. After his amazing solo, he threw one of his metal picks at me. Don’t know how I managed to catch it with everyone near me but I caught it and still have it to this day. Great memory that will last a life time. Thank you Phil. You’re the best out there. Hands down. Have been a Lep fan since the early 80s. Also met bryan at his tour bus after the show and he signed my program as well. Couldn’t have had a luckier day :)
I have always liked Phil's playing and the one thing I can say about him is he has his own distinctive sound and style which not many guitarist can claim .I think having your own sound is more important than how good you can play but that's just my humble opinion ..And on another note I often wonder how Steve Clarks sound and style would have developed over the years .I like Def Leppard for all sorts of reasons but the biggest reason apart from the music is all the members seem like nice genuine down to earth guys that never got lost in show business ps I heard a 12 bar boogie measure in this video and even I could have played that bit lol Regards Gibby
I prefer Steve’s playing and tone, and how he always played for the song (not saying that Phil doesn’t, because he does; I’m just not a fan of his uber-saturated tone). He had a tasty, blues-based style, but didn’t stick with strictly pentatonics, either. He was trained on classical guitar and that was evident via his melodic sense.
Love his custom Jackson, love his playing on this. The entire Def Leppard band have kept in excellent physical shape over the years. It seems to have enabled them to play with the same vigor as they did 40 years ago! Probably the best of the big 80s bands to see on tour in 2022 in terms of getting a quality live show near the same level you would have gotten it had you seen them long ago... I can not say the same for Bon Jovi, Poison, GnR or sadly even Metallica. All those mentioned bands, some of them still very good live, have just lost a little something from their peek, but Def Leppard seem to stay at peek. It's quite amazing.
I have to ask the question “ Why is this guy never considered when it comes to doing countdowns for great guitarists?” Phil you are amazing and you absolutely nailed this.
