Great video, the lock nut to flange measurement , the drawing shows the line in the middle of the thickness of the flange, did you subtract that ? Is the erd the rim manufacturer give the correct one to use, with or with out nipple ? Trying to plan a wheel build, thanks

Shimano has a database for each of their hubs that they manufacture,but older hub models are not listed.

Does this measuring concept apply to a trike hollow hub? Trike hollow hub doesn’t have an axle. It’s flat on both sides. Any thoughts?
Park Tool has a worksheet for answers that you can calculate for the correct spoke lengths.

my hub doesnt have a nut on either side its a cook bros hub

Since this is America, I measure in inches. 10 5/8 is most common spoke I use on a prewar American balloon tire bike with 26” tires.
all bikes are measured with the metric system and the conversion is not accurate enough in most cases.
