Live: Nicola Sturgeon resigns as First Minister of Scotland

After more than eight years as First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon is set to announce she is standing down from the position.
The Scottish National Party leader is expected to make the announcement at a hastily-arranged news conference in Edinburgh this morning.
It is not yet clear if she will stand down immediately, or continue in the role until a new SNP leader is elected.
