I have a lot of the flex tools and about 7 batteries. After two years only one battery failed. It just started blinking all lights and does not charge. They replaced it no problem. I use them all the time, many large projects, lots of abuse.
    Maybe a bad batch?
Been very happy so far with the tools. We use all Milwaukee tools in my commercial cabinet company, so I do have experience with other brands.
Just wish flex would come out with more tools!

I have 12 batteries and i carry all my batteries in their small bag, the bottom of my bag is drenched in coolant and 3 of them no longer charge. I love flex but yeah their batteries are having issues. When they work they are a beasts however if they arent reliable thats a problem. I do have to admit, idk how many are leaking and even though some are leaking they are still working, idk for how much longer though.

Same happened for me which is why I’m here. My 5 AH started blinking after it went down. Just a few days later, my 2.5 went down to two bars and will not charge. What are the odds unless it’s a design flaw. They are only a year and a half old. I hate to see this because I’m a Flex tool fan boy but…

Already had two guys burn up the "turbo"drills
We got 4 Metabo HPT 36V's for same price as 1 1/2 Flex drills and the flex have grease all over them in shipping and batteries die under a yr
    No ones buying these
Lowes should cut their losses and carry MHPT full line of 36V tools like they do with the nailers/fasteners and the Bosch line
Both are true contractor grade and have proven longevity and durability

Because you're a smart guy I figured you know that the first run in 2021 were we're not good manufacturing dates for Flex tools even though into 2023 these older Flex products sold at Lowe's for a much reduced price. I bought several of these tools and have had a number of the batteries returned at no additional expense to me other than my time on the phone albeit, Flex does not have High numbers of staff Fielding the phone calls, they're pretty smart on their products. That has been my experience. 1-10....8-9+ rating.

These batteries haven't had much use, but were working pretty well while in use . Didn't fill out any warranty or anything so probably be headed to recycling bin.😢

Rigid is commercial quality and commercial price. I have Milwaukee batteries, and use them daily for work and they are absolutely indestructible. I feel like Milwaukee tools are not very reliable but they have the world's best quality control on their battery packs. The DeWalt and Makita batteries we had before switching to Milwaukee were at least 5 years old and were still working perfectly. I had Ryobi a long time ago and the batteries were only 50% capacity when new, so it was like they used recycled batteries from the trash. I won't ever buy a Ryobi again after seeing their new batteries being an actual fake scam. I'm very nervous to try Flex after all the stories of the "Black Goo" leaking out.

This summer the flex quarter inch impact was on sale for $100, came with two 2.5 battery and I bought several of the quarter inch impact, three to be exact. Then the turbo hammer drill went on sale for $119, purchased two of those and they came with two battery packs each, a 2.5 and a 5 amp hour. All but one case, the batteries are leaking and I haven't used two of them, the quarter inch impact and the Turbo drill. There is definitely something going on at the manufacturing level to promote these products. When I registered I also helped a friend of mine registered his ego powered weed eater, same manufacturer but I hear no problems yet from my good friend with the weed eater. I will stay objective and report back if any news comes in.

Yeah, I think expectations may be a bit high for a 2 year old product line launched during a global pandemic with crushing supply chain issues. That said teardowns of their newer stacked batteries show them to be way overbuilt at a much higher standard than the older ones. I'm not a power tool expert but I've taken apart enough electronics to recognize parts quality. So they are certainly putting money into product improvement. But it may take a few years to get kinks out as with any new product line.

@@DiligentDave1966That's good information. I didn't know that people have had bad Milwaukee batteries. I hadn't heard that before. My experience has been that Milwaukee may have the best battery quality control and onboard circuits out of any company. We use Milwaukee tools for 10 years at my company and I've never heard any of the crew claiming that they had an issue with a charger or M12 or M18 battery. The Milwaukee tools fail frequently, and are not reliable tools at all. But their batteries seem to be military spec quality. I still have my batteries from 2010 and they are still working fine. I've never had any that suddenly degraded like I've seen with all my Ryobi batteries. (I won't ever buy a Ryobi again). I wish Milwaukee would make their electronic switches and circuit boards more durable.
