    Clarification: Elemental Activity Surge and Activity Overcharge do NOT stack. So if it’s over charged rocket and solar surge for the activity. You get 25%, not 50%

    Quick note on divinity and titan banner shield, divinity is also still adding a greater than 0 damage number while typically the shield is doing strictly 0 damage. So not only is divinity adding utility it is also adding just a bit of damage to the teams overall damage to a boss.

    Column 3 stacking is one of the more subtle points that can really help you reach new heights of damage. Especially in groups where seasoned allies will usually have columns 1 and 4 covered for you, and are able to teach you how to set up column 2. Even a lot of veterans don't know that colum 3 stacks with itself, so keeping that "miscellaneous" column stacking in mind is one of the biggest things I teach people when I do raid sherpas.

    So a correction the the 1 surge+ well being 35% buffs in destiny are multipliable so a 10% and a 25% isn’t 35% it would be 37.5% A easy way to calculate this is 3x surge 1.22 emp rift is 1.20 you multiply them and you get 1.464 so you get a 46% damage increase and not a 42% damage increase

    • @Tomahulk
      @Tomahulk Год назад +5

      More people should probs see this lol. All 4 columns fallout shows stack with eachother multiplicatively. Eg: lumina + 1x surge + tractor = 1.35*1.1*1.3 = 1.93

    • @Tomahulk
      @Tomahulk Год назад +3

      Adding together would be 75% increase, but in reality it's a 93% increase

    • @Tomahulk
      @Tomahulk Год назад +2

      @demoniob4019 It still changes the damage numbers, though. And at least 90% of damage testing videos & spreadsheets include tractor. Yes it debuffs the enemy, but it still counts as a damage increase for yourself, since you're literally doing more damage because of it

    Sentinel shield also makes a lot of orbs assuming you're actually getting shot at. Using Ursa furiosa in GMs is a super good way to play support and be a little more aggressive than dropping a well and sitting in it.

    • @VernCarson
      @VernCarson Год назад +6

      @@poptartninja9496 this is a solid no. ursa makes your fireteam basically immune to almost all damage and generates orbs like crazy. fuels surge mods, another ursa, take your pick. it's lost some favor but it's still wicked good

    • @poptartninja9496
      @poptartninja9496 Год назад

      @VernCarson In a damage phase for any boss, well of radiance drops 3 orbs instantly. This is 30s of armor charge at minimum so there's no point saying Ursa is for surges. Well is also only 15% less damage than sentinel shield buff, which means less damage for the 5 people doing damage compared to the 6 with well. Also, there's plenty of encounters where you take damage from multiple directions, in which case shield cannot compete with well. And if you do take damage behind a sentinel shield, it doesn't regen your hp like well does. Sentinel shield is easily one of the worst supers in the game and if you think it's not, you're kidding yourself

    • @VernCarson

    This a very well made video and is perfect for letting people know how damage strats are made and optimized but it is leaving out something most people avoid doing because its hard and thats swapping. For the most part the reason why rockets are so busted in our current meta is because when put into a swap rotaion they have reasonable total damage while also having the highest dps in the game when pair with ghorn. Obviously this type of dps is not nessasary for anything other than master raid 1 phases, speedrunners and carrying bad teamates in normal raids but it is how you max your damage.

    Anywhoozles... yes I found this very helpful. While I already knew everything, it's helpful to see it laid out and explained fully so you can see what to pick and choose in most situations. Also holy shit! I had ZERO idea that Banner Shield gave THAT big of a dmg buff... nor that lumina was actually superior to well... thats crazy.
    Ooh also PS even the "Div Bitch" can pull some damn good numbers if they spam fire rather than hold fire. It procs its secondary ability and shatters the shield far quicker which does some pretty good, as well as applying the shield faster too... if your team times their shots they can get a reload or grenade throw, well drop, etc in while the tap fire does its thing then go back to firing and put out some great damage. I always amaze people at the dmg output I can do when I'm running Div for the group and spam tap firing. It's pretty crazy.

    Correction: Buffs are multiplicative, not additive. Multiplied together you get:
    Radiant + 1 Surge: 1.25 * 1.1 = 1.375 (+37.5%)
    Radiant + 2 Surges: 1.25 * 1.17 = 1.4625 (+46.25%)
    Radiant + 3 Surges: 1.25 * 1.22 = 1.525 (+52.5%)
    This applies to all 4 "columns" as well as all stacking buffs in "column 3", e.g.:
    Radiant + 3 Surges + BnS + Boss Spec: 1.25 * 1.22 * 1.35 * 1.0777 = 2.21871487 (+121.87%).

  • @roundraccoon6141
    @roundraccoon6141 Год назад

    Small clarification. Buffs/Debuff/Surge stacking is multiplicative and not additive for instance 10% surge buff and 25% well buff the bonus is not 1.1+1.25=1.35 or a 35% buff, instead is it 1.1*1.25=1.375 or a 37.5% buff.
    Not a big difference with only a couple of buffs, but the more things you have stacking together the crazier the difference becomes. The multiplicative system is mainly why melee stacking in the past used to be really op and still is really strong.

In nightfall and dungeons I feel like there's better damage utility to come from just using weaking grenades or tether and keeping your 2nd or third member's heavy slot open for something like sleeper or gally. Most exotic boosts i feel require some thought on whether or not that's what you want your weapon exotic slot going into.

    The different buff/debuff categories stack multiplicatively, they’re not additive. So Well + Tether wouldn’t be 25% + 35% = 60%, it would be 25% * 35% = 69%. It’s why damage stacking got out of hand back in the hand, causing Bungie to change how everything worked
    Good example from the spreadsheet is Cold Comfort with Explosive Light, Tether, Well, Ballidorse, and Surge mods. You get 25% * 25% * 35% * 22% * 10% = 283%, almost triple your base damage

    love the video, do think weapon perks should be column 1 (since that's where all the calculations start before any buff or debuff is applied), and column 3 should only be for miscellaneous damage buffs from armor

    [Edit: I was Wrong] So wait, Boss Spec and Vorpal Weapon are in the same column so they do NOT stack!? 😮 How many years have I been wasting my weapon mod ...
    [Edit: ok, so this is why you shouldn't comment mid-video. Fallout says like 30 seconds later that column 3 buffs DO stack 😅]

    I think one more item worth mentioning would have been the seasonal artifact. I guess that would go in column 3 and in the activity modifier. I believe whichever anti-champion weapon perk chosen gives the same buff as an activity modifier, but of course, doesn't stack with activity modifier.

    Honestly Sentinel shield is overlooked. In a 6 man activity it would be adding more damage than is lost by it not being used; assuming everyone’s damage is consistent.

      Grab a calculator and multiply 1.4 x 5. That’s your 5 teammates and the 40% buff you’ll be providing. Then do 6 x 1.25. That’s all 6 in a well doing damage. It’s quite literally useless.

    • @poptartninja9496
      @poptartninja9496 Год назад +1

      I would actually argue the exact opposite my dude. If the team's damage is inconsistent via players performing poorly, that person dragging far behind should be div, or tractor, or tether, and only after that then maybe sentinel. It's still bad damage because you think you're getting the 40% but you're really only getting 15% because who doesn't bring a well buff in a raid?

    If i remember correctly, Bungie themselves mentioned in a twap that Weapon surges and Elemental surge doesn't stack at all, so having a Solar bow in a Solar and Bow surge won't make it deals 50% more damage or something like so

    To the Lucky Pants fanatics, a warning. When using Lucky Pants with Gunslinger, you will likely end up having some weird glitch happening to you if you use surge mods. Apparently, there is too much stuff happening in the hud if you use radiance, chain of woe, eta, and it will cancel out or even lock you out from extra damage. Very inconsistent, and Bungie hasn't fixed it in months. If you don't want to deal with that, I recommend using other subclasses such as Void or Arc. Stasis is kinda fun if you use shatter for damage.
    Edit: spelling and grammer.

    I was under the assumption (and had been told multiple times by others, didn't bother to check for myself) that divinity's 15% debuff overrides any 30% debuff for as long as the bubble is up, is that not the case?

    Also, for all div players; run a auto loading/lasting impression rocket
    Fire rocket, swap to div n the rocket wont detonate till you got div bubble up, & when you hear the rocket load, swap, fire, go back to div
    I out dps my firetime doing things

    • @life-destiny1196
      @life-destiny1196 Год назад

      This is only a good idea if you're using the (recently discovered) quickswap tech to make sure the div bubble doesn't fall off. Otherwise you can't get enough handling and the bubble will fall off, which will annoy your fireteam.
      There's also not really any particular reason to use Lasting Impression, just pack an Explosive Light or BnS rocket instead (granted ALH/BNS doesn't exist, you'd need to use Reconstruction Apex; ALH/Explosive Hothead would be an easier alternative in this case, no need to manage a third weapon). Additionally, unless it's something like Ir Yut where the bigger hitbox is really important, it's kinda hard to justify Div over Tractor Cannon even with this tech in mind--you can do a lot of damage on triple shotgun swap and TC's debuff is bigger.

    • @spiderken3102
      @spiderken3102 Год назад

      @life-destiny1196 the point of lasting is it gives 20% more damage Nd you can have the div bubble up by the time the rocket detonates

    • @poptartninja9496
      @poptartninja9496 Год назад

      @spiderken3102 Two issues. For players that don't already do something like this, they won't be remotely fast enough to warrant dropping the div bubble for the whole team and it's a great way to make everyone mad at you. For the players like me, you already stack swap mods to shoot before the div bubble falls off, and can keep the bubble going before it breaks. Lasting impression is good on rockets that don't get ex light like hezen, but LI doesn't buff Wolfpack rounds like explosive light or BnS

    • @poptartninja9496

      @life-destiny1196 Bosses that give a major benefit to using div: consecrated mind, taniks, deathsingers, caretaker, rhulk, nezarec, and ir yut. So let's see that's GoS, DSC, VotD, RoN, KF and CE. What raids don't have major benefit to div? Oh yeah, only VoG. Saying "I don't see div being justified" sounds cool but you couldn't be more wrong. All of these bosses get better more reliable hitboxes with div and if you think a more reliable hit box isn't worth it when missing a single rocket drops 10% of your ENTIRE damage you're off your rocker

    Point of confusion: talking about columms 1-4 here referencing your dps formula gets confusing in comparison to columns1-5 for weapon traits. Especially since columns 3-5 of the weapons traita are what feeds into the col 3 miscellaneous buffs of the damage formula.
