- For its latest partnership, Seiko teams up with ocean explorer and marine conservationist Fabien Cousteau, grandson of famed underwater explorer Jacques-Yves Cousteau. Like his grandfather, Fabien Cousteau has dedicated his life to exploring the oceans and to promoting their health and conservation. Seiko will contribute to the work of the Fabien Cousteau Ocean Learning Center. For the occasion, the brand has created a dedicated series of watches, which includes the new Prospex Turtle “Save The Ocean” SRPC91K1 Special Edition. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Cousteau’s Ocean Learning Centre… no reason anymore not to be tempted.
Case: 45mm diameter x 13.42mm height - stainless steel case, polished and brushed - blackened unidirectional diving bezel (120 clicks) with blue 60-minute aluminium insert - Hardlex hardened mineral crystal - screwed steel case back - screwed crown - 200m water-resistant
Dial: gradient blue dial with wave pattern, luminous hands and indices
Movement: Seiko calibre 4R36, in-house - automatic winding - 3Hz frequency - 41h power reserve - hours, minutes, seconds, day-date indication
Strap: black silicon strap with steel pin buckle

I own the same watch. The dial is so beautiful. I put mine on a grey nato and it looks amazing.
My local jeweler calls these watches See-Kos. I have to admit, as a longtime Seiko fan that irritates the crap out of me. But they do a good job and fixed my Pulsar/Seiko last year. Lol!

Is that the box it came in, because it's not the correct save the ocean box. The correct box is black and it says Prospex save the ocean inside.

Haven't heard of anything about the Turtles being discontinued. Bigger brother of the SKX. All that's left of Seiko's production of it. We still got all the aftermarket stuff, though😁

@@chriszietz1236 - Yeah. I don't get it either🤷♂️ If the 5's are cheaper to make, then I get it🤣... Seiko trying to save a couple of bucks but, why do it to such a venerable model... it's practically their flagship watch... for all the right reasons, too. I'm on the side that feels they should've just upgraded the movement, made it hackable maybe... like Kens Turtle, and maybe release it in one or two new colors to distinguish it from the previous gen model. That's it. We were only three years away from the 25th anniversary😞

I have the Save The Ocean Shark edition Turtle that just came out. Lordy is it gorgeous. That one is gorgeous too...love the gradient dial. I might get the Samurai version.
Very nice watch. I was considering buying the same watch but decided on the SBDC053, which had the sapphire crystal and had a smaller diameter. I like the dial on the SRPC91 better though.

Cool video as always Ken, I love the Seiko divers watches and rate them along Omega, Tag Heuer and Tudor (better value than a Rolex imo) watches.
I current have four Seiko divers, 1 SKX009, 1 SKX009J & 2 7002 watches. Always looking to add to the collection :)

Unrelated to this video but have you ever tried Parker blades? I like them a lot but they may not be the best for sensitive skin.
Beautiful watch ken, love the colour of the dial and the retro style case. Not a big fan of the appearance of silicon straps although they are very comfy to wear. At the moment I am a big fan of Vostok Europe watches.

BeautyofScent I actually have an Omega and a Rolex, that I bought years ago but couldn’t afford now. I would never, ever consider working on one of those. But the Seiko’s, I’m able to add mods with no issues. Was that Archie Luxury you were talking about?

I might have to unsubscribe to your channel. It was bad enough how may shaving products I have bought after watching your videos but know you are getting me hooked on Seiko watches. I just placed a bid on EBAY for an SKX009. I might have to start a GoFundMe page to help pay for all this stuff. 😁
So just the one addiction. ❓ I think there may be more than one. But then I can't say too much, I have many more than one as well, I can't go near a bookstore without buying a book, yes I have too many watches, too much shaving gear, too many pairs of sunglasses, shoes and the list goes on. So many addictions, so little money.
