    I'd rather see these types of documentary by people living in the Country itself rather than westerners. Thank you brother.

    This festival is one of the best childhood memories I have. One of the best tradition that every child from Nesang village would cherish it. And the traditional song that always lingers in my ears.
    Thank you so much for the video. Appreciate your work.

    This is the most impressive video I have seen related to Himachal. The way Bharat is getting westernized this video becomes more important and relevant. I believe that this video should be kept by the Himachal Government as a historical treasure.
    Kudos and Big Thanks to you.

    "Mythology has no logic, if it had logic we will start analyzing the tradition." Incredibly informative video 👏

    • @indiainmotion
      @indiainmotion  6 лет назад +11

      Thanks Prerna. Personally I believe that these things (ceremonies) would have a reason behind them. Whether or not they make logical any sense in today's day and age is debatable. But the stories would be fascinating nonetheless. And that is what I'm interested in.

    • @RajatMakwana26

      I think we analyse too much now a days and some time having faith is something is better then using logic.

    I am very much pleased to watch this video as it has revived my old days when in Sept 1980 I was invited by my friend Sh. Sanam Tapchan Negi Ji and his wife Mrs Anita Negi Ji to witness this unique festival at his village Nissang. I spent then 8-9 days to be associated and part of this wonderful & unique festival of Fulaich (Ukhyaang).
    Nessang is an important village of Kinnaur Distt. who has produced IAS, IPS, Doctors, MBA (IIM), Teachers, Village Pardhan, and so many good personalities who are on my tips and contibuted a lot in uplifting of Nessang particulary the Bridge of Satluj and road to the village which further generated so many facilites to this remote village.
    I congratulate you for shooting this festival and brought on the globe. I have also seen other videos of Fulaich of other villages of Kinnaur but I give full 100 marks to this video.
    Your total presentation is highly commendable and as I commented in one of your other video of Nessang & Moorang, that you have contributed a lot in preservation of our centuries old heritage of this part of our country. This will now attract every nature loving to come and explore Kinnaur which has its own very different but loving culture/ living style.
    Thanks again with affectionate regards.

      Thanks Mr.Anil. Nesang is only one of the two villages in Kinnaur where the festival is still celebrated in this manner. I feel very lucky to have been introduced to their culture by my friend Pankaj. He just messaged me out of the blue last September inviting me to a festival in his village. And I'm so glad that I accepted.

    What an ingenious way to bring people together. Only in our traditions do worship and fun blend so beautifully.
    Thank You very much for the documentary.

    • @indiainmotion
      @indiainmotion  6 лет назад

      Absolutely. It is a great way to bring the entire community together without any distractions of day to day life. Almost all other villages have shifted the festival down to their villages, but not in Nesang. I love the way how they are very particular about maintaining their tradition.

    • @flaneur08
      @flaneur08 6 лет назад +1

      I especially like the part where two different families are obliged to maintain relations for at least three years. That leaves no time for anyone to pick fights with other families in the village.
      Also I was curious about their religion, is it a native religion or a sect of Hinduism?

    • @indiainmotion
      @indiainmotion  6 лет назад +1

      It is Buddhism mixed with Hinduism. They worship both Hindu and Buddhist deities. I find this very interesting and frankly this is how things should be. We are all seeking the same thing. But different cultures have come up with different means to understand and explain the divine truth.
      If people understand this simple concept then our would be a much simpler place.

    • @flaneur08
      @flaneur08 6 лет назад +1

      Well said! I believe religious conflicts arise only when we forget what we are seeking in the first place and think it is a numbers game.

    • @indiainmotion
      @indiainmotion  6 лет назад +1

      More than numbers game. I feel that it is ego. People want to feel superior to others. I don't mind it so much, but it gets toxic when people actively start portraying others in a bad light just to feel superior.
      I see it in some of the comments here as well and I just ignore them.

    Delighted to finally see children🙂Enjoyed all the dancing and singing! Loved the explanation of how some things don't always need logic or else traditions would simply die out from lack of reasons. 24.52 minutes I thoroughly enjoyed, I always have so much to say🙊. Thank you Saravana🌟
    P.s. tried instamojo and was declined, does it not accept foreign cards?

    • @indiainmotion
      @indiainmotion  6 лет назад

      Absolutely. The children light up the scenes wherever they get a chance. I should really try to portray the daily lives of people in my videos. I'm mostly looking for some grand scenes to show and ignore the day to day stuff. It could be just as interesting though. That is my lesson from this video.
      I'm not sure about Instamojo. Haven't really received many contributions from outside India through there.

    This was beautiful!!
    The smiles, the innocent playfulness, the respect to traditions! So well captured. It was very clear you were made to feel at home and one amongst them, from the smiles you got to capture. The views in the background were so grand as well!
    Questions:
    1. Why do the fairies have to go?
    2. Were you able to get him to narrate his poem/song about the three mountains? ( I'm really really curious)
    3. Naive and blunt question. They identify themselves as Hindu or Buddhists or they refuse to draw lines between the two?

    • @indiainmotion
      @indiainmotion  6 лет назад

      Absolutely. Everyone knows me so will there. They are comfortable with me and I'm also comfortable enough with them to actually point my camera at their faces. I'm usually very reluctant to do so.
      To answer your questions.
      1. I'm not sure that fairies/angels is the right word for those beings. The villagers believe that spirits both good and bad live in the mountains. And obviously they wouldn't want them to come down to the village. That also the reason why the villagers do not venture out into the mountains after October. They actively discourage me as well from doing the same.
      2. Nope. That thought did not cross my mind. But I did ask for the song and he said that I can find it on RUclips. He is a very tech savvy Lama and a very genuinely nice person as well.
      3. Refuse to draw a line is a strong word. The line doesn't matter to them, and that for me is more beautiful.
