I assume you are aware of the planned discontinuation of 39 models by Victorinox which has begun from Dec.2022 onward and the rumored discontinuation of all the 85mm Delmont models from Dec. 2023? I am going by the video that VicSpain posted recently on his channel naming the 39 models removed from the 2023 Victorinox dealers catalogue & some in fact are already gone from Victorinox's global website.

It's a great knife (obviously as it's Victorinox. and a alox) but I''d love to see them release a Farmer X with scissors...or this Mountaineer X with added saw - same thing in effect. In effect an alox Ranger. This would be awesome to carry with Knipex Cobra X pliers and would the kick the ass out of most Leatherman multitools.
I partially agree. The combo with the Cobra was great - to be more precise: it is great, since I do carry a cobra most of the time. BUT: I consider 4 layers to be the maximum for a still ergonomic solution. Three are even better from that standpoint. I prefer to have two thinner tools instead of one thicker one. If one takes Victorinox SAKs, the problem is the redundancy: With every one you get the two blades (or one and the awl) and then the can opener/bottle opener layer. So I modify my selection, e.g. the "Explorator", which is a 91mm Explorer with pliers instead of scissors, no knife blades and the 4mm Bitholder.
@@muxmurki1497 Actually yes I agree with you that any extra layers would make the knife too thick and to be honest the Farmer X is already on the upper limit in terms of thickness. I was thinking about carrying 2 SAKs but as you say unless you get a very expensive custom version made without blades to pair up e.g. a Pioneer X, then a custom bladeless SAK with saw, file and bit driver for example, it's difficult to do without redundancy. Your Explorator sounds great but I bet it cost over 100 £/$/Euros to have it made.
The 2023 LE should be out soon indeed, rumors say 20th Feb.

@@miklospinter Correct Electric Yellow although from the photos its more Lemon Yellow & once again no Cadet but the Hunter. I have all LE Pioneer & Pioneer X models since 2015 (except for the 2017 model) and some of the Cadets but I refuse to buy a Hunter because of the price & the size. IMO they ruined the annual LE Alox set with the Hunter, which according to my local Victorinox dealer does not sell well & he is constantly discounting it & still can't sell them long after he runs out of the Classic SD & Pioneer X LE models.
