My dad used to watch 2 of Macaulay's original Home Alone movies. He still does..but now, with me🙂. It becomes our family tradition to watch Home Alone 1&2 every Christmas season.
Man, the hell that they went through to make these classics back then that most of us were completely unaware of up until now! It's amazing to hear about what these actors and stage directors endured behind the scenes viewers take for granted!
Very few things in life bring me as much joy as watching my boys laugh and laugh to this movie (multiple times) every season. As a 90’s kid myself, it’s so nostalgic and definitely still holds up!
Man...this movie as well as part 2 made my childhood. My family had to buy both of more than once...Yes I definitely watched these movies that much. These movies were special...They created a special bond between me and my grandmother...especially when Harry spouts his angry muttering. We laughed and laughed. When I found out Joe had insisted on doing that...because he couldn't curse...I'm so glad they let him. Sitting and watching these movies at 31...instantly I'm back in those moments when my grandmother. Oh how I wish I could watch them with her now.
well he apparently really bit him hard. macaulay culkin still carries the wound in his finger but i think this is due to his real fragile skin. he is way too white. i am sure even a slight touch makes him easily bruised let alone hard bite
When you're an actor who's in character, it can be easy sometimes to get carried away with something and overdo it. I'm sure Joe Pesci didn't mean to harm Macaulay.
@GoldenPotato Macaulay himself says that he has a scar on his finger from Joe biting down too hard at one point. It might not show in the movie, but that's because they did multiple takes.
The thing I've always wondered the most about the original Home Alone movie is how Kevin was able to clean the whole house between the time after the burglars left and his mom getting home.
My favorite gag when Marv tries washing his face full of paint in the basement sink, it was attached with a battery he got electrocuted and he became a skeleton
That was a cool gag....same with another John Hughes production #TrainsPlanesAndAutomobiles when Steve Martin and John Candy drive on the wrong side on the highway and get squeezed between two giant trucks......and then turn into skeletons out of fear!
Well i mean if you new anything on directing a whole movie, you would understand how cheap that is compared to other movies and everything they did in it.
My fav in each home alone (gags) 1:Tarantula trap on marv 2: marv getting electrocuted trap 3. Boxing glove punch trap 4. Paint can trap 5. Present wrapper Trap
Here's the thing. Daniel Stern (the actor who played Marv) said that tarantulas couldn't hear very well, so he was allowed to scream on set. He also mentioned that his scream came from "Psycho".
Yes, there seems to be a discrepancy in the stories told because Chris Columbus has said that he didn’t scream. So I’m unsure who is right. I’ve mentioned this in the descriptions too. Thanks for watching.
Ok so, “Angels w/ Filthy Souls” was my favorite from the movie 🍿!! Too smart for a boy his age! Kevin, the character was too smart!! Smarter than his family! Last, he did all that stuff for attention! It’s hard being the youngest!
“You guys give up, or are you thirsty for more?” Did you know: Harry’s cartoon-like muttering had to be improvised. The director and a few other crew had to repeatedly remind Joe Pesci that he was filming a family movie, so that he wouldn’t drop a major swear. Although, when Marv drops his boot, Daniel Stern unintentionally dropped the s word.
In Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, if you look closely during the scene where Kevin throws bricks at the "Wet Bandits", you can see the makeup of the hit on Daniel Stern's forehead before the first brick hits that area, which the studio completely forgot about.
My favourite gag in this one is when Kevin looks Marve and goes “hello” and shoots him 😂 But the best one for me is in home alone 2 when Marve gets 4 bricks to the head 😂
“Im gonna give you to the count to 10 to get your ugly yella no good keester of my property or im gonna pop your guts full of led 1..2....10 ahahahahahahahahahahahah”
The effects in the movie really scared me before you made this video. This video got me into thinking that the effects in this movie is okay. Except the blood on Kevin’s finger. That is so real.
Home alone is a great Christmas classic , this movie is right up their with A Christmas story , it's a wonderful life and a Christmas Carol. Joe peisci is a great actor , playing a bumbling burglar , a New York City lawyer or a gangster. The first time i seen home alone was in December of 1991 at my uncle's house. At that time this was one of my favorite movies besides tmnt.
@@FunFactFilms When i was a kid , i thought the tmnt movies were the greatest movies ever. I saw the first 2 tmnt movies in theaters , my grandma gave me the money for the ticket. I own all 4 on dvd. I watch sometimes but they don't grab me like they used to.
Here’s another fact for you: Macaulay Culkin and Joe Pesci were somewhat enemies in real life. During filming of the first Home Alone, Pesci accidentally bit Culkin after getting too serious with his role, leaving a permanent scar. Culkin angrily berated Pesci, saying "I don't care how many OSCARS you have, or whatever - don't go biting a nine-year-old! What the heck's wrong with you!?". It is also said that Pesci intentionally avoided Culkin on set in order to make him genuinely frightened by the sight of him. Their next altercation occurred on the set of Home Alone 2 when Culkin innocently (and jokingly) asked Pesci why he never smiled. Pesci told him to shut up. The feud between Culkin and Pesci may have inspired the first "The Joe Pesci Show" skit on Saturday Night Live (where Jim Breuer portrayed Pesci); the skit ended with Pesci hitting Culkin on the head with a paint can (a reference to a scene from Home Alone) and saying that he laughed when Culkin died in a scene from My Girl.
The film was shot at New Trier Township High School, Northfield Campus where they built a two story house interior in the main gym of the F Building (PE building). A second set was constructed in the swimming pool for all the water related scenes, so the water would drain harmlessly. They built the set at New Trier because the house two miles away in Winnetka was too small for the film equipment, etc.
For clarifications on fact #19 about the spider scream, check out the details in the descriptions.

that was in home alone 2. In the original it was, "Keep the change you filthy animal."

#13 That nail might've been made of rubber, but when Stern steps on the nail, it always makes my skin crawl to this day.
The tarantula screaming was my favorite 😂😂
This movie will never get old. ❤
Iron to the face and hot doorknob.
Favorite lines: Harry: “Why the hell you take your shoes off?” Marv: “Why the hell are you dressed like a 🐔?”
My favourite bit is when Marv sticks his head through the door and the Kevin is just like “Hello” it cracks me up literally every time 🤣🤣

When Marv stands in the ornaments always gets me

You try to not while you know what i don't know

I wonder if kevin forgot to remove one of traps and one of the family members fell for the traps that kevin setted
Movie magic
Maybe Old Man Marley helped him clean it up use his shovel to clean up the feathers and the cars
my fav gag is from Daniel Stern "why you dressed like a chicken?" lol

My favourite gag was when Kevin puts a tarantula on Marv’s face and the way he screamed
Yeah it was nothing only 18million dollars
Pub G I mean considering they made almost 500 million from box office revenue alone, that’s nothing.
Well i mean if you new anything on directing a whole movie, you would understand how cheap that is compared to other movies and everything they did in it.

@@dabunnyrabbit2620 yes there was a boxing glove punch trap in deleted scenes.
I can't get enough of the spider scene! That slight pause before the hilarious scream gets me every time. I absolutely love this movie! 👍👍❤❤
I wish they didn’t tell Marv’s actor that they would putting a spider on his face, but they kept him safe by not having him scream
