I've seen it proposed that Orka have its base power at 14 and the effect to reduce its power by 5 if another card is there, so it works more like an inverse Namor instead of having the same effect. It would at least fit into a Zero/Sauron deck, though it does run into a similar issue as Giganto, where Red Skull is simply more versatile. It may just be that Red Skull is overtuned given how easy it is to negate or nullify the downside (Zero, Leech, Enchantress, Sauron, Shuri). I've started leaning toward the "lower power but -1 per enemy" tweak for Red Skull. Even if just looking at the theme factor, it feels weird that Red Skull can solo a Hulk.

A 6-cost 9/10-power card that can't be destroyed would fit pretty well into a Lockjaw or Electro deck. I think it would still be pretty niche, but it would at least have more use cases than what it currently does.
Onslaught will probably see a resurgence with the Living tribunal. Stack massive ongoing power in one lane (like ramp into dino-> iron man-> onslaught) and then redistribute the power across the 3 locations.

Pitch for an Orka fix, drop him to 8 power but if he’s alone in a lane it’s doubled. That way he maintains the shtick that he and namor present and has actual value but is still punished by everything he’s punished by now. And at 6/8 you could do cheeky things like play him in an occupied lane to dodge Shang
its totally diff, mystique copies the last ongoing effect,doesnt double it, onslaught doubles the effect of any ongoing card in the same lane, problem with onslaught is just the meta is very on reveal focus hence why cards like super skrull dont see much play as well
@@zjackshot its not the same lol mystique can only copy the last ongoing u played, onslaught literally doubles every ongoing in the same lane not just one, for example if that same lane has marvel, iron man and kazar , all 3 gets their effect doubled once onslaught is played on it , but on the downside for mystique is if the opponent disabled the ongoing effect of the card u gonna copy first then ur mystique copies nothing
@Dariel S I'm aware but people don't usually dump all ongoings in one location bc of how predictable it is, you're asking for an enchantress, a loss or a retreat meaning it's a hard climb. No one is saying they're literally the same but if you're playing in high ranks they're effectively the same bc you'll usually be playing onslaught at a location with just one ongoing as to not telegraph yout plays.

25:40 I love Spectrum and it's so sad that most of the cards that have good Ongoing effects just aren't Ongoing cards for no discernable reason. Sunspot, Titania, Daredevil, Angela, Bishop, Collector... even bad cards like Adam Warlock and Kingpin. I know it would actively make them worse because they could be countered but... Why are you making me run Quinjet in my Ongoing deck just to have decent curve??? 😢
I unfortunately opened orca the second he hit pool 4, so I tried to make it work in a deck where you stack 1 lane with things like omega red, klaw, onsaulghta and then there are potentially 2 open lanes for Namor and orca. Turns out I never played Orca. I maybe played him once in 50 games. I always played namor in a lane then tried to win my stacked lane with other 5 and 6 cost cards. 14 power was never enough to pivot and slam down in an open lane on turn 6. I always felt like there was so many ways I could lose the game slaming orca down. If they have 1 card in that open lane, it feels like they could play anything there and win. A Lizard in an open lane threatens a 1 cost she hulk to just win over your orca while attacking another lane.
@Chomsky Honk that's turn 5 and 6 to win a single lane, kinda dicey. I like the idea though. Maybe green goblin is better so you can use turn 3 to help win instead of 5.
I actually got to rank 90+ with a ramp ongoing Orka deck lol. The play I did was to either Armor one lane, play Destroyer on 5 and most people will be expecting a Spectrum but I play Orka to win the 3rd lane. If I don't draw Armor, I play Destroyer into Cosmo. I was doing fine before the current meta of Shuri and Thanos decks.
Unpopular opinion - Dr Doom is not that strong and he is not ans S tier. There are just way too many situations where adding 5 power on turn six is not enough. Go tall, not wide.
As a new player, I love these videos to get an idea of cards I don’t have access to or play against. It’s also interesting to see what’s working for me in the lower pools that seem to be weak later on so thanks for these! I’m curious if you’d ever do updated tier listings for some of these power rank tier vids. I guess there were some big nerfs and buffs that happened even since this was posted 4months ago and I’m curious if they’ve made any difference in your card ratings.
I feel Hulk needs some sort of effect like +1 or +2 for ever card of yours that your opponent destroyed during the game or something, and make another card the 6/12 vanilla drop.
14:12 the dog fence between Them on Helicarrier is basically Cozy has been playing since before release and has never struggled as much on the climb up to have certain decks, whereas snapster came after and no doubt ran the Dino helicarrier agent 13 decks to get cards he didn’t own before for fun and big numbers at the time
I think it would be interesting to see onslought as a 5 coat but with less power. Wong is 4, mystique is 3, maybe making him a 5 cost 4 power would be cool
@@dariel299 it’s really just a question of what the developers want to emphasize. But of the two I feel the reduced cost makes him a card that will be used more consistently in matches of 70 and lower.
So for Onslaught (don't play much but love him)... saw a combo I had never seen before used on me that won the game... with some location ramp and a turn 4 psylock, I got hit with a Wong, mystique, ONSLAUGHT, iron heart... he ended two locations buffed up to 33, and I was baffled as to why until I saw that it wasn't the revealing being doubled, it was the ongoing and it was insane how many times Iron Heart popped!
I feel like they will never touch Hulk because it's a starter card and it's easy to use for new players, but it would be cool to see a mechanic where he's like a 3-0 or something, and plays a 0-0 gamma radiation leak card in the same location, which buffs him +4 every turn it goes as an ongoing ability (so if you would play him on curve and without disruptions he could go 3/4, 3/8, 3/12, 3/16. Granted 3/16 is massive, but you'd need to play him on curve AND the leak card is taking one space AND he could get disrupted by Cosmo, Rogue, Enchantress or Shang Chi (which is a lot of counters). I reckon that would be quite unique.
Hey Cozy, I think Second Dinner making Infinite easier to reach trivializes and cheapens that achievement for people who've reached it prior. Moving the goalposts closer only makes reaching Infinite less rewarding and demotivates the more skilled players in the player base. I'd love to hear your opinion on the ranked changes in one of your upcoming videos.
They need to make the rewards buyable with a time delay but a bit expensive. Maybe with tokens then just leave it as is or increase the ranks. So its still rewarding but not gatekeeping forever. I hate fomo. It makes games predatory.
I feel like Agatha is great is you have wave and are at a low collection level. She guarantees boosters for herself which can help get your levels up. Decks to make her work aren't overly complicated either and can be fairly versatile with 4-5-6 cost cards. Definitely an F tier when thinking pure card power and how well it can do against the meta decks but she definitely has her uses.
I think they're going off the win-rate stats more than her actual playability. Lots of infinite rank players use her to bot their MMR into the toilet so they go up against legit low MMR players after reset.
After hitting infinite, I gave a try with try. A low cost build of 1 and 2 cost, blue marvel, America, Agatha. Play like no one has kill monger. You get a lot of cards out and was surprising decent on cubes
It'd be interesting if hulk had some mechanic for scaling up his power under certain conditions. Maybe on reveal gains X amount of power if he's played adjacent to a lane your opponent is winning? I don't know, it just feels like hulk shouldn't be outclassed by damn near every other 6 cost card in the game. I can't recall a time I've been on turn 6 and thought to myself "... But what if they have hulk?"

I still enjoy playing Leader and if you know how to set up your board (most importantly the middle lane must be available) then it guarantees a win if you have a lead unless of course there's a situation where you lose if they play high power left lane
Leader: i recently won a game with him, but i generated him from a card, and the opponent wasnt expecting it, also the stars aligned. for which statline would make him viable? Id say either 6/-1 or 6/-2, with the old effect: "copy all cards your opponent played this turn". that would balance him for normal decks i think, but it would create new problems with Mr Negative, but all in all i feel like giving up power for a push like this would feel more fair. maybe even make him 0/-2 with the effect "copy all cards your opponent played this turn, you cant play any other cards besides Leader this turn", making him work for every stage of the game, but countering the problem with mr negative(who would buff him to 0/0), making him more flexible but also functioning basically the same
I think a good fix for Leader is make his ability like Zola's, duplicate the opponent's plays at the other two locations, and maybe remove 1 or 2 power from him to balance?
my favorite thing to do with onslaught is have mystique copy his ability on patriot, works far better than having her copy patriot instead. This strat is super contingent on magik though lol
Hulk is my fav comic book character... I just started playing 3 days ago and i think hulk should be 6/15 cause hulk is strongest there is. As 12 powere hes still good but hulk should be INCREDIBLE.. 6/15 I feel is perfect imo

I’ve only been playing for a month but I stick to winning two lanes and let the opponent worry about three and I’ve been killing it but once I get galactus it’s going to be over
I actually like it when you and your co-creator line up on a lot of the calls -- yeah there's a little less back-and-forth, but that's a REALLY good sign for the balance of the game overall I feel like, and it's really interesting still because a lot of the time you guys have different reasons for them being in the same-answer-tier that they're in.
I think this card is ok, since it is like yondu but it is just target your biggest cost in hand, if the target is The Infinaut, Agata, Giganto, Destroyer, Hulk or that give advantage to opponent
What about Orka if it was a 6/14 and if another card is in this lane he gets -5. Some fun interaction with Luke cage. Both are ongoing cards too which can be nice with things like spectrum too.
Infinaut if a top card when with other cards. Moon Girl for two She-Hulks into Magic turn 5 for a 40 power drop on turn 7 is so good especially if you have a Sunspot soaking up that turn 6 power.
Death an A class?? But she hulk S. You see 1 you see both. Both are S class. Although she hulk spot should be just Hulk. The devs just followed Disney's lead on what is to be pushed. Gotta keep that princess factory happy. Apart from SOME galactic level characters. Hulk is the strongest, making hulk a 6/12 vanilla is just an insult.
8:47 I don’t think that’s a fair way to rank Galactus. Because Knull is so strong doesn’t mean that Galactus is. Obviously Galactus is strong, but he can be wrecked by a lot of common cards
How about Leader plays a random card at each location you opponent plays a card? Or maybe Leader for every card your opponent plays at the other 2 location add a card with the same cost randomly.
I think the best thing for Leader would be to make him a 4-cost. His ability got really specific, and hard to use, AND relies on prediction, so it would be best to change his function from an end-game power play to a mid-game strategy play. Being a 4-cost would also reduce the commitment to specific plays, making it less of a risk to play him at all.
A massive buff for Arnim Zola would be if he automatically destroyed the last card you played. It would stop him from always choosing card like Wong in a Wong'd lane. That's why I love Taskmaster so much. Anxiety free card right there.

ive won so many games with ramp to leader and odin lol...a few wongs too ive stolen entire squads. you just have to ease into the two right locations

I like Onslaight. Onslaught+Ironman+Omega Red in a single lane has won me so many games.
It'd be interesting if hulk had some mechanic for scaling up his power under certain conditions. Maybe on reveal gains X amount of power if he's played adjacent to a lane your opponent is winning? I don't know, it just feels like hulk shouldn't be outclassed by damn near every other 6 cost card in the game. I can't recall a time I've been on turn 6 and thought to myself "... But what if they have hulk?"

Tip for leader, ramp him out early and put him in the right lane then Zola him to others. Old leader :)
I still enjoy playing Leader and if you know how to set up your board (most importantly the middle lane must be available) then it guarantees a win if you have a lead unless of course there's a situation where you lose if they play high power left lane
Leader: i recently won a game with him, but i generated him from a card, and the opponent wasnt expecting it, also the stars aligned. for which statline would make him viable? Id say either 6/-1 or 6/-2, with the old effect: "copy all cards your opponent played this turn". that would balance him for normal decks i think, but it would create new problems with Mr Negative, but all in all i feel like giving up power for a push like this would feel more fair. maybe even make him 0/-2 with the effect "copy all cards your opponent played this turn, you cant play any other cards besides Leader this turn", making him work for every stage of the game, but countering the problem with mr negative(who would buff him to 0/0), making him more flexible but also functioning basically the same
I think a good fix for Leader is make his ability like Zola's, duplicate the opponent's plays at the other two locations, and maybe remove 1 or 2 power from him to balance?

my favorite thing to do with onslaught is have mystique copy his ability on patriot, works far better than having her copy patriot instead. This strat is super contingent on magik though lol

I consider that infinaut is an A, just for the deck with she-hulk and psylocke, with those 3 cards un tour hand on turn 4 you have the win secured
Something i thought about for Ultron would be Make it a 6/5 and make he gain +2 power for each Drone on board
Spectrum I think has the surprise factor, but I think that’s mostly because I always forget she exists.
Hulk is my fav comic book character... I just started playing 3 days ago and i think hulk should be 6/15 cause hulk is strongest there is. As 12 powere hes still good but hulk should be INCREDIBLE.. 6/15 I feel is perfect imo

I’ve only been playing for a month but I stick to winning two lanes and let the opponent worry about three and I’ve been killing it but once I get galactus it’s going to be over
I’d like to see the update for new balance changes to cards.
I actually like it when you and your co-creator line up on a lot of the calls -- yeah there's a little less back-and-forth, but that's a REALLY good sign for the balance of the game overall I feel like, and it's really interesting still because a lot of the time you guys have different reasons for them being in the same-answer-tier that they're in.
Please try the mining for worldship deck - Scarlet Witch, Wong, Mystique, Odin. Would love to see the grind for it if possible
I think this card is ok, since it is like yondu but it is just target your biggest cost in hand, if the target is The Infinaut, Agata, Giganto, Destroyer, Hulk or that give advantage to opponent

What about Orka if it was a 6/14 and if another card is in this lane he gets -5. Some fun interaction with Luke cage. Both are ongoing cards too which can be nice with things like spectrum too.
Infinaut if a top card when with other cards. Moon Girl for two She-Hulks into Magic turn 5 for a 40 power drop on turn 7 is so good especially if you have a Sunspot soaking up that turn 6 power.
Death an A class?? But she hulk S. You see 1 you see both. Both are S class. Although she hulk spot should be just Hulk. The devs just followed Disney's lead on what is to be pushed. Gotta keep that princess factory happy. Apart from SOME galactic level characters. Hulk is the strongest, making hulk a 6/12 vanilla is just an insult.

Agatha is the best 6 drop. It's the only card that plays the deck for you. No other card does that.

How about Leader plays a random card at each location you opponent plays a card? Or maybe Leader for every card your opponent plays at the other 2 location add a card with the same cost randomly.
Venom and Knull just a great combo. KNull a high S for me.
Why not let Orca and Namor get a bonus of being played on flooded lands and they get their ongoing effect if done that way.

I think the best thing for Leader would be to make him a 4-cost. His ability got really specific, and hard to use, AND relies on prediction, so it would be best to change his function from an end-game power play to a mid-game strategy play. Being a 4-cost would also reduce the commitment to specific plays, making it less of a risk to play him at all.
A massive buff for Arnim Zola would be if he automatically destroyed the last card you played. It would stop him from always choosing card like Wong in a Wong'd lane. That's why I love Taskmaster so much. Anxiety free card right there.
