The nib can be easily removed if you hold it around its shoulders with your thumb and index finger. And there is a groove in the feed to adjust the nib properly along with it. The problem is that it not as prominent as the sports or like the Twsbi Ecos. I just noticed today after disassembling it for the first time. Will post some pictures on Instagram and let you know.
Reviewing Perkeo was the camera sound gourmet pen's cameo? I'm so sorry, coming from italian I can't divide into syllabes correctly in english, I hope I did it almost right. By the way, during the video, at 14:53 you really hear what seems like a camera shot sound. Re/vie/wing Per/keo 5 was the ca/me/ra so/und 7 (not sure about sound and in reality, not sure about everything)) Gour/met pen's Ca/meo? 5
I thought the nib was nbr 6 size ? A lightweight pen but very comfortable to hold, in my opinon. I had to work on the tine gap, but it writes well, with a little spring in the nib, which makes such a difference. No clip available, as yet, and as the cap is about 1mm bigger diam than the Classic Sport, theirs may not fit. Seems value for money to me, I paid GBP16 in a UK high street shop. (17Euros+-).
I've just tried one out as I like the design very much but the grip was too wide so uncomfortable for me. Kaweco Sport and Lamy Safari grips are really fine. Also writing is not so smooth with the Perkeo and lines are thinner at least on the one I tried.
They also exist as F nibs. And i think they are the same as the "Online"-company, because they share the same section thread design as Online, because they are not flush at the cartridge end.
Got one of these a while back. I had high hopes but was unfortunately a bit disappointed. I like the nib, but I just can't take to this pen like I did the sport. For whatever reason this pen feels cheap compared to my safaris (perhaps it's the barrel shape given the material is the same), though not as cheap feeling as the Kakuno (and the Perkeo has a better nib). No problems at all with my chrome nib, seems I was lucky.
In a german review of a Kaweco Perceo Old Chambray (the variation in blue and white) it was explained, that the nib is pressed in, so you can't remove nib and feed. If the nib isn't ok and they have to exchange it from the factory, you'll get the whole grip peace including nib and feed, because it isn't made to be taken apart. Please don't try, because that destroys the Pen. If you have an issue like misalignment, contact Kaweco customer service. They do a good job and may well help you out.
This review isn't complete though, we need an overview regarding its functionality as the snorkel. In all seriousness, it looks like a really nice pen for people who enjoy the pale color style.
My Pilot stargazer has the same issue where it rotates when capped, yet being a snap-off cap. This led to, exactly as you said, unscrewing the section when I first received the pen. Lol However, because it was new that actually ended up being convenient as the next thing I did was insert the cartridge. Now its no problem for me, and is, in fact, my favorite pen I own! (though my collection is rather limited) Also, If anyone is wanting a stargazer, i'd suggest buying from Japenese sellers on ebay because they sell for around $90. Far less than the $150 - $180 retail price.
It's actually a question I have in mind for quite some time (is it the correct expression ?), what can explain a feed shape ? Besides of the ink channel and the material, obviously... And so, what characteristics would make a very good feed ? I've asked the same question to Brian Goulet for this week's Q&A. // Are those kids being killed in the background or what ???? // There's a weird changing of colours tones between 8'51 and 8'55, you're going from warm tones to cold greyish tones. It's not the first time I notice that thing in your new "setup" video. // As always, thanks for this review. I hope you'd understand my frenchie English... Love from France to both of you ! Marjorie
Also I have a question concerning nib tuning. I got a Parker 51 and it was resacked and fills great. When I try to use it, it is so dry to the point where it only writes perpendicular to the page. Any suggestions?
sbrebrown Thanks. I actually watched your disassembly and took it apart. There was just some old ink that was gluing the tines together. It works perfectly now. Thanks so much for having great instructional videos.
"Hey There!" I Say-oh! I enjoyed your Perkeo Review, "Bye" for now The "Hey There" and "Bye" should be read in Stephen's voice for the full effect. Thank you for the good and honest review. I have been looking at these since I saw them first come out and have been waiting to test drive before I pick one up. Have a great week!
When I saw these on ebay for the first time I misread Perkeo as "perché" which means "why" in Italian. I think I misread it that way because as soon as saw these models I thought "WHY on earth would anybody want a pen in those colors with that faceted barrel?"
I saw that black and pink Perkeo and immediately thought about John Waters. Imagine my amusement when I discovered the name of the pen was "Bad Taste."
Potato Salad, a Haiku Potatoes, mayo, an egg, salt & pepper with a bit of mustard You're welcome. :) Thanks for the opportunity Stephen! ♥ I don't have a kaweco yet, saving for the liliput :D
Hi, I'm Galileo I live in the city Rio I'll love this Parkeo Not the best, but it will have to do for know. Thank you very much for this honest review, Stephen Brown! I have been searching all over RUclips after a review of this pen ever since I heard of it the first time. The Kaweco Parkeo really seems like a good entry-level fountain pen. I would love to have one. :)
in which world perchè rimes with perkeo? (reading perchè like the italian word it is, I don't know if it is used in other languages with other pronunciation)
8paolo96 i believe perché is pronounced perké, with the excamation Oh in the next line you have a perfect rhyme for the pen name perkeo which ive probably mis spelled again. the fact that the rhyme is split between two lines and in fact two sentences appeals to me. Stephen will choose his own winner but i liked this.
Wow, I go to the end of your video. I got four Perkeos from Fontoplumo, two fine nibs and two mediums. All four wrote beautifully.(And NO, I am not entering the giveaway. of course.)
Like the video, Mine railroaded too, but let us Ride again, this rodeo. 🌻 I double checked this on a haiku checker, let me know what ya think! As per my name, yes I got into fountain pens as a way to cope with a bad break up but I'm doing better now, partly thanks to our awesome pen community on YT and reddit. Sending love regardless from nyc, USA ♥️
No haiku here. In Australia to "perk" is to vomit; and to me, the colours are consistent with the definition. Thankyou for the review nonetheless. I'll stick with kakuno (interestingly to "Kak" is to poo, seems to be a naming theme developing here that I'm not so fond of)
Haikus are easy But sometimes they don't make sense Give me Perkeo Convenient posting since I just got my Delike brass kaweco ripoff pen today. I don't really love the feel of my sport, it's just too cheap feeling, the cap wiggles when screwed down just enough to bug me. The brass delike is about one centimeter longer so it takes a standard international conveter, with a nicely made plastic insert in a VERY thin brass cap that really keeps the pen's balance right. I'm not hugely in love with the EF nib from the factory, I prefer kaweco nibs, but it's a standard #5, and writes nicely after a bit of tuning. Best part, $14. comes with a kaweco classic style clip that kind of sucks. I really don't understand why Medium is the standard nib size in the west. So many westerners write on AWFUL paper, so a broader nib is a terrible idea...
Like the Perkeo?/ plastic fountain pen for you./ Stephen Brown says so. Haiku splashed of without much thought. Thanks for the very cool opportunity and the amusing and informative review. Judy Jacobs
"Perché no, Iroshizukú?" it will reply, when I will offer a bottle of ink. Like the dwarf Pankert, it will drink vividly and will never refuse the bottle. So, send questa penne my way, dear Stephen from the Netherlands. Questo non é Haikú ma Iroshizukú. Ditto.

Reminds me of Pilot's Kakuno...
It will take a full-sized converter and long cartridges. I've tested them.

Nice! I've been waiting for a proper review of the Perkeo for some time now. Keep it up!
just a heads up, you can find them on the italian amazon, amazon.it, for less than 14 euros. they've been available for quite a while in both M and F
Oh dear Kaweco
Did you make this Perkeo

I wonder if the nib tines are too tightly together. I have a playlist on pen tuning that may be helpful.
