I watched the Glasgow stage finish and had all of the others of this race on video tapes, which were later lent and lost. It meant a lot to me, Robert doing so well in beating most of the world's best in his 'home' race, that climb over the Tumble in particular. I've mentioned it on various forum threads, up until now proving elusive, now you've fixed it. Thanks again.
22:51 Keys says Gianetti and Millar "quite literally exploding" into Cardiff. Hardly. Anyway, having wished Robert (one of my sporting heroes) well the day before, i was delighted with this stage- and i'm also very pleased to see the Tumble, one of my dog Bryn's favourite places. Thanks a lot for this, a happy memory.
...I actually went to watch this on the tumble, i was about 14, it was amazing to see the big names like millar and kelly close up, Ive ridden up the tumble a couple of times, i found it harder than anything i did in the alps in terms of steepness, the speed these guys go up there is extraodninary if youve ever tried goin up there yourself, i think the organisers probably set millar up a little to win this year, judging by the lack of response in the chasers but even so....
A stage I've waited to see on you tube for a long time, thanks so much!
Fantastic memories. Thanks for the post

Have a word with yourself mate.
Proper bike racing, before radios reduced it to a video game controlled from the team car.
Millar attacking on the callow. This stage is one of my fav ever..
1990 I think, 89 Roche was riding in the Rainbow jersey in B'ham and Kelly was still riding for KAS
Are you asking if this is 1990? Definitely '89, as the 'good news about the team for next year' was that Lemond had signed for Z.
ARE YOU A FUCKING IDIOT
@@uksub78 No need for foul language. 😡
What is special about this stage to you :))))) crazzyhourse
I was on the finishing circuit in Cardiff. Just about my first exposure to pro cycling
