I'm guessing you've never been in a modern Double wides, they are aren't "mobile homes", they are pre-manufactured homes, 3 bdrm, 2 bath, delivered on wheels, other then the inexpensive exterior vinyl siding....they use the same materials as custom built homes, all a matter f budget...can have real wood, tile floors, granite, limestone counter tops, high end cabinetry, 2x6 walls, triple pane windows...and can even be placed on a foundation, something, obviously can't do in Alaska, though...all built in a environmentally controlled warehouses out of cold, rain, wet..I'm a retired 30+yr experienced, master carpenter
