@@microtonalmilio5233 For one thing other boats. Not every captain is as good a pilot as you are. Lots of accidents happen when tied up in port. The ocean always send junk to the shore. Big pieces of wood, metal, trash. I watched a big sailboat sink in port after a piece of an old pier ran into it. It cracked the fiberglass hull and it sunk slow over night. Micro organisms collect around anything in the ocean. The worst organism is the barnacle. They attach to everything especially it's a stationary boat in port. The hull of you boat becomes an all you can eat buffet. When your hull gets covered it's bad. They imbed themselves in the paint and that causes rust and that compromises the hull.
Seems an excavator leaves the bedrock load unrecovered unless they dig into the rock but still would think a suction dredge to get the stuff flowed out of the busket would be good?
yup , me too . bucket is going to leave 6 - 12 inches of heavies on the bottom even if you did try to scrape it by feel. but a suction head and rose cutter is going to suck that thing as clean as a dinner plate. When you're on the ocean with high winds like they get , you cant use a traditional dredge cutter head on a ladder frame , there is just too much up and down swells , but mount it to the end of the excavator dipper arm , you will have less time lost on cycles up and down to the screen deck , your clays will be broken down more before they hit the screen , and you will get ALL the gold
I always liked Shaun the most out all of the miners . I used to clean and repair ships underwater and wouldn’t mind giving mining a shot but unfortunately I’m 58 now and don’t think I could keep up. Then again, considering today’s youth, I’ll bet I would be able to outperform them lol. I have been a logger, commercial diver, cop, firefighter and repo guy in Detroit and truthfully, once a person understands the equipment and how to use it properly, and how to let the laws of physics work for them instead of against them, age isn’t that much of a factor. I was piled lumber at a large sawmill in Northern British Columbia a few years back and the first week almost killed me but once I knew how to sling the boards off the green chain, I was very good at it. Several years later while in my late 40’s I took a temporary job at a saw mill in NE Pennsylvania and they needed a guy to fill in on the green chain because the lumber pilar was murdered ( biker/drug thing) and the owner approached me and said “ Richard, I know I hired you to make pallets but could you help me out on the green chain?” “ Just do your best and I understand if you get tired and have to stop the chain to catch up.” I said sure why not, never mentioning I piled before. I go in and the young men were laughing and teasing me, and calling me grandpa and that I would throw a hip out, or pass out. They were really busting my balls so I just kept my mouth shut and went up to the front which is the worst spot because not only does the lumber come crashing down on you, you have to sort the boards and pull out the 2by8’s and 2 by 10’s for the guy down the chain because they are very heavy and if the guy has to pull the board out far enough to get his hands on it and push down on it to roll it off the chain, he will never keep up. I had to pile the 2by 4 and 6 inch boards which are lighter but it’s much more difficult , that’s why the new guy gets stuck there. I got in place and the sawyer must have drank 5 Red Bull’s because the lumber was pissing out once the chain started rolling. It was around 80 outside and I started piling and not only did I keep up, I was piling two at a time and sorted boards by length, just to make the piles nicer. Lmao they were all very impressed. The reason I told this story is because I could pile lumber no matter how old I am providing I am reasonably fit because I use the laws of physics to work with me. Now I had to practice quite a few weeks 8 hours a day 6 days a week to get that good but once a person masters a job, they own it

You might want test sample the tributaries into the bearing sea for gold deposits. Maybe the gold deposits are a lot more concentrated.
Deserts have a lot of gold but the mini f equipment is too expensive to run on land if you flooded Utah you could dredge all the gold
You should dump your excess water out of your bucket before you dump your bucket into the hopper Keep from washing your gold off your collection mats
