Holy crap! I haven't seen this show for over 5 years and Shaun had the only digger dredge! Now they are like flies! I can't believe it!
what you are talking about is from about that time 5 years ago, its not really like that now days.
The bucket dredges (Myrtle Irene, AU Grabber, and Christine Rose) clearly do a hell of a lot better than the suction dredges.
Sounds like I was watching a very old episode. I do remember seeing that HOTSHOT who walks his digger on and off his barge, yip this must be 8 years old.
There were always digger dredges out there, they just didn’t show them.

The only time you see Shawn's old man smiling is when Shawn work's like a dog and get's all the gold himself. He is a good worker and know's what he is doing compared to all the other dredge's in Nome. ☘
I can only imagine how satisfying it would be to pull in such a haul of gold. It would be hard for trawler workers to watch this. But I'm assuming fish are easier to find than gold at the bottom of a sea.

This is my first time watching this show but I really feel drawn to Shawn, seems like a really nice dude who’s made mistakes in past but is trying his hardest to reconcile those mistakes and grow as a person from those experiences. Feels like his dad doesn’t give him any support whatsoever apart from when Shawn and his crew come back with a decent amount of gold. I just hope Shawna crew help take some of the burden away from him during the season because it seems like Shawna dad would bury him quickly if he wasn’t producing results everyday!

I think it's crazy for all these people dredging for gold.. hoping for a trash can full of gold. .. however after watching all seasons.. they have never mentioned 1 person who hit it big and is living large.. I would not be so gunho to dredge when no one has ever gotten the big payoff

Shawn's step mom stayed on Steve about Shawn needed to work more to get the gold. Because of her it stressed Steve out and he would be mean toward Shawn. Shawn worked very hard to get gold to make his dad proud and that's what Shawn did.
