      Yeah, that thought occurred to me. If the defender is right on the shooter's butt, they won't be able to close the doors legally.

      you can move backwards as a screener. actually, its natural to do so cos you're being pushed back, what do you expect him to do? move away?

    Anyone who has played MyCareer on NBA 2k as a PG or SG hates when GSW run this play for Curry or Klay.

    Spurs also run it as a BLOB for Green and LMA, and when Messina was coach for one game(pop got ejected), he used a simple elevator set too

      break down klay's defense.There are articles pointed out people's impression on Klay's defense contradicts his defensive numbers.

    "The warriors have brought back the elevator action" If they brought it back so where did it originated from? And why it had to be brought back in a first place if it's so effective? Would have been awesome if this was explained in a video

    • @KevinAGV
      @KevinAGV 8 лет назад +3

      something it originated in GSW, but it was a play from Marc Jackson's playbook, and they didn't run it that much since he left, but it was a staple when he was there. He should've never been fired. Great coach.

    • @relaxandwork4666
      @relaxandwork4666 8 лет назад +3

      Kevin agv, it's an old play. GSW didn't originate that play. SA has been running that a lot before GSW became relevant. But I'm not saying it is originated in SA.

    • @xorilla
      @xorilla 8 лет назад +5

      Relax And Work It originated in SA but Golden State perfected it and it became their signature play because they have such good 3-point shooters. They stopped using it when Kerr came in because I guess he didn't like the play but brought it back because it's so effective with KD

    • @TheVictoryHawk
      @TheVictoryHawk 8 лет назад +2

      Lol no he wasnt, its no surprise that as soon as Kerr showed up with actual offensive sets, the warriors became exponentially better. The shooters and the defense were there, but the offense and the current chemistry comes from Kerr.

    • @LombaxDino
      @LombaxDino 8 лет назад +6

      Vijay Patel if you have seen the mavericks offense it is basically the same as the raptors maybe a bit more movement so I guess Casey just used what he learned there

    • @Grind2Excellence
      @Grind2Excellence 8 лет назад +2

      Vijay Patel if you guys did then Derozan & Lowry would've never developed into the offensive stars they are now

    • @VijayPatel-xl8fm
      @VijayPatel-xl8fm 8 лет назад +1

      DIMES Yeah they wouldnt. :( They would've been more efficient and would've made it easier for other players on the team to be better offensively.

    Coach, teams that have previously done a great job at hiding their point guard on defense (celtics and cavs for example) are having a tougher time not geting exploited for the bad point guard defense this year. I'd love an article or breakdown explaining why this is.

      Go search up Kevin Love's gamewinner against the Clippers. The elevator is nothing new, it's just that the warriors are the most deadly with it

    • @samuel96860
      @samuel96860 8 лет назад

      Jarrod Castillo Yeah they were. Spurs have been using it for years after time outs. However, I've only seen them run it ATO, so it's not as prevalent as their staples like the loop.

    • @dindoleonard
      @dindoleonard 8 лет назад +1

      Spurs were actually running this before the gsw, if you could remember the 2014 finals. They run Swing, which turns to Horns, then to elevator screens, and if all were anticipated, they went for the pick&roll, all in a single play. That was pretty confusing for their opponents.

    • @MoDakhil1
      @MoDakhil1 8 лет назад +3

      It's all about timing. There will definitely be times where it can be a moving screen if you aren't careful.

    • @Halkaniin
      @Halkaniin 8 лет назад +1

      Carmel coach Nick made a video a year or so ago about how most teams get away with illegal screens nowadays. Most handoffs look like illegal screens to me

    • @Superhero18
      @Superhero18 6 лет назад

      @@MoDakhil1 This. The key is that the player setting the screen has to be 'set' before the defender gets there. Not during, or after but before. If the offensive player is still moving, it's a moving screen.

  • @JimParkGM
    @JimParkGM 8 лет назад

    Warriors brought the elevator back and everyone is capitalizing on it. Or it could be that 2 of the 3 teams that were shown to use the elevator in the video have coaches that were with the Warriors over the last couple of seasons.

  • @AndyZach

    Cool. It seems that one of the players guarding the pick players can read this and follow the shooter out, or better, anticipate the pass to the shooter and steal it. I can see Lebron doing this.

    This commentator talk like the Warriors originated that play. But nope, I'd seen Spurs do this action a lot before the Warriors became relevant. I'm not saying it is originated in SA, but also it isn't originated in GS.

    • @MoDakhil1
      @MoDakhil1 8 лет назад +1
