Your finished Bewitched Park is amazing! The burgundy mat, gold trim with the black frame is perfect for that piece. I laughed out loud when you said your husband thought a house full of full coverage pieces would be great. Sounds like it is time for him to start a full coverage piece too!

Congrats on your finish! And I’m enjoying your progress on Delightful Waltz - looking forward to seeing more of your new one, too.
Regarding floss for multiple full coverages: I stitch from a master set of bobbins, but I’ve seen a method a few other full coverage stitchers use that might work for you. They have their master set on floss drops (or a comparable storage system), then they kit up each project with floss cards (usually cardboard/cardstock cards, but I’ve seen some plastic ones). They pull one 6 strand length of each color from their master set and have that on their floss card. Then, if they start running low on a color, they grab another 6 strand length from the master set to replenish the project floss card. Hopefully that made sense. 😊

You're finished piece is absolutely stunning. You must totally smile every time you walk by. I recently discovered 20 count as well and am really enjoying it. I'm currently using it for the pointed fifth long dog pattern. I find two strands gives me the best coverage with dark colors. FYI, the blue flower website has most of her patterns in PDF download. I recently discovered that after I switched to markup rxp after starting Forest Home. Can't wait to see your progress on all your full coverages!

So the needle hub sells floss drops that are also bobbins and they work great! I've ended up migrating all my dmc to those. For full coverage or projects that call for lots of dmc, I just bring out my bobbin storage box (from michaels) and have that sit with me for my stitching. For smaller projects, I can pull the floss drops and throw them on a ring in a project bag.

Gorgeous finish! I use an apothecary cabinet for the full set of DMC. Each drawer is a number grouping. For full coverage pieces I kit each in a pretty photo box with floss bags and index cards- they stand up in the box. I don’t like the mess of floss drops unless it’s under ten colors.

I’m stitching Aimee Stewart’s ‘A Stitch in Time’ in the regular size, 87 colors, tent stitch with 2 strands over 1 on 20 count. It’s 725 wide x 518 H. I’d say some detail might be lost with regular size, but when you stand back a few feet from it, it looks amazing and much less pixelated. I’m 4 years into it and finishing up the final shelf. I use 3 strands for black to get better coverage on that color.

Hi, I use floss away bags for HAED. I put the main bobbin in each bag and number the bag. Leftover and unused cut strands go in the bag with the bobbin. I use a plastic shoe box or a disposable container and file the floss bags in numerical order. It has kept my floss tangle free and pretty fast to grab, stitch and put back.

Thank you for the video. I love the beautiful finish. I used to paint, and some of my kids have pictures that way. I did one bobbin lace picture for my youngest. I always watch when i crochet and have done it for 50 odd years knitting i also watch the stitches if it is complex. I use floss away bags and put them on key chain twost cord from Amazon i can put all of floss from one to a thousand on one set of key two connected key chains and the higher numbers on another. It works for me and keeps the floss clean, and i leave each bag slightly open where i hook on the set of key chains. You could use the key chains with 2 hooked together and get a lot more floss drops on them. I just do what works for me. Love your work. With bobbin lace you either watch or you end up unlacing very much.

For multiple full coverage pieces, you might as well kit each one up with all the colors on floss drops and keep each project individually. As for a master set, I have DMC separated by the series, 100, 200, 300 etc and all the rings are on metal hangers I got from Amazon. I do have 2 separate hangers to make it easier to access threads, but they do tilt to one side when you take a ring off and I just shake the hanger to get them to hang straight again 😊

Crafty Gaming Jamie made a stitch-with-me video recently where she showed her floss organization system. She does multiple full coverage pieces, so she has a master set of DMC and makes floss cards for each project with a partial skein taken from the master set. This also allows her to do new starts whenever, since she has all the DMC colors and can pull from that onto a new card at will.

I have all my colors in bags in numerical order and I keep a bobbin in each bag with a portion of the color 6 strands about 18” long in the hole of the bobbin. No tangles no dust but I do only have DMC. All the colors. I also have them hooked on 2 rings in the whole on the floss bags. About 100 through 300 then 400 through 600 and so on. Hello! I have all my dmc on bobbins but if I’m going to have a project that will require its own skein I just buy an extra dmc and put it on a floss drop. So if you’re doing a full coverage that needs its own skein maybe just use an extra drop and tape the dmc label to the drop so you don’t have two drops for the same colour permanently

DMC is pretty inexpensive so just go ahead and buy what you need for each project. You can put rings on a clothing hanger and put. An old pillow case over it to keep it clean. Store in closet near where you stitch to keep them handy. When works take years to stitch it makes sense not to think thrifty but just admitting that it is worthwhile to invest in those threads!
