    Great video thanks. Other ones were not nearly as clear. Strange design from Ford and I can imagine the evil design engineer thinking that the hidden screw will earn extra revenue for Ford due to owners giving up and taking the car to the dealers or forcing the light unit out without removing all screws and destroying it in the process, and having to purchase a new one. With great videos like this, power is restored to the consumer.

      Thanks and yes you are correct I do run a workshop and I don’t charge customers for the bulbs because they allow me to film on their cars. So it keeps everyone happy and stuff like bulb changes I think everyone should know how to do it as it saves time and money. 😊🙏

    Thanks for the video. One point to add, whilst T20 will do but will be sloppy, the correct size is T25 and is a beautiful fit.

    Thanks, helped me save some money from having someone to fit it!
    A few things to note for anyone out there:
    - Inner screw: this has very sharp edges so you shouldn't miss it. Our car was bought brand new and first time replacing this so can be a bit tight so took a bit more force to unscrew it.
    - Bulb: there are actually two options you can buy - 380 or 382. Difference is the base/pin - have a quick look around your local Halfords to see the difference. Our car is a 66 plate and needed a 382. BEWARE: I used Halfords and Amazon's number plate "matching" and both told me to get the 380 but this was obviously wrong. Might be a good idea to open the cluster first and check the current bulb you have.

    • @robd9413
      @robd9413 2 года назад +1

      My 14 plate needed a 380, so presumably they changed it somewhere between 14 and 66, but no idea when.

    Nice one Taj. I watched another video and there was no knurled nut to unscrew, just the clips, so I was tugging away and eventually realised I must be missing something. Your video covered it perfectly.

  • @T8m0

    Great simple thorough video, just changed my rear brake light after watching this, even saving me time with the size of T20 screw, not having to fumble around for the right size. I had some inner clips in mine (2010 fiesta) holding the whole bulb section in but they were easy to figure out. Top man!! 💯👌

    I couldn’t find what was holding in until you mentioned the wing nut inside. It was done up way too tight and getting the angle on it was tough. Thank you so much for the vid.

  • @lostronin380
    @lostronin380 3 года назад +11

    Helpful vid thanks. I got the job done. Looks like the brake light bulb needed is a "380" twin filament 12V 21W/5W. The "382" as mentioned in the vid is only a single filament 12v 21W according to what I could find.

      I don't recommend putting a 382 in as I did this and as I turned the headlights on my accelerator would cut out, which eventually fried my accelerator position sensor, so please put a 380😊

    This is insane design for items that are safety related for cars. Making the whole cluster having to come out to change a bulb and then such a crazy design in order to remove the light cluster. The 2017 model i have is slightly different and there are no visible screws to access for the cluster removal. They are hidden under a plastic cover

    Taj, thanks for advice, the ford instruction book was useless which led me to remove a 3 panel bolts which I have now lost behind the seat panels. You saved me wasting more time trying to work its out on my own. Why do Ford make it so complicated to do simple maintenance? Thanks again.

    The rear thumb screws were an absolute pain to get out for me. I had to use some leverage with a screwdriver just to make it turn initially and was then able to turn the screw by hand. Spent way longer just getting it unstuck. 5 minute job turned into half an hour. I made sure it wasn't turned as tight back on. Man what a pain, but glad it's done!

    Hey Taj, A question for you. I have a 2015 Titanium 1.0 Ecoboost with 33k on the clock. I have just found out that wet belts are major issue in the US. Will mine have a wet belt? I am in the U.K .

    • @TajMotorMedics
      @TajMotorMedics  10 месяцев назад +1

      Hey there! To the best of my last update in September 2021, the wet belt issue primarily affected the 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine in certain Ford vehicles in the US, particularly the Ford Focus and Ford Escape. The 1.0 EcoBoost engine, like the one in your 2015 Titanium, does not have a wet belt system. So, you should be good with your vehicle in the UK! 🚗💨 If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask! Thanks 🙏🏽
