He is praying for Trump to start another insurrection, Santos will lead the charge to Capitol Hill, and he has nothing to lose.
To be honest it's worse for him to have sentencing delayed. He going to constantly worried about this for the next 6 months and he have travel restrictions etc. He not really going to be free and then he serve his time. So its almost like a extra 6 months. It probably be in his best interests to just get on with serving the sentence

That is what a plea is. He pled guilty on two for them to dismiss the others.
Plea deal. The feds like their high conviction rate, so they stack up the charges until you’re looking at decades in prison in hopes you’ll take a plea deal.

Someone please explain why it takes so long to get to sentencing. It’s a plea agreement. Why isn’t sentencing essentially ‘immediate’?

Courts never explain costs to send people to prison. New estimates are $200 a day to keep a person in prison.
And when is the sentencing date? Exactly. Six months away when the news cycle ends. Santos will get a suspended sentence, no prison time, he might have to do community service.
No… not for what he pleaded to… he’s definitely going to prison.
1 of the charges has a 2 year MINIMUM in prison. He will go there but unknown for how long. The fact he got it dropped from 23 to 2 crimes, he should get the max.
there is (for now) at least one mandatory minimum of two years, whatever happens with the remaining charges, that two years is guaranteed.
