I’m from England, and I first saw Gong Yoo in season 1 of Squid Game, where I thought he was gorgeous and very charismatic. But it’s only recently after Squid Game season 2, (where I was absolutely blown away by his acting!) that I started looking at his other projects. In the last few weeks I’ve watched The Trunk and Coffee Prince, and I’ve just started Goblin. He’s such a great versatile actor. I love that he mentioned the film Take This Waltz, I loved that film when I was younger. (Luke Kirby! 😍) He seems to speak and understand English quite well, I think he would be great in that kind of Indie Romcom/drama. I hope Sarah Polley has seen this interview!
He is a very nice sounding person. I hate that he can't take time for himself. He should be allowed to go out and not be bothered. The life he has must be very lonely. But I hope he knows not all people are like that.❤😢

Im impressed with his English. I think the interviewer didnt understand and kept asking about what he didnt like about fame etc. But what he was trying to get across though there are some aspects he doesn't like and ofcourse yearns for privacy - he is fully aware that due to his fame its not possible and hes greatful for being an actor etc. So fans, a side note .....if you see him having some streetfood... leave him B lol

He's an INCREDIBLY TALENTED actor and of course, GORGEOUS, GORGEOUS, GORGEOUS. My heart goes out to all of the actors and artists who give us so much but also have such a hard time leading a normal and personal life. As hard as it may be, we have to give them their space, privacy and chance to grow as an ordinary individual. Their mental health is even more important than the artistry that they give their fans. And no, Gong Yoo, you are not being greedy to want your privacy and personal life. You speak English very well.
I respect and like his comment that he plays a character, not who he is. Further, his desire to be able to walk about freely without being recognized and crowded. The best action His fans should hear, is give him space and respect his privacy. As a fan of his craft, his wishes for this privacy should be honored.
Am.. am I the only one that felt a little heartbroken for him? All he wants to do is swim on some Korean beaches in peace and direct some indie films. Most of this was him saying how much he dislikes acting because of the fame. And then he says he that one reason that he DOES like acting is because he loses himself and it gets him away from all of the intrusive super fans :/ like.. I don’t know. There was a point during the interview in which I thought “This can’t be real?”
Yeah, I get what you're saying. Like Mel Gibson always says, you can't stuff the toothpaste back in the tube. Once your face is out there, there's nowhere to hide if the public decides to latch onto you. It's tricky. Obviously celebrity has a lot of perks, but the price of fame, that loss of anonymity - it isn't super fair to actors. Gong Yoo seems to have such a good heart. I think it troubles him that people will assume he is just like the characters he plays. I know he loves his fans and is loyal to them, but it must be tiring to have to always put yourself out there for people. God bless you, Gong Ji-cheol, for all you do! What an amazing person and actor. I didn't quite realize I have seen him is so many dramas until after I watched The Trunk and looked back on his past work. That tells me he is very good at disappearing into the characters he portrays in the films. Compared to many other actors in C and Kdramas he gets two thumbs up for his kissing ability.

И поэтому, я ему верю. Мне нравится все его человеческие качества, которые он не стесняется показывать, всегда оставаясь собой! Это очень важно и не всякий может себе это позволить. Надеюсь, что Ю-щи сохранит свою индивидуальность до конца жизни! Искренне желаю ему этого! What an amazing person and actor. I didn't quite realize I have seen him is so many dramas until after I watched The Trunk and looked back on his past work. That tells me he is very good at disappearing into the characters he portrays in the films. Compared to many other actors in C and Kdramas he gets two thumbs up for his kissing ability.

Я очень люблю творчество Гон Ю-щи.
Мне нравятся все его работы, включая фильмы, дорамы, рекламы и фотосессии для брендов! Конечно, что-то нравится больше, что-то - меньше, но я вижу труд, тяжёлый труд, вижу, как он проживает своего персонажа. Всегда! И я вижу его удовольствие от работы. И это всё окупает. И поэтому, я ему верю.
Мне нравится все его человеческие качества, которые он не стесняется показывать, всегда оставаясь собой! Это очень важно и не всякий может себе это позволить. Надеюсь, что Ю-щи сохранит свою индивидуальность до конца жизни! Искренне желаю ему этого!
Мне нравится абсолютно всё в нём как в мужчине: его ум, мудрость, внимание к друзьям, к коллегам, даже самым маленьким, и также ко всем окружающим его людям, даже чужим; его сила духа, терпение и страстность натуры, харизма, сексуальная привлекательность (куда же без неё) и прекрасное чувство юмора,- словом, все те качества, что он считает нужным и возможным показать!
После "Токкэби" было ещё много интересных проектов и я рада, что Гон Ю-щи нашёл в себе силы продолжать работать.
Надеюсь, что все его мечты и творческие замыслы осуществятся и принесут ему, а значит и нам, его горячим поклонникам, много радости.
