Thanks for the comment. It is a lot of stuff to remember! I hear you man. No worries. It is unfortunate that some people look down on big drum sets because some drummers don't use the whole kit. Each piece of my kit is important to me and a part of my writing. I think that my playing shows that :) Again, no problem and thanks for the reply!

Hey synyster, thanks so much! It would be interesting to see a cover indeed. But yes, these are the exact parts I recorded and sent to Activison/Treyarch. Great tune, and really fun to work on.
What's bad is people think it's a drum machine on the recording. This dude can play this in his sleep you can tell. Pretty sure he went to Berkley or some shit his technique is no joke it's actually the opposite of a joke....whatever that is. That aside, this was a great experience, happy to be a part of it. This video I mixed the audio myself, that's why you hear the real drums so much more. Thanks
@@House_of_GrindI heard the Archangel instrumental from CoD Zombies Treyarch anthology vol 1 or 2 released late 2023. I heard it on Amazon Music. One of my top favorites from the black ops zombies soundtrack, that rapid snare before the breakdown always gets me. Seeing you do it with one stick blee my mind. One of my favorite drum parts in the soundtrack
Thanks so much! This was a killer track to work on and put together. Definitely a fun song, but a good challenge to perform all the specific parts that I wrote.
After watching this I want to learn how to play drums even more now. Also, that drum roll from 4:07-4:08: my favorite drum part from the song and I was blown away by how that was done with only one hand! You sir, are an amazing drummer!

You can get there. Put in a good practice regime and stay consistent, making a little progress every time. It won't happen overnight, but just think long term and you can achieve it.
Whoa just whoa most people don't appreciate the drums as much as guitar or vocals but if it wasn't for your drumming that would not be one of my favorite songs and that outside of zombies
You know what I like most about this video? It's that this guys has this huge kit with like 20 cymbals and 9 heads, and he uses every single one of them. Effectively, too. Bravo, sir
Hey there Darren, just wanted to say that the work you’ve done on Archangel is some of the best drumming I’ve ever heard. I’ve been playing for only about four years, but you’re one of the reasons I picked up the sticks. Hearing that gravity blast always made me want to learn, now I’m getting it down as of recently. Keep up the awesome playing man.
Hey Brandon, that is great to hear man. This was a fun song to work on for sure. It's was great to showcase my skills for a game like this. The roll blast is something i've been doing for a long time, it's really part of my sound if you follow the albums i'm on. Keep working hard, use a metronome always and you'll reach your goals. Take care.
I can only imagine what transcribing this song would be like, especially with all the fills and insane snare roll with one hand!! I will always appreciated your contribution to Treyarch zombies with your amazing drumming skills.
Hey Blue, thanks for the comment. The sheet music is quite complex for this song, it took a good bit of time and focus to learn all the fills and cymbal orchestrations, not for the faint of heart. Hope to work with Treyarch and on other games in the future!
So i put cymbals next to the cymbals near your feet which were also applied with cymbals similar to the cymbals near your main drums which are also applied with cymbals.
Appreciate the support very much everyone. I do these videos for everyone one of you. As long as you enjoy them then it's worth it. The song is really badass so I figured there would be some interest in seeing what it takes to put the drum parts together. Thanks for checking it out everyone!
This video still blows me away. Any chance of covering other Zombie songs in the future? I think the world needs a cover of Coming Home, that or the world'll blow up because of it. I don't know what I'm saying anymore, but you and Kevin sure do make one hell of a team. Hopefully we'll be seeing more of you two ;)
That's great man, that's the whole point. I always figured this type of drumming and music would pump people up for this style of gaming. I think they go hand in hand. Thanks for the good words!
I've been following you since your earlier work with Arsis... you never stop getting better and better. People like you are the reason why i enjoy playing drums so much. Fucking great job that's how drums should be played.

It took me years when I was younger to really hone my playing and understand how to sustain such a high output for so long. Thanks for the comment!

Dude I'm a guitarist and usually tuning to drop c#, or drop b, or drop a#. And I think the heaviest song I can play is Slipknot before i forget or breaking Benjamin psycho or diary of jane. But this blows it out of the water man. One day I wanna learn to play drums but I only started playing guitar 2 years ago when I was 13. Props man. You've became my drumming idol.

Every time I watch this video, I'm just astounded of how fucking well you play the drums. I mean in some moments during the video, I had to rewind just to barely watch how fucking fast your hands go. Very impressive.
Thanks for the comment man. Of course it does get tiring, but you have to condition yourself just like you would for any other sport or physical activity. I have so much respect for you coming from a fellow drummer. It shocks me completely what people like you can do on the kit. Nice work m8!
boss...... just a born drummer.
thats some next level drumming dude. pefected the ankle technique and the gravity blast too. Just insane
4:07 How? Can't even do that with 2 hands lol
XD
Was about to comment the same thing :D
Called the gravity roll/blast
I was just going to mention gravity roll then i saw your comment
I know right jesus christ
Honestly, this is a work of art. So much more publicity is deserved here
+DarkBhawk Hey DarkBhawk. Appreciate the good words man. I couldn't agree with you more. I've been getting my work out there for quite awhile, the more eyes the better :) Feel free to share.
if this was Guitar hero the drum intensity would be maxed lol
Sheep Tasker and the tv would be on fire And your speaker would be dead
Sheep Tasker If Archangel was on GH, it would be nearly impossible to FC.
i can't get over how amazing this sounds and looks, amazing job
Thank you so much. It was great to work with Treyarch on this song. I wanted my drum style all over this.
did you like making this legend of a song
Hah, thanks man, I did enjoy working on it for sure. I really wanted to bring my style into the game. I hope to be able to do more of it in the future. I can't think of a more fitting style of drumming to fit intense game play.
Daaaamn. Someone give this guy an award for not just giving up. That'd hurt my poor arms.
I'd need to be super hydrated to not have calf or forearm cramps from doing 1/4 of this lol.
This guy is a fucking machine gun behind the drums!
+The SideWindeR Thanks! I've been doing this style of drumming for many years. Please feel free to check out some of my other videos or albums that I've worked on over the years. Thanks for the support!
+Darren Cesca The next World's Fastest Drummer
Thanks man, I'm glad you enjoy the videos. I try to put something new up every 2-3 months. I'm always involved in some sort of musical project or doing session work for a new album. So I use these videos as a way to keep people updated and give them a glimpse into what goes into what I do. Thanks again!
I may as well give up drums now. Shit son.
Callum McCarthy If anything man, I hope my videos inspire people to keep working hard and not give up. If I can drum like this through years of hard work and dedication then there's no one reason someone else can't do the same. Thanks for the support!
Well man, I can't say anything but you must be a great bloke, not only at drums; cheers for the support mate
Years later and I’m still amazed by the drumming for this song!!!
4:00 the blast that never gets old
song is so fucking legendary
Every time I come back to this video I am still speechless at how fast you go. You're really someone I look up too
3:28 prob my favorite part
Man you might have to be my favorite drummer. Always loved your style since Goratory and Arsis.
Hey man, thanks! Always trying to push myself and put out interesting albums. Been working with alot of different artists over the years and have some great stuff coming out soon. Thanks for the comment.
But does it djent?
Aseem Uppal good question. simple answer. yes.
I see we're all of culture.
How does this not have a million views
Oh my god. That takes some true talent sir
Haha, thanks bro. I appreciate the support very much. Please enjoy some of my other videos as well. Thanks!
Jesus fucking Christ you're just absolutely amazing!! How long have you been playing??
Thanks bro! about 23 years at this point. I started back in 5th grade and haven't looked back since :)
Darren Cesca your like the closest to a drum god as ive ever seen
Darren Cesca Damn dude! At times it looked like it was fast-forwarding you were going so fast.
Tim Bahr
Mike Mangini is worlds fastest drummer, and Mangini learnt Darren much of the things he can today :D
Props man. You've became my drumming idol.
imagine doing this then failling the stick flip at the end.
Underrated comment
i know im almost eleven years late to this but i keep coming back to this vid just to look at this monster of a kit! absolutely gorgeous, i'd do anything to mess around on this thing! one day i'll be this good :)
Thanks so much. Of course playing my kit is a lot of fun! I built it around my playing style and the have the ability to compose extremely creative parts.
all I can say is... DAMN HE'S GOOD
This has got to be the greatest drumming I have ever witnessed in my life
4:07 😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳
Dude you are my idol darren. Every single time i watch this video and your other videos, i just get amazed. I've been playing drums myself for about 5 months now and ive been practicing the one handed drum roll. This drum track is very challenging and one day imma perfect this track. Thanks mann keep on drumming.
Skylar Bowen hey Skylar, that's great to hear man. I'm always happy to know that my playing inspires others. For me music has been a long path of time and dedication but I've really enjoyed the journey. So thanks for the support and keep working through the tune, it's definitely not an easy one!
HIS HAND AT 4:05 :0
+Thel 'Vadam yep, gravity blast technique
+Nerve Records still, that shit is really hard to do.This dude is insane
Fap level: Master Wizard
How much for buy?
i call it hax
Thank you Darren, you helped me convince my friend that metal isn't "just noise" simply because I showed her this video once!
ARE YOU RUSHING OR ARE YOU DRAGGING?!
Every time I watch this video, I'm just astounded of how fucking well you play the drums. I mean in some moments during the video, I had to rewind just to barely watch how fucking fast your hands go. Very impressive.
"Shit we forgot to hit record. Do it again from the start"
...
FUUUUUUUUUUU
7 years on and this is still legendary. Brilliant work dude.
Well I quit. *snaps drumsticks and burns kit*
How in the living hell do you not get tired from this amazing display of talent
Thanks for the comment man. Of course it does get tiring, but you have to condition yourself just like you would for any other sport or physical activity. For me, it took years of work and hours of practice and dedication to my craft. When I was playing full time I'd play close to hour long sets on stage every night. Just have to put in the time to get there. Thanks for the support!
how are you not a world famous billionare?
Rainbow Dash Is Best Pony people care more about the singers. Drummers hardly get the credit they deserve.
@@coreykelly8926 I know right if you buy the cd for the black ops zombies soundtrack there is nothing on it about any drummers sad really :(
@@velocity1116 Uh, there kinda are a ton of drummers especially in the extreme metal scene who play like this.
Not to say it wouldn't take talent. I could never play like this...
Those blast beats are awesome! The fills are insane! Good job!
