Enjoyed this a lot - I often mix on a scrap of watercolor paper. I have 2 tips. I've used fountain pens for writing (not drawing) since I was 8 or 9. I learned this tip only within the last few years: an empty fountain pen cartridge can be refilled with a syringe! Be careful - a a tiny bit in the syringe can fill the cartridge immediately! I used to have a traveling ink pot - sold it when I didn't use it... But, order an ink sample from Goulet pens, and then you have a great vial for carrying spare ink - the vial doesn't leak and is really small - fits in any small Toolkit. And tip #2 - got this from someone on youtube: get large disc magnets - I got mine from Amazon and they are about the size of a quarter. Put one on the bottom of a metal palette and a 2nd under a page in the sketchbook. Sit the palette on or near the area where the 2nd magnet is - voila! The palette is firmly attached to the sketchbook and won't fall off if one holds one's sketchbook at an angle. Makes Plein Air much easier - can easily stand to paint without a table. Waterbrush, sketchbook, and attached palette take it down to the very basics. .
