Great stuff. That Fish was definitely chrome. bright bright! Great action and to see your Mrs. giving it all she had was priceless! Great video! Makes me wanna go with yall.
I've never used bobbers or skein for salmon but after watching your video I'm actually doing it for the first time next weekend. Cool and inspiring video
We have a saying in my group. "Give them nothing, take everything!" If you plan on letting them go it is best to make it quick. You fight a fish on light line with all that drag you tired it out so much it may not spawn. Same with Steelhead.
@@sbsoutdooraction3055horsin them in would be better for the health of the fish I would think cause they don’t fight as long and they don’t get wrapped 😂
i do same technique fishing for chinook here on the west coast of Canada except its about 20-25 feet deeper and the fish are about 2 times the size of those. wondering why u horse them in and dont let them fight. u do that around here and thats a sure fire way to have your rod snapped or line snapped almost every single time. solid video tho man
@@sbsoutdooraction3055 yea that’s one thing you don’t have to worry about here is timber on the river sides. Like I said all our rivers are in canyon passes so the average depth is 20-35 feet. Some places we fish it can be like 60
More hardware goodness with the bobber drops👍 I like firetiger Hot N Tots, the smaller size on small water like that. Fish them the same way as the Arctics.
Best way to catch them. You would like a baitcaster way better though. I used to use a spinning reel, but the baitcaster is leaps and bounds better. I just built a few sprial wrapped rods that are absolute King slayer sticks.
@@sbsoutdooraction3055 will do! What kind of fish can I expect to catch this time of year (throughout the next month)? I’ll only be there about a month hoping to get out fishing a couple days. Would jigging with a spoon be suitable like in your other vids? I’m pretty new to fishing and appreciate the help!
second time it looks like you can get one more shot on that line to get it to float at the white line instead of having black showing, makes for a more sensitive bite detecting float.
Can you give any advice on where I can start in Michigan that has good access as close to Indiana as possible with actual fish lol Been all over trying to find them in the rivers and I have no luck please and thank you
Yes, now that I'm thinking about it. I was only thinking about one spot i go to alot where its roughly 15 foot wide, and 90 percent is only a few inches deep, and LOADED to the gills with wood.
spectacular fishing. I love watching your videos and just like me, there are many viewers who are also watching this wonderful content. I would love to be able to fish there one day. I actually don't know where exactly
funny you keep calling them chrome....not one of those fish are chrome, most of em look like boots.they are chrome when in the lake, but they turn fast in the crick, not hating, just stating facts, good video tho, love watching bobbers drain
Yes all but one of those fish are pretty dirty. You’re crazy tho if you fish Michigan and don’t call the first spinner fish chrome. Shiny, silver, scales and a black back. Tight lines and thanks for watching tho🤙🏻
@@sbsoutdooraction3055 yes i agree with you the spinner fish was nicer then the others,im from oregon and our salmon season is in full swing fresh from the ocean so that is my basis for comparrison, good luck fishn bud
@@sbsoutdooraction3055 just saying as a viewer it is more enjoyable watching someone learn on their own vs listening to a coach scrutinize every decision. Just trying to make your channel better. All the more gratification when an unskilled person wins on their own. Or it just brings back bad memories of my dad or brothers coaching me in fishing. Regardless great vid. Ive been sick with covid and have missed many days of fishing. Cant wait to get back out. Tight lines

Do you ever let the fish run with the drag on or do you horse all the fish in the same way
Yessir loose drags only just gotta let ‘em run into the timber 💯

Depends if you're trying to catch and release your fish or just have them all die in the end?

35lb braid and 20lb floro leader

20lb fc sniper

Just personal preference, i like running lighter with skein since pieces very and some can sink the float too much

Go north of Muskegon, Ludington, Frankfort or baldwin areas all rivers will have fish
Thank you

You don’t get to change the color of chrome according to where, how far up the river you are. Chrome is chrome green is green and brown is brown.
