So happy for Max to speak on this and also show that he is reflecting. Not just blaming Maya and family. I do not know if it is being in the late 20s, specifically 29 or because you live in such a "safe space", but we also live in the countryside with our child, and my husband gets restless like this. I don't as much because my childhood was so unstable, I'm content with experiencing security and peace. Also, I'm busy integrating haha. His go-to is to want to explore or reinvent himself, and sometimes he feels like he has to be in another space to do so. He also gets overly complacent, less productive and sometimes falls into a rut. I just remind him, and say oh, it`s that season for you again, whatssup ? I reaffirm that his soul must be here to fulfil something. He needs to look at our life and create space to explore his being then we work around it. It is okay for some people to feel like this. Especially because you get to witness Maya be "new", learn a new language and be in a new space while you are in your own country. It may be this feeling, that you would also like to explore this part of yourself too. I mean, you left Sweden for a reason. Honestly, you guys are doing great. Sometimes life is lived as we experience it. We live and learn and support each other. Who knows where you will be in 2 years or so. This is your home and the best investment for your family; it definitely is not your jail cell. There will be many, many, many chapters. Remember this. My husband and I remind each other of this too more often than we think, usually after the quarrel, but nevertheless, gaining perspective on this has helped us a lot with this feeling that you're describing.
Maya, I love that Saga hugged you with her hands full of paint and it showed on the hair on the back of your head. Yet, you didn't flinch, not even a little and just received her affection.
Girl this resonates with my current season so much! I moved from California to the wild Wild West (Wyoming) 2 years ago and met my now husband. I’ve been struggling to not wallow in the things i miss from being in the city and focus on the things I enjoy where I’m currently at. As always thanks for sharing!
I think you both have that tendency to ditch and start anew, hahah, it's honestly adorable how alike you are in these separate clips. I think it's managing your expectations, life isn't always exciting. It just isn't meant to be that. Learning to sit with uncomfortable feelings is good, to be calm and present and grateful, yes. But don't force yourselves out of your emotions, theyre totally natural. Switch up your routine, try to satisfy your inner child with simple pleasures, you'd be surprised how oftentimes it's us who complicates things because of how we think life should look instead of making magic with what's infront of us in the ways we can manage. Be kind to yourselves 💚💛💜🤍❤️🧡🩷 youre not doing anything wrong, you're alive and it's a miracle in and of itself
Loved this little slice of countryside realness. I appreciate what you both said about longing and being present. A yoga teacher once taught me is one way to stay present is to ask "What are my toes doing?" so you could feel grounded in your body. Maya, it's amazing that you've put out so many creative projects yet the prospect of changing the color of your front door is daunting. It's cause you've changed and shifted, but you also know once you put your creative decision out into the world, that's it! Max, I understand your trying to be present in the reality you thought you wanted. The funny thing is, we're always limited by what we don't know and now you know to be grateful, yet to still yearn, and that's perfectly ok. Here's to the ongoing journey from present to present.
It’s interesting to me that sometimes wanderlust can lead you back to yourself (if you’re intentional) but it can really help you run away from yourself. So it’s commendable to sit through the discomfort of being home. When I feel like I want to runaway from myself it’s so hard to even realize that’s what’s happening. But once I do, it takes time to sort through what the feelings are under the feelings. It’s worth it though. Keep going y’all.
Wow Max, you are not alone. I feel exactly the same way. I’m going to try leaning in too. I hate the nagging of always wanting something else. Or wanting things to be different. I have a great life and so do you. We will get through it. Be easy, be simple.😊
Maya, congratulations on your door. Your door has meaning, yes girl. Your project spoke to me. So many times do I want something different or more and I am intimidated by working with what I got. Don’t overthink, just do. ❤
Hi - a Canadian gal living in the UK with her family….I am learning from you guys when you share and process your feelings with us. This is doing the hard stuff, naming our disappointment and sadness and missed expectations-to shifting our perspective and mindset towards value and contentment. I am learning this too. Thank you for modelling this for us. 👏🙌
Saga is the best little helper and now she's serving us ponytail and hair flip 🤣 You both seem very reflective in this video. Personally, I think is good because being constantly on the go can lead to burn out and/or living a life that is not aligned with our values.
Maya is the best at activating Saga. She has an incredible way of just every time she does something she just allows Saga to be there and help support. And she loves it every time! / Max
Love the reflections from both of you in this video! And Saga with her ponytail, she’s growing so fast!! Maya, any chance of you doing a video on how you’ve maintained your friendships from the States now that you’re living in Sweden full time? Wondering if you have any tips!
I'm loving the door conclusion here! Take what you've got and try to make the best out of it. She turned out cute! Been loving your videos lately, it feels relatable and at the same time that perfect little bit of escapism.
Do you guys ever picnic in the forest? I love the greenery and nature ❤ Maya’s hair is stunning and the sunflowers are gorgeous 🌻 Thanks for sharing with us🫶🏽
Your home is beautiful and love the new color on your door!! Saga is so cute and growing up so fast. Max it’s normal to feel how you feel and Maya of course. We all have it . Much love and hope you’ll all have a wonderful week!💚🍄
Loved this video and how it was expressed, filmed and edited! Thank you for sharing guys 🥰 Great to witness you using presence as a practice with your home & life, noticing those restless or impatient parts of yourselves. We all have that 😅😆 you're doing so well. Keep deepening and creating your lives moment to moment 🙏✨
But It's so nice to be able to use nature for food! Great! I recently moved to the north of Sweden and am still learning what I can forage and use from the forest and the nature around and where the good spots are! 😉 Greetings from the North! 🦌🌲🔥
Curious what mushrooms you have up in the north, you definitely have "cloud berries" which are my favorites!! They are usually referred to as "Nordic gold"!!
@@MaxMayaLiving YES! We do have hjortron in our latitude. I actually though that we are too "south" in the north, but I found some last week and then I found a whole field of them, so I am just waiting for them to ripen and going ape 😁 As for mushrooms, I am been thought not to touch them from very little and I am still afraid to pick any. Maybe now that I live in the land of the chanterelles I will overcome the fear of picking poisonous shrooms. You are very welcome to visit the north. I have a 3yo, so the kids can play together and I can show you guys around. Think about it. 😊🔥🌲 We can make a small colab or something 😎😉
Maya.. I am happy that you painted the door and put in the work. There's more love in it that way.. your time, effort, creativity, thoughts have all gone into it this way.. I love you & your little family ❤ On another note.. what is your skin care routine? you always have such a glowing complexion 🤩
I like the color you painted your door! I think you would have had an easier time painting something like this, if you use a paint roller. The come in all different sizes( very small-regular size) and are easy to paint in some difficult. angles. I'm guessing Sweden sells them. They are great for not 'streaking', and having to go over certain areas. Your home is looking amazing! Happy Wednesday!
Max I appreciate your honesty with yourself and trying to understand the feelings. Maya I loved the blue door lol, it was comforting for some reason 😂. But I am glad you made it into a door that you love. Peace to you both. Saga you are so precious! Jackie I hope you are living your best life exploring all that grass😂!
Maya, the door 😂The door project has been smashed 🔥Max keep cooking and picking the mushrooms, I'll be back soon to try the new recipes 😂 Love you guys.
Being loving, pure, peaceful, godly and contented in every situation with God's help 🙏🏽💖 I really do enjoy you guys content how pure and raw and truthful it is keep it up together as one in Christ you can do all things who strengthens you.
Max your talk was very relatable. You seem really self aware and are able to reflect on your thoughts and feelings so well. I want to say that the feeling you have could still be the “true” feeling. Maya is “older” and has accomplished a lot of her goals. You’re “younger” and I think the ambition you have is creating this itch. It makes sense a lot that the country side is “not enough” for you. It might be in a few years. If the feeling persists, maybe listen to it and act on it to see how you feel. Ofcourse that is not an easy act at all, since you guys are a family and have the house etc., but in this stage of your life maybe a little more husslebussle is what you need. Maybe you guys can find a place that has a bit of both nature and city. When you’re older you gravitate towards the business less. And then the countryside will still be there.. All love to you guys ❤️
Hi Max, you have a great partner and a small kid, I really don't understand why you feel so alone. I think this feeling you have is called "cabin fever" because not a lot happens in the village, where you live I assume. But these days there are many projects you can do in digital spaces, online, on forums. So, you can do a lot of work from your tiny home in the village, just try remote working.😊
Max: I miss Saga..... ( Only as an afterthought) I miss my wife.... but I see her everyday I miss my daughter because she goes to daycare Do you need space Max?
Can’t wait to live in the country side Always wanted that for yearrrrsssssss Preferably with Cowboys and cowgirls. I like that type of American culture
I'm so glad this door is DONE!!!
The DIY QUEEN
Your transparency and vulnerability is much appreciated, so relatable 🙌🏾
Thank you. It means everything to share this with you!

This was a beautiful comment and we felt every bit of it. Thank you so much for sharing. It's nice to hear that other people feel similar things. ❤
Wow! You hit the nail on the head! Thank you for sharing!
Insightful comment thank you for sharing!
Maya, I love that Saga hugged you with her hands full of paint and it showed on the hair on the back of your head.

haha You can't get any more real than "the bee scene." 🐝
The door came out good. No need for a new one.
Love how you formatted this video. It shows an extention of you as individuals and as a whole ❤️👌🏽
Thank you!!

This blog is a masterpiece 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽 you guys are telling a story and it’s so good
Outside of the topic being interesting, I really enjoy how cinematic this video is. The work you guys put in is appreciated!

How them toes though!? Good tip - presence!!
I can definitely relate to what Max is saying
The struggle is real but honestly, heaing you all stories and being out in nature reflecting feels soo much better.
That overhead shot of max walking in the woods was cool
We live in a paradise, sometimes I just have to remind myself ❤
