Blob is such an underappreciated character. He's a true powerhouse, a legitimate threat to most heroes, and even had an ongoing rivalry with Juggernaut (unstoppable force vs immovable object). But most people can't get over "haha his powers make him fat".
The best part is that, it's technically the reverse depending on whether you go by pure lore or by scientific inference. Pure Lore states that he's just a thick lady by mutation. Scientific Inference indicates that while his powers would likely add some mass to him, he likely packed more meat on in order to better utilize his powers. Which is particularly apt when you consider his powers are actually gravitational in basis.
I know I said it before on another one of these December 2fer builds, but I am so happy and impressed with how many builds you’ve found a way to use the Rune Knight Fighter for. It may very well be my favorite Fighter subclass and I thought it would be too niche to use in a lot of these builds, but you have really gotten clever with how many different builds you made Rune Knight work for
@@Gabe600 unless you go with the FX show's version, which isn't switching up personalities and power sets. Still omega-level, but the powers are across the psionic spectrum.
When I was first getting into comics, Toad was trying to be a mastermind. I think he was in a bunch of New Warriors or X-Force issues, playing chess against Gideon and doing a bunch of plotting and planning behind the scenes. So originally I was gonna complain about his low intelligence score, but then I remembered that he was quickly put back in evil sidekick territory and Tulok knows what he’s doing. Anyway, I love these builds!
Also remember the time Toad played mastermind by trying to kidnap the Scarlet Witch to make her his queen because of a crush he had on her back in their Brotherhood days. She was pregnant though, and Toad couldn't understand how she had gotten so much "fatter," was disgusted, and left without kidnapping her.
that is how I remember him. Ultra high Int but nobody would take orders from. I do know they changed him but that can be said about damn near any comic character lol
Apparently in the comics Blob's real powers are, get this, body mass manipulation and personal gravity manipulation. On top of everything else, he can make his fists as big as a person and make things in an area implode by making himself heavy enough.
The toad part’s b-roll had a surprising amount of toad dunking on cyclops. I’m not against it, just surprised they let TOAD dunk on the hero leader man.
I love both of these builds but especially Toad since he's been one of my favorite X-men characters for a long time. In one of the various x-men novels, he's got enough leg strength to actually hurt the Juggernaut and keep from building up proper momentum
fun fact about Blob, his mutant power is to temporarily increase the gravity of himself and anything he touches, I don't know how much he can increase it by and most non comic book media doesn't tell his actual power but yeah that's why he can't be moved because he can potentially make it like you are trying to move a planet
More specifically he increases the directional gravity between himself and what he is standing on. So if you LIFT blob or make him jump his powers deactivate, rendering him movable. He also has a double secondary powers. Tough skin, kinetic energy redirection, a slight healing factor, etc.
Fun Fact: U Can Beat Video Games put out an "A Boy and His Blob" video on the same day as this one, so I had initially misread the video title and thought that this was a build for Boy and Blobert.
i probably would have chosen Dwarf because i thought Dwarves had resistence to being moved, but i was wrong. Goliath would have also fit the big boy though.
Not nearly enough clips from the 1990s X-Men series, Blob showed up in a few episodes of that, I don't recall any of Toad's appearances in that series though.

Hey Tulok, I recently found your channel and instantly fell in love with your videos, and i have an idea for a character build. Could it be possible to make a Kiryu Kazuma build from the Yakuza series?
Here's one for Christmas - Santa Claus. So, what does he need? Needs to eat a lot of cookies, and drink a lot of milk. Must also carry a sack full of toys. Must drive a sleigh pulled by reindeer. Must have infectious laugh. Starting off, is Race. The Big dude appears to be human, but given all the magic an whatnot he's been exposed to, possibly not any more. He's also been around for a long time - hundreds of years. Might go with some kind of Elf, but let's go Custom Lineage. For Stats, we're going to start with Strength, then Constitution, followed by Charisma, then Wisdom, Intelligence, and we'll dump Dexterity. Build Custom Background for Stealth, Slight of Hand, and Vehicle Proficiency - Sleigh could be land or air - and let's grab Animal Handling as our free skill. Bump up Strength, and grab the Chef feat, for delicious cookies. Bump up Constitution. Go Paladin to begin with, and snag Athletics and Persuasion. At Level 2, Unarmed Fighter - dude doesn't use weapons, normally. At Level 3, let's go Oath of Devotion. At Level 4, we're grabbing Inspiring Leadership - useful for cheering on the rest of the team not affected by the cookies. Now, bounce over to Bard, and grab Acrobatics. A Spell we need here, Tasha's Hideous Laughter - it's infectious. Grab Cure Wounds - might prove useful. Also, the Light Cantrip - there's a reason Rudolph's nose glows. At Level 3 Bard, go Collage of Lore, and grab History (to see who has been Bad or Good) Perception, to see in the fog, and Survival for dealing with really bad weather. At Level 4, bump up Strength and Constitution. Now, we jump over to Fighter. We're going Cavalier here - there's bound to be times when the big guy's sleigh doesn't work, and he needs to ride a single reindeer (reskinned Elk) to a repair store to get the needed tools. At Level 4, in a Surprising turn, going to bump Intelligence. Need it soon. Then at Level 5 - Extra Attack. Jump back to Bard, and get to 6th Level of Collage of Lore - grab the Fly Spell. Now, jump to Artificer, we're going Battle Smith, to get that sleigh. Spell we need is Enlarge/Reduce. Stat to cap off is Strength. The magic item to make - Bag of Holding. Pros - going to be pretty Strong, decent amount of HP, possibly AC (the Red Suit needs some re-interpretation), plenty of ways to heal up after a bad cookie, and several ways to add on temporary HP to the crew. Cons - Dexterity is a bit low, and neither Constitution, Charisma, nor Intelligence can be capped. Still, there's those reindeer, and they could all have different skills, and throw on a couple of helpful assistants to take care of those gaps in Santa's defenses. Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas! and Happy Holidays!

The Toad build was good but the Blob one was unnecessarily cheesy with a bunch of stuff that are thematically wrong even with reflavoring in mind. He is a simple boy. Big, absorbs all the damage and hits hard. And on top of that, you can make a considerably more accurate build with most of the PHB. Just pick Goliath and go Bear Totem barbarian/Champion fighter with Unarmed Fighting fighting style and for extra shenanigans, throw in the Crusher feat.
@@tulokthebarbrarian2033 That is an aspect of his power, an aspect that has virtually no relevance in a game like 5e. The Crusher feat I listed is literally one of the numerous ways to move creatures regardless of their builds, saves, etc. If your goal was to spice things up so you don't inadvertently do basically a duplicate build as you are now finding yourself lately so many characters deep, well, okay. That is understandable but don't act like it was to recreate his "immobility" power. The moment you added Rune Knight (a subclass centered around growing), you clearly were going off the rails.
