- Tool theft led us to take over London to make a stand, I couldn't buy a charger for my client and I got called out to a warranty job to discover someone is going around carrying out rogue EV installs to unsuspecting customers.
Hope you enjoy!!

I completely forgot to say that the protest was all about tool theft from vans and us lads have had enough of it!!
Thanks for the videos. Here's a little for a cup of coffee.
Thank you so much, really appreciated 🙏🙏
"It's accessible because I fitted it" Definitely stealing that, mate. Nice one :)
T&E external is either a C2 or a C3 depending on whether it has UV damage and to what extent
Agreed
the cage doors look good but they would just cut the roof to get in
There is always a way!!
Quality video, very informative WARNING regarding national socalled installers. Always read the T&Cs. Life can be very expensive when trying to sell a property.
Thank you and agreed!! Have a great week!!
The trouble with those internal security doors is that they've already done 1000s of pounds worth of damage to your vehicle before they find they can't get your tools so it's still going to take you time and money to resolve.
I always go T+E clipped direct outside C3, unless it has severe uv damage, causing the pvc to crack and potentially expose the conductors. If that is the case, it leans towards C2/C1 depending on how severe
Agreed
Its totally inapropiate in my opinion to use Twin & Earth outside 1: its inappropiate IP rating ( like a spunge soaks up water) 2 UV ( degrades quicky overtime) 3: Its not mechnically protected! C2 all day long( dangerous over time even if it takes 5 years)
That cu in the cupboard was fine mate, like tou say its the real word, i couldn't have done it simply because im getting on a bit and im not as bendy as i used to be 😂😂😂😂😂😂
This job will knacker all your joints, something for you to look forward to i guess 😂😂😂,top notch work as always mate, and as a side note just remember tou will never please the know it all haters that have nothing better to do than sprout bile all over the social media
Thank you for taking the time to comment and for your support, I appreciate you sir
This is the second video I've seen on it and if I could've afforded to fly out there it would've been so fun to watch from the sidelines.
Shame you couldn’t make it! Was a brill day!!
Another fantastic video !
With the bundy system it it best practice to leave your van unlocked , open or ajar
This is supposedly to reduce damage caused by thieves.
(According to comments made on the page )
This just doesn’t seem right and I can’t imagine how your insurance would react to this if your tools were ever stolen.
It’s a great preventative measure but unfortunately I don’t think it’s the answer.
Thank you! Yeah I would still be hesitant about leaving my doors open for sure!!
Just want to say that your briefing on the problems left with by the cowboy EVSE installer are infuriating to hear. I am looking for a charge point for our house but when I try to search for one I am bombarded with sponsored ads from national concerns.
Having once been stung by a big national/regional company who installed my driveway I learned a hard lesson.
I want to get the EV install done by a local reputable company who are prepared to listen to what I want, advise me on how best to achieve it and then do a good job. I am not chasing the cheapest quote, I want a good robust safe reliable install.
Keep up the good work, or maybe move to the peak district, I know of at least one install job waiting to be professionally completed.
Where abouts in the Peak District??

@@InTruServ I’m up for it 🤣
Anywhere close to Glossop?
We do about 30 EICR per Week, but we are in Switzerland, and here the EICR is mandatory for all Landlords.
That’s a lot! They are mandatory here also for landlords
Presuming you dont work weekends how can you do 6 eicr in a day ?
@@Stu12301 I imagine it’s not just him doing them
That waste pipe would've had to come off for me to fit in that kitchen cupboard 😂
🤣🤣
Hi.
How much time did you spend for testing? Some trade told me in 30 min. What do you think?
Hey big lad!
Have you thought about going as an octopus energy approved installer? Not sure what it’ll involve but might be worth chatting to them! If you can’t beat them join them!
Hello good sir! I shall have a think!! Thanks for the suggestion!!
@ good luck! Let us know how you get off!
@@stevendavies4006 will do sir!
Was considering doing an ev course. But with octopus trying to take over the market do you reckon it's worth me bothering?
Honestly mate, right now, I wouldn’t like to say yes or no.
Ev market race to the bottom I’m afraid mate
C3 for the t&e outside, talking to a young lad in the wholesalers and he reckons he does 3 eicr's a day 😂😂😂,me thinks he does them from the warmth of his van
I think your absolutely right 🤣🤣
What was the pen faukt board you used?
It was a WCED board mate, you can get them at the EV installers shop
Maybe 10 percent of EICRs i do pass, even new installs failing
That’s pretty shocking
@sotaelectrical this is commercial and industrial though so much larger chances of c2s
C3 I guess for the T&E outside
C2 twin & earth outside 🥶 ( definitely with no RCD)
So are you not a fan of the exterior boards anymore? Think you’ve installed them in the past right?
I have done a couple in the past but since the IET announced that they recommend they are not installed outside, I do my best to avoid it
@@sotaelectrical thanks for the reply and videos!
@@galenabraham9351 thanks for watching!!
Anyone can get an octopus EV charger no matter who their supplier.....
I don’t think you quite understood what I was saying
Pass 30 to 40 % EICRs plenty of C2s about.🥶
Interesting stats!
None the wiser as to why you went to london.
Protest against tool theft - I should have made that clearer
Ok
I guess English isn't your first language?
@@paulinturkey why would you say that?
@@sotaelectrical Because, if you are, you'd have to be blind and deaf not to work out, pretty quickly, what the protest was about.
I work for a social housing company and their motto is pass, if it is a fail we have to try to get it to pass.
But it’s easier with them its their houses and the only ones that fail have been subject to diy
