Great car for content creating ! I’ve noticed, no MOT since November ? Previous MOT states oil and coolant leak… a brave move driving it on the motorway. Subscribed ! Love the “ballsyness”.
Exact same breakdown happened with me. Temp trick similar to what you done - turn car off, turn ignition on but don’t start car, press accelerator for 30 seconds, then start car - this sorted for a 7hr journey. Replaced the MAF sensor once home which seemed to sort the issue.
Interesting video! The chirp on acceleration could be belts, but also could be something to do with the gearbox. I have a similar issue on an XK8 and the remedy was a change of gearbox oil as the old stuff was making the clutches stick and subsequent chirp as it engaged second or third at speed.
Just watched you going around the Nurburgring and then this popped up this morning, couldn't believe your the same fella 😅 Big car for a bigger fella! Great videos Subscribed!
Turbo actuators. One is easy to reach through the wheel well. The other is buried. Specialist garage said it was a body off job and 28 hours labour. My mechanic partially dismantled the exhaust and managed to reach up and lube the actuator and manipulate it to free it off. Cost me a couple of hundred quid in labour and the car was fine afterwards. These cars are no more unreliable than any other older car. Plenty of forums and experience out there to help maintain it. Having access to an Autel scanner is a bonus. Enjoy the majestic ride!
Get some live data from turbos (command/actuall ) n/s turbo normally goes and o/s turbo actuator sticks and possibly snaps the veins = low boost / = limp mode!! Ask me how I know lol
Never buy the cheapest, just a recipe for wiping out your bank balance... Just done 2830 miles in my 2011 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography and all good, correct and thorough maintenance is a must, just because it was cheap to buy it wasn't a cheap car originally and full of electrics. Sadly most can afford to buy them but not look after them first sign is budget tyres
1:40 'There are of course some issues' 😆 NO KIDDING! We all knew that already when you said L322 🤣 These have an absolutely woeful reputation here in Australia regardless of drivetrain. Maybe it's the hotter weather here affects them? Dunno. 🤷♀
For the price???….yea I would have bought it also. I bought my Range Rover sport for 4300.00 and honestly drove it maybe 25 times before it was an all over for it because of a blown head gasket.the episode is on my channel now
I have owned my L322 for about five years after a long period with three door, classics and P38. Their poor reliability rep isn't that deserved, on the whole they are easy to work on, parts are reasonably cheap compared to other makes and the enthusiast community is the best. They are not for the average motorist who runs to the dealer when an issue appears. They suffer mostly from Chinese whispers.... "I knew a mate who knew a person who lived next door to someone who had a large garage bill for their four year old L322" and it tends to be peeps who have never owned a RR or even a Land Rover, though the newer stuff is best avoided unless buying new? I do own a Volvo XC90 as a daily but that would go long before my L322 and then only to fund another L322. Fuel costs are the only niggle with my 4.4 petrol but it is what it is and do owe my life to the car.
Love a bit or Range Rover content! Faults, degunk the sensors in the manifold and clean it all out. Also clean the EGR or consider mapping it out, controversial I know. Great content! Subscribed!
People don’t be put off the Land Rovers if you live by the if it ain’t broke don’t fix the 0:15 you will pay dearly like most cars preventative maintenance is the key with most brands. If you just drive and don’t bother with any maintenance in a car you maybe better with public transportation as it maybe a cheaper option in the long run. But you will loose some independence up to you. I have been lucky having over 10 cars plus in my life all having done over 300000kms before any major work or some twat crashing into me and destroying them. Insurance always have insurance. All I do is half the oil intervals and every two years replace all other fluids if looks degraded it’s replaced. All cars have had original running gear and that included a p11 Primera first gen cvt m6 the most atrocious reliability. It made it to 385000 before given up ghost just changed the fluid every 50000. 0:15
I remember when I got a 2003 Toyota Sequoia with 170,000 miles, drove it for 70 miles at highway speeds home and no single code popped up... 4 years later still waiting for a break down and drive it daily. But it will be the most boring video on the RUclips
Ben, well done on creating content with the L322 for maybe a few months.....but it could be a painful 2025 for your pocket. Lucy on Cars is selling her good L322, I am sure she'd be open to an offer, but nowhere near £900.00 😂.
Interesting comments from people - I suppose it's like many vehicles like this (price and complexity). They get a bad reputation because let's face it, the majority of people who buy them 'cheap' treat them like a cheap car without performing maintenance and the required servicing. Yes there are common issues that are specific to the L322, but the same can be said for any vehicle. I've had mine for 3 years now, 2007 model, loads of history from the previous owner and it's been the most reliable car I've had. The only issue I've had with it was a rubber brake hose that decided it was too old and wanted to leak. Other than that, it's a great car and very versatile.
Just once I would like to see a clickbait thumbnail "I Bought The Most Insanely Expensive L322 In The World!!!" Why does a wealthy guy like you buy a cheap L322? That makes no sense.
@@be1441 They'll probably be glued on and a nightmare :\ Come on, first thing you need to do is blank the EGR's and get it tuned, modify then repair, every time!

@@Del_Boy_22 oh good. I’ve got some so will give all the sensors a spray 🤞
My dad's L322 4.2SC would throw a fault. You can put it in neutral and turn it off and back on again without stopping. Ours was a crappy injector.
Range Rover may soon be sale if the debacle with Jaguar plays out. Imagine if Toyota bought it, we could actually have a RR that is reliable.
