    I am a grandmother, a Canadian senior and on a high protein- moderate fat keto lifestyle. I believe that we have to be basic, making things from scratch. If you want a treat bake something,if you want just meat just cook meat. We get lost in the hype about keto foods which are expensive and here in Canada we don’t have access to a lot of products I see on other channels. As consumers we have choices, choose not to purchase processed junky foods,choose to read ingredients lists and nutritional labels. We are never going to stop companies from making garbage foods we need to stop buying them. My diet is not perfect but I bake and cook most of everything I eat and I do go out and couple of times a year. We have choices, you don’t have to be a baker or a chef, I live by trial and error. Thank you Dr. Berry! My heart is with all affected by the hurricane!🇨🇦

      I suggest you make sure to wear a mask. My husband of 43 yrs died in 2020 of a long bout with a rare lung disease called " Ideopathic pulmonary Fibrosis". He was a home garage woodworking hobbiest who never used a mask.
      Wood has molds etc. Plus the chemicals and glued used.
      His right lung got so stiff and Fibrous that it shriveled up and pulled his esophagus off center making it hard for him to swallow.
      I'm sorry to paint that picture.. but it's a reality.

      Senator Kennedy is making speeches about our diet and changes needed. If you have a country that 90% of the people are physically unfit, you cannot protect yourself from invasion from other countries. So an unfit country is a political concern. We had a similar health problem in WW1. We had so many people turned down by military due to rotten teeth, it was delaying our response to safeguarding our country. Then Pipsodent Tooth Paste was promoted and people started brushing their teeth. People changed their life habits. That is needed now, we have to change our life diet habits to meat.

      @@AshleyShannon-ir2ye I agree as an overarching comment but it's not quite as simplistic to say it is political. And my concern is that its easy to just blame Gov agencies as the issue, the gatekeeper BUT that's not where the problem lies.
      It lies in a few different areas of responsibility; firstly Corporations have a responsibility, a duty of care to do no harm. But profits are their #1 driver not the consumer health so they are going to do whatever they can get away with. BUT they are not off the hook as they knowingly recreate foods (aka industrialize) that are addictive in taste and convenience.
      Gov agencies should be free of influence but they are not because Big Corp, Pharma have deep pockets so influence policy makers etc.
      And we consumers AND shareholders now more than ever are aware with science data highlighting the negatives involved with consuming Ultra Processed Foods and Beverages. We are part of the solution and the problem.

    As a fellow health RUclipsr, I truly appreciate Dr. Berry's approach to separating health and nutrition from political discourse. It's crucial for us to focus on evidence-based practices rather than getting caught up in the noise of conflicting messages.
    One point I'd like to add is the importance of individualized nutrition. What works for one person may not work for another, and this is where personalized approaches, such as understanding one’s unique metabolic responses and dietary preferences, come into play.
    Additionally, I believe it's essential to highlight the role of community and support in making sustainable health changes. Engaging with others who share similar health goals can provide motivation and accountability, making the journey more enjoyable and effective.
    Thank you, Dr. Berry, for fostering this important conversation! Let's continue to empower our audiences with knowledge and practical advice that prioritizes health over politics.

Carnivore since my 70’s, recently moved to another city and got so unexpectedly disoriented by all the changes that I also must have thought I was a totally different person 😢. Began eating blueberries 🫐 and yogurt and other foods that I haven’t eaten in ages…. Got weeping lipodema(?) and now my knees are barely working… same with my hips, my feet, my brain….. you name it. I’m also the last of my friends still alive, which doesn’t help I’m sure. Except that none of this existed before the move. There’s evidence of extreme water damage to this apartment and I’m worried that this might be indicate black mold. I’m no longer trashing my body with inappropriate food, but I’m still concerned about how I’m not walking properly. I don’t have a doctor because nobody here seems to be taking NewPatients…..sigh. I’ll be 83 in two months. My cat Wilson is my guru and ❤❤❤❤❤.

    Love your RUclips informative chats. Keep up the good work... Nutrition is a political question because of the belief amongst many people that current animal husbandry practices results in the clearing of large amounts of wilderness. For example; look at what is happening to the Amazon. 1 acre of land can also feed more people on a herbivore diet than a carnivore diet (about 10 times more). There is however some hope on the horizon with the introduction of precision fermentation to produce meat like products that can be used to reduce this problem on less land. Perhaps you can do an episode on theses type of products?

    So we have a significant social problem, i.e., declining health across society. What's the root cause? In business, there are tools that are used to identify root cause. A common tool is the 5-whys method. When you apply the 5-whys method to any social ill, you are almost guaranteed to find coercive government intervention as the primary root cause. And it's easy to see that it's the government that is to blame for the current health crisis. Big Food and Big Pharma are playing a role too, but much of their malicious actions are through big gov.

    In your opinion..if someone is diagnosed with type2 , and imediately stops eating sugar, and blood sugar spiking carbs , eats lots of greens, salmon, walnuts , wheatgrass, etc.. and starts biking 10/15 miles daily.. and doesnt go on the meds is it safe? Being in ketosis a few days later.. seems some places online say its dangerous to go into ketosis after being diagnosed with high bloodsugar.. but perhaps thats only if you are on the meds??

    • @Ariella-mx3xq4cw6n
      @Ariella-mx3xq4cw6n Месяц назад

      The body prefers Ketosis. The reason it gets rid of carbs (sugar) so quickly is it doesn't like them.
      The max Glocose (sugar) there should be in the bloodstream is 1 teaspoon. The liver can make that for red blood cells.
      Wouldn't eat too many greens max of plants would be 50grams daily. Don't forget those oxalates. Boil them well and throw away the water that now contains the oxalates from the greens.

      Keto or Carnivore will reverse Type 2 back to normal withing 3-12 months. Wheatgrass is useless

    • @vidbybill
      @vidbybill 14 дней назад

      @KenDBerryMD after 5 weeks my fasting blood sugar today was 101. Regular wheatgrass water, wild salmon, eggs, (some) sea moss, plenty salads (up to 1 lb a day), coconut oil, olive oil, only very small amounts of carbs from non spiking veggies.. sheep/goat cheese, olives, nutritional yeast. Dry cracked heals went away.. vision improving. A1c was 11.3 blood sugar during test 5w ago was 250. Curious why you think wheatgrass is useless. Full of nutrients. Ive also biked 10-15 miles all but 1 day in 5 weeks. No meds. Oxcilates (previous response).. my greens come from wheatgrass water, lettuces, arugula.. no kale, no spinach..down 20lb in 5w. Intermittent fasting as well

    • @vidbybill
      @vidbybill 14 дней назад

      @KenDBerryMD again would love to hear why you think wheatgrass is useless.. yet you advocate grass fed butter? The cow is eating grass. That's much of what gives the cow (and it's products it's nutrients).. yes don't eat straight blades of grass. Understandable as we do not have 4 stomachs.. that's why we juice or blend it. When you cut grass into water in a vitamix.. and blend it.. All the white fiber rises to the top very quickly.. then you are left with green water full of nutrients) .. and I've then put the fiber into my Excalibur dehydrator and made paper with it . Did you ever follow dr. Ann Wigmore? Sprouts and grasses? Rye grass, barley grass, wheat grass? I have a wheatgrass water video on my channel if interested in the process at all... I do understand people are told not to use wheatgrass juice if they are on statens.. because you are then at risk of lowering blood sugars too low. Because the wheatgrass water also has the lowering effect. Trust me I watch lots of your content and much of it has helped me greatly in the last 5 weeks since my diagnosis.. my a1c 5weeks ago was 11 3... blood sugar test was 250.. today my fasting blood sugar was 101. Lots of excerise and diet change. So far so good. Been in ketosis for 4.5 weeks of the 5

    • @Ariella-mx3xq4cw6n
      @Ariella-mx3xq4cw6n 14 дней назад

      @vidbybill
      No such thing as grass fed butter.
      Wheat is modified grass.
      The cow with its 4 stomachs can process grass. We can't very well.
      Wheat is turned into sugar in the human body to process it. All carbs turned into sugar. Body does not like sugar. Gets rid of it as quickly as possible. Turns it into fat if not used immediately.

Like when a limb "falls asleep", and when whatever pressure is released, there is an uncomfortable nerve pain until everything is normalized?

I have added greek yoghurt & milk back in recently to get me closer to 12 1/2 stone. I don't think there is a one size fits all. I recall Dr Berg, another keto proponent, saying he is 6 ft 2 and around 13 stone. He is similar in stature to me, so for some of us adding a few carbs in is prob not a problem.
