Next time I will replace the rear shocks, I’ll cut a access door from inside the truck . It’s almost impossible to remove the top nut . I’m 6’ tall 😊. GR8 vídeo clip
No bro he’s missing very important parts like the adjustable sway bar links and traction bars , adjustable cross bar , think about it it’s going to be pushing everything higher , those bars and links and to short . I recommend 3 inch wheel spacers to , to give it that aggressive look along with better traction . Before i installed the wheel spacers I almost flipped my taco on the freeway entrance , now I can hit that circle fast no problem
Your still going to be needing adjustable traction bars to . I waited to instal my rough county lift kit until I ordered all the adjustable bars and links . + trans diff lowering kit
Did you have a camber on both front wheels ? I just did the same kit on my 3rd gen same exact year and model as yours and I have camber on both front wheels.
i dont remember off the top off my head but i dont think its directional. if they were, im sure i would have included in the video. sorry that im not for sure
Hello I have the question. When you install in front the spacer (in your case 3'') you dont have change also the upper control arm ? You can leave the orginal one ? Because I see, when you installed the spacer so the upper control arm goes lower. Its not a problem ?
yes, we left the original ones on. you can loosen the tension on the control arm mounts. and once the trucks on the ground, you can tighten the mounting hardware at its new idle position.
Had a rough country lift on my square body Chevy I would never use this lift again. Pure trash. If you never go off road I guess you’ll be OK but eventually those shocks blow fast.
I would of drop the driveshaft and have a jack stand hold up the driveshaft lower the whole rear end and raise the dead end up with the jack and springs
It says Rancho in the title but you're using Rough Country gear. That's major clickbait huh. Rough Country and Rancho are incomparable in quality, Rancho being the far superior brand, you only have to check out the forums to find that out or skimp and buy a rough country lift kit due to bad advice. In addition front spacers are not the answer at all?!!
@K9TRX850 what i think happened, i did a video back in the day with an xterra lift kit that used Rancho. and at the time of upload must have just slipped my mind between the 2 brands.
Well cheers for correcting the title but the damage is probably done huh. I don’t reckon it does much for your credibility to endorse rough country gear for a 3rd gen 4runner but at least it provided entertainment for the 3rd gen owners in the know. Some noob 3rd gen owner is gona go out and buy that gear because of this video. The title changed but i think it’s the gear you used that needs a change. For the viewers who read this far, BUY RANCHO not rough country.
@@Ohmborough the kit was bought by the owner of ghe truck. i just installed it...... yeah i understand what your saying about the newbie first time buyer. lets just hope they used the video as just a guidance on install and not a review for the quality of kit itself.
@@Ohmborough chill out bro. The guy was super helpful and im buying the lift kit because of this video, don’t start crying. No need for negative comments bro…
I would like to take the time to thank you for making this video.

At the time of ibstall. The owner did now get this done.
What size are your tires after the lift. Looks nice.
You are the man!!!!
Hey Hercules how did you do this
Did you have a camber on both front wheels ? I just did the same kit on my 3rd gen same exact year and model as yours and I have camber on both front wheels.
How much camber???
Got an 02 4Runner thinking of installing this lift kit. Any recommendations on a set of 31" tires that will fit the stock rims?
Thanks!
@@CptJera sorry, i dont own the truck, i just installed the kit.
So i dont have experience with any tire setups.
@@hyr0llr No worries. Thanks!
Your not going to instal adjustable sway bar links in rear ? Adjustable cross bar ?
You should yes. The owner did not get them at this time
Old video-but am I wrong or is your front brake like wrong ? Looks like it’s twisted?
time stamp?
NIce vid bro very thorough!
Thank you for the feedback
Que medida de llanta sería la adecuada para ese kit

What were the measurements for both the rear sides? i have those coils sitting around but i want to know if ill have driver side lean with them
38". you should have sag when you install new springs.
So the rear sitting lower than the front is normal?
Do you recall if the rear coils had a R and L or were they the same? I installed these and ended up with passenger being about inch higher
i dont remember off the top off my head but i dont think its directional. if they were, im sure i would have included in the video. sorry that im not for sure
@@hyr0llr You are correct, I contacted RC and they are identical coils, seems I might have a low front strut causing this lean.
@@randyzelenay7232 gotchaaa. thats a possibility. let me know when you find the cause of why its leaning.
@@randyzelenay7232did your lean ever correct itself or what did you do to correct it. I have the same issue
No diff drop ?
not for this kit no.

Good video thank you
how does It ride on road? is it stiffer?
i dont have an answer sorry.. this truck ilwas for a friend of a friend.

Does the 3" lift need the panhard correction? I'm about to order a complete RC 3" lift kit but not sure if that's all I need.
for this truck, he did not run one. but i can see the benefit of running. one. So if your able to get one, i would say it would say go for it.

I’m confused if you can elaborate please I’m a beginner about to tackle this project
Does that work for a 2wd?
if you have the same front suspension then it shojld be the same

with a lift block for the front is 300. or with a whole new strut coil setup its 600
