4:38 No joke, I actually watched this film with the English subtitle and that scene, they actually said these Aliens live in the Asteroid Belt, and the text did not say planets but comets/asteroids.

I feel bad for Varan because he only appeared in two films that were both really old. I feel like he is slowly being forgotten.
He did appear in Rulers of Earth, and even helped out in the final battle. As well as Godzilla: Unleashed.
Anguirus dosen't actually die if i remenber well.He just gets defeated on Godzilla raids again and later on reappears on godzilla vs gigan.
No, he has his throat bitten by Godzilla who then totally incinerates Agnuirus' body with his flame breath.

Man this movie gave quite the middle finger to Manda, Baragon & Varan.
The final episode of Monster Island Buddies was even more in-your-face about it to Manda.
Alex Lemonds Manda at least does something. But I wish Varna and Baragon got more to do. Varan in particular is also getting screwed over
Honestly you'd think Baragon would want to go in help kill Ghidorah. He's the only other Earth Kaiju besides Godzilla & Minilla that can breath fire. Gee, I wonder if that would be useful.
Alex Lemonds very true. The worst part is if they'd had a slightly longer shooting schedule, they might've been able to slip Baragon in the fight, because they finished the new suit at the end of filming.
And Manda could constrict around Ghidorah's three necks while Rodan & Varan double pounce on him from above.

So many people love this just because it has so many of TOHOS famous monsters. I found this moving so irritatingly boring with the monsters barely being in the movie. And people complain that Godzilla is barely in the 2014 movie and this movie gets a pass?
I actually rewatched this not to long ago and I timed how long just godzilla was on screen and it was 5 minutes and 23 seconds.
Gareth Edwards movie was in there close to 12 minutes.
The other monsters were less than that of Godzilla.
I hope in Godzilla 2018-19 there is more Godzilla footage.

Fun fact: a company by the name of Revoltech made an Anguirus figure and the only accessory it had was that rocket.
The whole movie should have been based on that New York attack, along with the other major cities and cut out the alien stuff

It’s ironic that Gigan didn’t team up again with Ghidorah in this movie.
I like that once the hold was broken godzilla knew who his enemies were. A far cry from the pea brain he is called in the original Kong vs Godzilla movie. (American version)

Not one of my absolute favorites, but still a very entertaining movie nonetheless. Every scene with the monsters in them kicks ass though. And the final fight with Ghidorah was AWESOME
to add on to the "avengers but with kaiju" joke...black widow would be kumonga.

when i saw this at the movies in the 60s 1999 was like almost 40 years in the future. very believable back then, haha funny now. but i was only 8 years old then

I hated Zilla when it was "Godzilla" but as its own stand-alone monster he's pretty darn cool.
I love Destroy All Monsters. But, my God, the Toho English-language version is AWFUL! The AIP English-language version, which was shown on TV until the late ‘80’s, is far superior.

One thing still bothers me. Only most of the monsters are on the island, except King Kong, King Caesar, Megalon, Titanosaurus, and the giant octopus were left behind.
This movie came out in 1968 King Caesar appeared in 1974 megalon in 1973 and titanosaurus in 1975

Hey Alex, how do you watch these movies? Do you have a region 2 (or 1 can't remember which) DVD player or can you download them off somewhere safe?
I don't care what anybody says, I loved this movie and all the others. As far as I'm concerned, Godzilla, who already has a star on the hollywood walk of fame and earned a lifetime achievement award from MTV, should also have a lifetime achievement OSCAR!!!!!!!!!!!!! AMPAS-(The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences) should give lifetime achievement awards to the families of Akira Ifikube, Ejai Tsuburaya, Tomoyuki Tanaka, and Ishiro Honda-(The creators of this franchise). This behemoth of a monster has entertained audiences for decades, given children joy (Of which those kids grew up to make monster movies of their own, both motion picture and animated.), inspired other studios to create something similar (Pacific Rim, Power Rangers, Ultraman, Johnny Sokko and his Flying Robot, Voltron, and of course Gamera.) Such work should be recognized. I know some of you think I'm being silly thinking this way, and I know he's no Merryl Streep or Denzel Washington, or no Julia Roberts or Tom Hanks. But if they (the Oscars) gave them all lifetime achievement awards for their tireless work over the last 64 years, it would not only be cool to see for people like me (And yes, there are people like me the world 'round that like/love/treasure these movies from when they were kids, probably collected them all and are probably going to pass them onto their children so they could enjoy them just as they did.), But it would also be just. For what better award to give this monster and his/her creators (It reproduces asexually so I can't say him or her.) than a lifetime achievement Oscar. After all, didn't all of them spend an entire lifetime entertaining all of us? Now and when we were kids? Or are all just a bunch of Rex Reeds, Gene Siskels, Roger Eberts, Gene Schallaters, and Leonard Maltins, way too grown up to remember what it felt like when we first saw these movies and how they took us on a trip to a place where such things, places and creatures existed? It's funny, they gave lifetime achievement awards to Bela Legosi-(Dracula), Boris Karloff-(Frankenstein), and Lon Chaney-(The Wolfman). Why not give it to the biggest movie monster of them all?

Somewhere in my garage is a bootleg VHS with a different (original) English dub that is much better. This version was copy written and cannot be sold, so all the public dubs you can buy are the second horrible dub.
Well RE: missing the monsters with the rockets & other projectiles....let's be honest: There are, after all, people in those costumes so the movie makers don't want to really blow up their stuntmen.
