Definitely my favorite speed run. Hikaru has not even had to resort to flagging more than a couple of time. I feel like that's going to get him a few wins as opponents get stronger.

This is incredible. It doesn't matter that there's no queen because he just gets the pawn structure he wants, and then doesn't trade, and then optimizes position of every piece; and because he sees the board perfectly without really looking while answering questions in the chat he just gets into better and better situation as his opponent blunders... and eventually he gets the queen back one way or the other. Truly incredible, I never knew such thing would be possible.
I know Hikaru is like one of the best in the world but the fact that he has only lost 4 times and beat 195 people after sac-ing his queen is just legend status.
What a fantastic player , I love it when he says, "I'm going to win now"!

I think he said 1800 but that might be true for 10 minute games, most people are just shit at 3 minutes whereas Hikaru is literally the best player in the world at 3 minutes (his rating is slightly higher than Magnus's.)

Very instructional how to play with pieces against a Q.
Noting the extreme importance of when the Q sac is made, at that moment it's important to identify exactly what the other side is now lacking with the missing piece. And then, moving with extreme precision afterwards avoiding blunders.

Elden Ring has zero issues with controller but it is definitely hard, performance issues have been ironed out for the most part :)

At my college, the highest rated player besides me is 1800 OTB. I played a rapid game against him where I gave him queen odds and still won. Again. 2400 OTB vs 1800 OTB. He played well, but he allowed too much counterplay and had to give back material to prevent checkmate and lost by one tempo in an endgame. But the fact that Hikaru can just casually grab W’s at 2000 ELO down a queen is insane.

I’m rated 2000. If I am winning against any player rated 2500 or above I will still lose 95% of the time. They play quicker and see stuff way quicker than me. Then I blunder or just gradually fade away my advantage.

The glitches of Elden Ring are old news from when the game came out - they got patched out fairly quickly. It was mainly performance issues on PC. You shouldn't have any issues now.
The only glitches that are still in the game are used by speedrunners only, and normal players are very unlikely to encounter them.
You should definitely play the game - it's absolutely amazing. I'm saying that as someone who never played a Souls game before.

@@jestice75 Not really, Hikaru is arguably a better bullet player. most of their games are draws, and their overall score is around 65-35 with 100+ draws. Not exactly 'murdering'

Elden Ring runs flawlessly on my PC. I've never had one glitch or crash and I'm well over level 100. I'm not sure why you're hearing about all the glitches and such. Having said that, it IS a very hard game but isn't that why we love chess over Tic Tac Toe? Easy is boring.

I played some amateur while in high school now I just started from begining, took me 4 weeks "kinda part time " to grind to 1200 and going smooth with the Queen ;D not quite sure where I will land but If those are 2000 players I am being optimistic
If you're practicing for less than 45min a day seriously, you will probably need more than 18 months to get anywhere near 2000
