@@melvin0833 coal plants are converting to natural gas. Alma dairyland and KCPLs sibly plant are examples of powerplants that were closed. over time solar panels and wind energy are replacing it. the peak year of the basin was 2005 - 2008 and it has never reached that again.
Wow!! You got some absolute gold! Countless meets, excellent weather, and professional class videography. Kudos! If I may ask, where specifically is this location? I’ve not been able to find it on a map. South of Gillette as all I’ve determined.
Thank you so very much for this video. I had lunch watching it. I was wondering how many cars on the coal train? There was Pom train that was working really hard thought it would stall. In closing thank you this video
Thanks to the Left’s war on coal, these shots are near impossible now. Main #4 is now used for storage, and they’re actually running manifest and intermodal trains on that line now due to lack of coal trains. Unheard of a decade ago! Sad sight.
The length of these train's & the pier of the diesels is amazing.
will never see that much action there again.....glad someone was there
Just curious but why wont there be that much traffic there anymore?

Thanks airing and sharing the outstanding video with magnificent locomotives. Endeavors are prominent. Bliss
Threading the needle with a three-train meet. Excellent!
Mile plus long trains pulling thousands of tons up a hill. Serious power

North on Rt 59 from Bill, then into Thunder Basin Grasslands on, I think, USFS 942. A lot less traffic these days.
Coal and oil are necessary
Awesome ❤

About 100 +/-, 10,000 tons.
Any idea why the trains move slowly in this area?
Heavy trains, fairly steep grades.
Anyone have coordinates or location of this bridge?
North out of Bill, Wyoming on Rt 59, forest Service Rd 942 on the right. Lot less traffic these days.
when was this filmed?
I retired from the video business 10 years ago, so before that, probably 2010-ish.
A few years ago I saw a Coal. Barge on the. Ohio river

pity they are not electrified. In Sweden all trains are electric via cabel
The coal trains go to a variety of different power stations. The USA is vastly, vastly larger than Sweden.
That's a whole lot of carbon footprint.
Gotta keep those Teslas on the road.
