Victor's been a hero of mine since I first discovered the Flecktones like 20 years ago. So good seeing him rock out again, still bringing fresh new sounds.
That Chicago show was beyond amazing. You could tell they all felt it harder that night.
Man I totally missed this, and would give anything to actually know about shows I want to go to without signing up for 4500 different things and having to weed through all those crap spam emails!

Victor is the true bass god, he proves that bass is not always about slapping (which is overrated IMO)

He has been suffering of focal dystonia for a few years now, clearly is getting worse lately, i noticed watching videos of him playing dean town with Cory and only used two fingers the whole song
Here is his explanation about this:
"Basically, the easiest explanation and most accurate explanation I've ever heard of it is that the brain sends a jumble of information to the hands, and the hands don't respond.
So, for me right now, if I lift my hands and think about playing the bass, these three fingers want to curl into a ball. I have to work to not let them do it, and they start doing that if I think about playing the bass. They want to curl under the neck, so I get them onto the neck, my hand is tense, and they don't want to curl. So when my fingers are straight up here on the E string, they work pretty well. Soon as I get to the A string, the D, forget about it - to play a simple do-re-mi-fa-sol-la-si is difficult"

Believe it or not, the trombone player here, Michael B. Nelson, does all of the horn arrangements, and actually played on Billy Jack Bitch, along with his horn section The Hornheads

@2.40 Billy Sheehan (or maybe Stuart Hamm, or Mark King etc, any tapping or slapping bass players) is hiding in the shades, jaw dropping.
Victor Wooten is so far superior, technically & (most importantly) musically, groove-ly, few times multiplied above them all. The GOAT of bassist.
