Bass helped me through a lot. What a gift to be informed by a living legend. I wish I could go to camp.

UHD is my alma mater. I graduated in 1994. I had no idea Mr. Wooten visited there. Nice!

I enjoy when musicians teach in such a candid way as this. We love Victor. And of course Uncle Larry Graham. I will speak to him soon and share this with him! Teach one! Each one!

Thanks, Tamar! Uncle Larry... that's bass royalty right there. I recall a video of his where he talks about how he invented thumping because a drummer wasn't available. Innovation from a time of necessity. Yes... each one teach one!

I highly recommended it. The music is just the tip off the environment…
The music, the people, the nature. Can’t beat it!

Thanks. Glad you liked it! On a side note... I didn't start learning how to play an instrument until my mid 40's!

I'd love to see a non- musician pick up a bass guitar and play "3 blind mice" with a open string drone, cleanly in time. That would be extremely unusual .and unlikely , VW. In my experience as a teacher. your'e doing well if a rank beginner can hit the open E string consistently and in time. fretting say, a d flat on the d string and hitting the correct string with the finger in 8th notes and fretting cleanly in time with good articulation is beyond the scope of a rank beginner, as far as I have seen. And a groove that is in the pocket can survive for far more than 16 bars. A sloppy , limp groove that changes feel every bar is not worth the amount of beats it contains.
