@1kaicastle So of course I was making a bit of money before hand, but believe it or not between Videos and livestreams with super chats I was able to pay my bills after a month :) I was making about on Par to my animation gig after about 3 months!
What a rough journey you've had! And still swinging after all that's been going on? My hat is off to you. It's inspiring to hear your story and the results you've had with your persistence!
I went all in on YT after losing my job due to a mental breakdown. Decided to try it as a hobby and a way of distracting me from the bad thoughts. 9 months later, 30K subs with less than 40 videos! I’m blown away by the growth! Just wish I’d started long before!
I'm amazed that your videos do so well just using still photos and narration. I thought that you'd need to have video. Did your first videos take off immediately?
I started to treat my channel like a business before I even launched the channel. I found a niche with high demand and low proposition. I counted that I needed at least 15 videos per month It was 150 hours of work. Then I created my first 50 videos and got about 3-4k $.
I recently decided to get deadly serious about You-Tube I decided when I say I want to make RUclips my job that means the amount of time I spend on it should be the same as on a normal job as I had the switch in mindset my channel started exploding (by my standards anyway) +98 subscribers in the last 28 days and counting and that was treating it like a part time job (22hours per week) now I’m about to go full time 40 hours per week spent working on RUclips and I expect even better growth

Being in the hot seat day in day out is wearing and not without a little stress ( stressed who me ...) IMO the biggest thing I'm learning is to stick to a theme and make small changes. Canadian Guy Eh's story really spoke to me as I've been unemployed for some time now, the difference being that I left an unhealthy job on my own terms. The other difference is I don't have many obligations which has led to a lot of procrastination on my part. What this video has taught me is that I need to focus on promoting myself in order to have a chance at building a community here on RUclips. It was also cool of Canadian Guy to mention Reddit as I've been unsure of where to promote my content & didn't want to resort to using Facebook etc. I'm gonna take some time to find places where my future audience congregate & we'll see how I get on.

I've always found promoting my videos on other social media to be quite tricky. So many places that I think would be ideal, like certain Facebook groups or subreddits, have a 'no promotion' policy and if you try to post your own videos in them your post gets deleted or you even get kicked out of the group. I wonder what the answer to this is.
Shorts are best to get subscribers. Post shorts everyday when people are chilling on their phones. (Like in my country people chill on their phones around 7:30 pm. My short yesterday got thousands of views at 8 pm and 4 am)
This is a great and very morality boosting video. Tho, a word of advice, for all of you using social media to boost your content, same as me. BOTS are everywhere and especially on reddit, you will get bombarded pretty often with people who will try to scam you or sell you their SEO, coaching, boosting services. It's annoying to deal with them on a regular basis, but if you power through it, you can meet some great people and nice communities. Blessed be, fellow tiny creators.
Great story but reality check. I just went to his channel: He has posted 10 videos over the past month, with a combined total of 117,000 views. 117,000 views / 1000 multiplied by $4-$6 = $468-$702 per month. Now he may make hundreds more in live stream with super chat but it's not like he is pulling in $10,000 a month. In fact, I would imagine he is on the lower end of an average salary. Now, his older videos some did take off and those probably help offset an average video. If he gets that 100,000 on one video that takes off, then the monthly average is much higher. Source: I am a gaming channel that pulled in 210,000 views from long form videos last month and netted just under $1,000
Wow, very inspiring story. Kudos to Canadian guy for taking the risk. Whereas the best case scenario is to have a "normal" job while your channel grows sometimes you have to take a leap of faith. For me I'll stick to my day job as my channels grow
watching with roughly 12,400 subscribers. right now i do this as a hobby (and yes I am monetized) whenever I'm not at school. I do only have a couple days left though and then it's summer break
Well I guys he had a couple of things working in his favour, he was educated in editing, he was in a niche not populated to hard so competition wasn't that big and he had 5k subs. I started my channel with no editting skill, a populated niche cause this is what I enjoy and no subs to start. To give the full story I'm not layed of but health decided to turn life upside down what makes me not able to do hand labor or sit at an office 8h a day. RUclips for me is a way to stay busy and not feel well you know what I mean. Not every story is ment to succeed
Im 38. And not secure financially. But I quited my job a year ago and start planning and learning RUclips. 4 months later I started my channel and honesty it's not doing well but I will continue another 2 years for sure.
Wow so relatable. I had a video on checking a cereal box as my airline. I thought it would be great and posted it and waited for the views to come pouring in. I am still waiting on the views 😂🤣
I love tech but I really don’t know if it was my content niche because I find it hard to get topic and all that, it feel that I’m really not doing anything or growing
Hey so last month on my girlfriend and her sister and I's podcast we began to put more attention to detail and follow the tips this channel always talks about. Since then we've gone from 0 subs to over 1k and are now waiting for monetization. I think the key points that are always reiterated played the largest factor, as our largest viewed video did not do well in the beginning until RUclips figured out the audience for it. Sometimes you have to keep posting and understand your goal and your audience and then it will all come together. Of course in picking the niche we also understood how we could appeal to the target audience. Keep trying guys and you'll find success!
I've been a children's entertainer for over 10 years now.. Hoping that I can one day be successful on RUclips with music videos... However I've watched loads of tutorials, putting in links, adding tags, creating thumbnails everything that suggesting to do and my videos still aren't being pushed out. Really not sure what else could possibly do to help with this. X 🤔

It IS a full-time job here on YT and I am still loving it, but when will people notice that I really genuinely love helping with steps to quit your 9-5 and making money from anywhere... Topic after topic, I really try to make it super helpful for my viewers. What more can I do? People definitely want to quit their jobs, that's for sure. I will keep learning, learning, improving each video and I keep going, just like so many others here!!! Thank you
Great vid. I watched from start to end. Curious to know what did he do to get more serious coz I thought he was already serious with making youtube live, building a community during his 5K sub.
Im soo much gonna go full time on youtube with only 39 views and an average of 30 to 55 views pr video xD (Not likely just sounded really good xD) This is an excellent example of sometimes you hit a lucky streak and you manage to position your self into the perfect position! Imagine if they didn't remake Spyro! that would have sucked big time (love that game as well) Its so nice to hear stories like this, it really gives us faith that some good things can happen on youtube! keep stories like this coming!
Thanks Vid Iq for another informative post!!! My best advice after watching this is to keep doing you as a content creator. What you put into life you’ll get out of life!!
This story really resonates with me, every aspect of it, the hard times and the real-life events. I'm happy for you CanadianGuy! This videos really motivates me to keep going, create more (in my case is music: original and remixes of videogame music), collaborate, have a big community, and be a referent to other artists out there! Maybe one day I could be the protagonist of a success story in a vidIQ video! But until then, I'll keep working on the dream 🤘
I am trying so hard to make this work. I published my first video a month and a half ago and I am almost to 1000 subscribers. It has gone so fast I don't even remember it all. Vidiq has helped me so much! I try to watch every video! I've been watching this channel for months in preparation for the launching of my channel.
Posting on Reddit is like asking someone to come to your house and criticize your shower curtains. If anyone is considering sharing videos there, be mindful that first people to comment on it will invariable be people complaining because you did a thing in first 30 seconds that they didn't like, and somehow feel you need to know that.
I just started uploading shorts to try and capture peoples attention when I get more of a following I’ll upload actual videos, I’m not tryna be the biggest but just trying to do this for fun and see how it goes! It takes time but I’m all in it
That was a good video. I have been building my channel around model cars...well, this channel anyway. I also own an online hobby shop that I refer to in my RUclips videos. I'm also Canadian..lol! I just need to hit that major growth point to increase my income.
I’ve only started to get serious about RUclips a few months ago and I’m even surprised I made it close to 300. As long as I keep going there’s no way I can’t make it to 10,000
Vidiq, i have i very important question. Sometimes when i upload a video i work really hard on, the comments get disabled. I make sure the comments are on when i am uploading it but they just get turned off. This makes my videos get like no views. How do i fix this?
This is so inspiring! But also feels like such a dream to even get to 10k subs O_O I think something really key is finding your niche and sticking with it, but I think that's the hardest part for me. I'm definitely stuck in that "random pile of garbage" phase on my channel and having no sense of direction with it...
My Channel got monetized after 17 Days, because i hit the spot with my first Video, that went viral. Now, 14 Weeks later, I've got 11.600 Subscribers BUT I have to quit RUclips, because Haters are making my life a living hell. THIS is, what you'll get also, if you are making RUclips videos.
To all the small and new creators! Keep going, our time is coming! I am definitely taking a risk with the amount of money I have spent on the equipment to film lol good luck everyone!
I think risks is what makes a channel. You can't just do the same thing over and over again. You need to risk it. Try uploading about something different. If you're making shorts, try making a full video. If you upload only full videos, try shorts.
It’s hard not to think about numbers. I’m currently at 124 subs and I’m hoping to hit 200 by the end of this month. Then maybe 1K by sept 1st. Then I can start looking at 10K. But first, we have to remember that word: community. That’s what it’s all About.
Thank you SO Much for Having me VidIQ!! You all are great!!

This is an excellent example of sometimes you hit a lucky streak and you manage to position your self into the perfect position! Imagine if they didn't remake Spyro! that would have sucked big time (love that game as well)
Its so nice to hear stories like this, it really gives us faith that some good things can happen on youtube! keep stories like this coming!
Loved this one, Rob! Awesome story and super inspirational - much love! 🫡
I took a 2 month hiatus because of an injury but this video is inspiring!
I am going all in too. Wish me luck.
Thanks Vid Iq for another informative post!!! My best advice after watching this is to keep doing you as a content creator. What you put into life you’ll get out of life!!
Great words!
@@vidIQ thanks Vidiq! You help content creators like me on the daily!! I appreciate you!
I like your consistency on youtube I'll give you a sub
@@blake0930 Blake thank you so much for the Sub! Consistency is key!!! Thank you!
LOL love Thumbnail, but I'm more like RUclips = Negative 10K in cameras, PC, lighting, microphones, Software, Travel, etc
How much time should I devote to RUclips?
Can someone explain what’s going at VIDIQ ? The strategy is not working is something wrong with the system?
I've tried sharing my stuff on socials, but many of the main groups and subreddits for my niche don't allow self promotion.
Much needed video. Really very encouraging. I don’t know how I m gonna do that, but I will definitely focus more towards my goal. Thank you !!
I love the real example of a youtuber who made it happen!
VidIQ! I watched your channel when I first started my channel and finally hit 100 subscribers yesterday!
Okay, but what were the income sources? Surely not just RUclips adsense.
Thanks vidiq! ✌️
Such a wholesome & heartwarming story! Thanks for sharing and thanks for all the motivation!!! 💪
It takes time but I’m all in it
I have decided to go full time on RUclips.
TBH i will play around until i'm bless by the audience..untill then godspeed to all the full-time creator lend me some of your power😎
Go for it and check out the video on how to get 1000 subs!

This is an amazing and inspiring story! Thank you so much for sharing it!
Cat 🤣😍want some attention
glad Canadian Guy pulled it off, not heard of him before
Thanks Dan
I look at it right now as as side job but if I get enough traction I'd go full time
That was a good video. I have been building my channel around model cars...well, this channel anyway. I also own an online hobby shop that I refer to in my RUclips videos. I'm also Canadian..lol! I just need to hit that major growth point to increase my income.
Wow as a gaming channel this was so informative thank you
I’ve only started to get serious about RUclips a few months ago and I’m even surprised I made it close to 300. As long as I keep going there’s no way I can’t make it to 10,000
Obstacle is your friend. Keep pushing!
Vidiq, i have i very important question. Sometimes when i upload a video i work really hard on, the comments get disabled. I make sure the comments are on when i am uploading it but they just get turned off. This makes my videos get like no views. How do i fix this?
Any videos for those starting from 0
Great video. Love the perspective.
10 million shorts views is like 10k subscribers 💪
What an incredible story, super inspiring.
Do copyright claims affect you getting monitized??? Btw I’m doing a school project on the RUclips algorithm.
No they don't! Only if you get community guidelines strikes!
You wouldn’t be making any money though if that’s what you wanna start doing so try to make things the best you can!
@@vBurniiOnRUclips You would be surprised mate! Sometimes things happen!
Great video as always ! Thank you, you helped me to take this hardest step - start. Now a long and beautiful journey begun.
We’ll all make it,let us not give up,Good luck to y’all
Something the world should know 1:52
This is so inspiring! But also feels like such a dream to even get to 10k subs O_O I think something really key is finding your niche and sticking with it, but I think that's the hardest part for me. I'm definitely stuck in that "random pile of garbage" phase on my channel and having no sense of direction with it...
Almost 10K subs, and I'm still hoping to go full-time YT some day.
Hopefully I can get there one day
I did it with 61k Subs but there is way more to it than just that.
That's a lot of subs
Woah! Amazing result! Congrats!
Fo you have any tutorial or tips no face showing?
Thank you for your help! 😊💪💪
You got this!
Damn this is some resilliance! Good job Canadian guy!
Such a great video! Thanks for this!
RUclips as a career requires patience, time, commitment, and hard work.
That's what I'm doing😎
@@Gamerrelm1.0_relm Awesome 😎
This was awesome! Thanks for all the insight! 🔥🔥🔥
Am on 41,000 subscribers and still not full time.
I was recently layed-off with only 1.4K family members 😢
I guess I should go full time 🤷🏾♂️
Do it! Ramp up those numbers, man.
Thank you so much, for your incredible work and help.
Thank you
It’s hard not to think about numbers. I’m currently at 124 subs and I’m hoping to hit 200 by the end of this month. Then maybe 1K by sept 1st.
Then I can start looking at 10K.
But first, we have to remember that word: community. That’s what it’s all
About.
Go for it!
