This is one of the best restorations of an F code. There is quite a few guys involved in restoration parts for them today. I make brackets and pullies for them as the originals have become almost impossible to find.
Thanks for your complement, Frank, especially considering your expertise! The later '50's Fords, in general, have finally come into their own. The F code has to be one of the creme d' la creme of the line.

THE 1954’s engine (57:289ci) froze up after much driving in 1965, & we found a 1956 Fairlane /INTERIOR B,UE Velour/White EXT/auto/4 Door/TBIRD/*Fender Skirts(?),etc., No Miles **& a Special Model(??), & totalled *in freak accident after couple months: the 56 Special would have been the Keeper Car. * The next was 61 Ford Convertible/ Sunliner/352( boo)/ auto, that unfortunately was ran hard & extensive Repaint/ Body work , had to get a 1966 GALAXIE x500 XL/4 speed/ Burgandy /352/ ,but no air..c, , or Disc Brakes; I got a lot of upgrades * pretty good car ( sort of like JAY LENO’s 1966 Ford , ex no 7 LITRE/Etc.)……
That Galaxie 4spd is a rare bird!!! Discs were also a rare option in American cars. They were standard on a lot of imports. Thanks for sharing the memories, Opera!

Never really was a ford guy however I always liked the 57ford and this is the nicest one I have ever seen not to mention the history the owner has with the car it's almost like that car was made only for him and I couldn't imagine anyone more deserving you can tell he is really into the car 🚗

I'm a Tri-Five Chev nut but always loved the body style of the '57 Ford more than the '57 Chev. The shorter wheelbase sedans as this car seem to emit more of that race vibe than the Fairlane.
So did the public. Ford outsold Chevy by 7,329 in the 1957 sales year. 1,522,406 vs 1,515,177 but Chevy sold more in calendar year '57. What is interesting, look at today's values of the two. Also consider the production numbers. Now compare those figures to the other " low production " cars of '57. The finest Forward Look Plymouth and Dodge are finally catching up in the collector's car market.
to replace the vacuum wiper motor, a stock electric motor bolt on is from a 56 Chevy, Buy a 3 way switch. In early 80's restored a 57 Ranchero (2 years) Had a "warm" 302 and looking for body, Ended up rebuilding the 272, A/T, P/S, with a Town & Country radio. Lot of cash offers , wish still owned!
Great info, Kessler!!! At Hershey, cars have to be accurately restored to factory specs. If this was a driver, your conversion would be a must! Ford had such a great line in '57, from this F code, to the Skyliner and, of course, the Ranchero, which re-introduced the " ute " to the American market. Thanks for the video. I always loved the 57's, it must be really rare to find an F Code. I owned a '58 Custom 300, blue and white, 352/300 engine and 3 speed on the column plus overdrive. No power robbing options like AC or power steering. Sold the car in '82 but still miss it.
Keep an eye open for another one, but the 300hp mill will be hard to find, as well as the OD. We all have that one which we regret selling. Thanks for watching and sharing your memories, Heartland.
When I was a kid (back in about 1978) I found a 57 ford in a grove of trees, my dad and I investigated and found it to be an E code. It was an old hi way patrol car. The guy gave me the id tag and some parts, but the car was trashed. That engine found it's way into a 1956 ford tow truck. It's still running i hear. FUN times for sure.
The '57 Ford has not had the respect the other '57 receives. That mill must have performed well in that tow truck!! Maybe it has earned a restoration and a retirement! Thanks for sharing a cool memory and car story, Jerryw66! Please check out my other videos, too.

Absolutely Awesome.! Always wanted one. Finally found a pristine baby blue convertible 312 4 barrel in 1962. Loved that car, but traded it for a '62 Catalina Super Duty to drag race. Wish I had it back. Always wonder why no one mentions the 130 mph spedo in the dash.??
Beautiful, 57's have been my favorite Ford since the first one I saw when I was 10 and saw "Thunder Road". Finally got one at age 40 to restore, Fairlane 500, just sold it after 30 years . But have liked the 2dr. post models best, maybe someday. I have to finish the 1950 F1 in my shop first, until then I'll keep driving my 1987 5.0 5spd. Mustang LX I bought new in 87, with less than 60K on the clock I should drive it more.
Sounds like " Thunder Road " made a Ford man out of you, Taco!! Enjoy your 'Stang and find some time to get that pickup on the road. Then, when you are out cruising, a person will come up to you and tell you about an old car in her garage.........

Hi Mike, Look up the " teapot " carb used on this F code Ford. It is very unusual and the base does not look like a newer 4bbl. I do not like to assume anything, as technology is different in every era.

Thanks for commenting, Justin. What do you mean by " interior delete-plate ". If you are referring to the radio delete plate, it is just an insert into the dash where the radio would have been. As for cool cars, well.... today's Mustangs and, of course, the Ford GT definitely count as cool cars!!! Progress means even the 4 cylinder Mustang ( I still gag when I say that!! ) produces 310hp with 350 ft/pds of torque and burns through 60mph in 4.5 seconds!!! Plus it has far superior brakes, IRS, and does not need a tune up every 6,000 miles. Oh yes, I am a hard core, old car enthusiast but I appreciate all interesting rides.

Great story, thanks for posting this. Do you know when Ford started moving from 6 volt systems to 12 volt systems?
1956 was the first year. I had a 39 with 55 292 and kept the 6 volts to match the car. No problems at all.

Plus it has far superior brakes, IRS, and does not need a tune up every 6,000 miles. Oh yes, I am a hard core, old car enthusiast but I appreciate all interesting rides.
@@carshowreporter Hahaha, ah I see. The "radio delete pate" is also covering the spot where the clock and temperature control levers should be. I was wondering if it was 3 delete plates or 1 large delete plate.

@Jeremy Thompson Those classic muscle cars were all motor, no handling or frills!! The skyrocketing insurance costs helped kill the segment. One could rarely find a nose in a junkyard!!
