I am getting the exact same problem I had back when Sierra Boggess and Norm Lewis co-started in Phantom, which is: you have two great professionals, two great actors and singers with extraordinary talent, and who in real life share an affectionate bond for each other, but on stage there's no chemistry and the magic of the show is lost because of it. Allot of the magic of this show relied on the amazing chemistry of the protagonists (Christy and Derek), and sadly it isn't here anymore in my opinion.

Zach is very talented but I can’t hear him as much as I hear Dmitri over Christy. His voice isn’t as deep/manly/powerful as Derek’s too. Idk how to explain. It’s just really different. I picture Dmitri as literally Derek because him and Christy blend but you can still hear HIM and his voice is deep and powerful and manly and Christy’s voice is ethereal and powerful and that’s how I see Anya and Dmitri. I’m sure Zach is great but I just don’t get feels like I do with Derek as Dmitri.
