Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga have nailed the roles as Ed and Lorraine Warren.

I’ll never forget watching this movie in theaters. The sound design is one of the main things that makes this movie work. And learning how it’s based on a true story while watching the movie was so chilling and scary.

the scene where she's on top of the wardrobe literally shocked me to my core in the theaters lol the way it was filmed and anticipated was so good.

That dresser scene (first sighting) when the sister stands in fro t of it and the other sits up and gasps… that’s the ooonly scene in any horror movie that genuinely fucked with my head.. like what the actual fck was that 💀🤣🤣🤣

It's hard to remember but when this came out in theaters it was like a remaking of the genre. Very scary and when you see it with a crowd it's even more impactful! Also, you have a very fine beard sir.

The real Lorraine Warren is the old lady sitting in the classroom scene.
No one was using adhesive to hang pictures in the 70's.

The "Case in Long Island" at the end of the movie is a reference to The Amityville Horror.

I love the whole Conjuring universe of movies and make sure to watch all of it every Halloween. Just to let you know, in case you decide to watch the rest, there are several movies which take place BEFORE this movie. It depends whether you want to watch them in chronological order or release order. Also, there’s a movie called “The Curse of La Llorona”. It’s technically not considered part of the collection, as I think it was made by a different production team. However, there’s a priest character in it who’s from the “Annabelle” movies and he even refers to his encounter with Annabelle. So, it IS connected to the universe and I include it in my overall universe rewatch marathon.

The problem with showing the bruises is that those could happen from anything and aren’t always paranormal. So even if Carolyn had shown the bruises, unless they had recorded her sleeping to show the spirit feeding off of her….they could’ve just labeled it from when she fell down in the cellar because that fall alone would’ve definitely left her with bruises.

  • @transformandgobricks7820

That witch possessed the previous owners of the house, she possessed the mother of Rory and make her kill him and herself, then she possessed that Mate and made kill her baby and commit suicide, and she possessed Carolyn and wanted to make her kill her own children, but she didn't wanted Ed and Lorraine to interfere so she grabbed the necklace from Lorraine because hers was connected to the one her daughter Judy had, this is how she get to Warrens house, and that vision with Judy in the water was a warning to keep the Warrens away from the house. The spirit of Rory was trying to hid the daughters where the witch wouldn't get them, this is why one of them was sleep walking.

If you want to go by the history order: the Nun, Annabelle: Creation, Annabelle (2014), Annabelle Comes Home, the Conjuring, the Conjuring 2, the Conjuring: Devil Made Me Do It. I don't know where does the Nun 2 play?
But if by the Movie order: The Conjuring (2013)
    Annabelle (2014)
    The Conjuring 2 (2016)
    Annabelle: Creation (2017)
    The Nun (2018)
    Annabelle Comes Home (2019)
The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021)
    The Nun 2 (2023)

    • @TheKing20501

The Nun 2 is set four years after The Nun 1.
So, the order would be something like this.
      The Nun (1952)
      Annabelle: Creation (1955)
      The Nun II (1956)
      Annabelle (1967)
      The Conjuring (1971)
      Annabelle Comes Home (1972)
      The Conjuring 2 (1977)
The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (1981)
& and then maybe "The Conjuring: Last Rites"

The real story is the last place they lived there were these neighbors who were really fucked up honestly probably had mental but they tortured and killed Andrea Perron’s cat. And they found the cat dead and tortured. It was horrific and tragic and Andrea ended up getting her revenge on them and scarying the living shot out of them and going on off it was a whole ordeal and with the town so they moved but then their dog died at the new house. If I remember correctly the dog got hit by a car cuz when it saw Andrea cross the street I believed it had followed her and then got hit. I know for fact that what happened is true I just can’t remember if I’m getting the order of it right. But I have the book so I’d have to reread it. What they went to was tragic/awful.

As much as I love the movies in the series, I loathe the attention they’ve garnered for Ed and Lorraine. Those two people were absolute charlatans, emotional vampires of the worst sort. At least in the films they sort of portray them as being somewhat sceptical. In reality… everything to them was either a demon or lost spirit.
    Dump in the night? Demons.
    Lost your keys? Totally demons.
Think you saw a ghost? Well then you totally saw a ghost!
They preyed upon the deepest fears of their victims, to further their own reputations and lore. And to collect more “haunted” doodads for their museum. Like that Annabelle doll. According to them, the single most dangerous paranormal artifact in existence… kept safe in a box of single pane glass and wood. And of course a “Do not Touch” sign.
Give me a fucking break 🤦‍♂️

I absolutely hate this movie, to me it was so horribly predictable when I watched it in theaters. Also HOW THE FUCK do you call a movie the Conjuring when there is absolutely NO ACT OF CONJURING in the entire movie. The poltergeist was always there since the beginning of the film so the title of the movie makes zero sense. This movie single handedly turned me off from watching any of the sequels. So to me personally this is one of the worst high budget horror films I have ever seen.
