American friendship is good. Chinese friendship is even better. Do not make Sgp choose because Sgp wants to profit from the friendships with both countries and not be subordinated to the national interest of either countries. The US should know that it is not welcome in Singapore if it stirs up trouble in East Asia.

Why is freedom of navigation an issue. No one ever stopped anyone from navigating freely over there as far as I know.,

Donaldson has articulated the extant position very well, kudos to him. As the other panelist says institutionalization of the relationship is key in the future.

Somebody obviously has no comprehension and listening skills
TLDR: Singapore trade depends on free trade agreemens, trump wants to tax all foreign goods - most likely leading to less trade , so lower shipping activity means less profit for singapore as a trading hub
I can explain it but I cant help you understand it

Even Ng Eng Han Singapore Defence Minister said in Aspen security talks..that US leadership in the world is justified on trade....whole of East Asia maybe with exception of Australia ...zero country shares value with US if there's no trade whole of East Asia will go with the largest trading country around and you know who that is.
