Tommy is the bomb on guitar! I like how he jettisoned that capo to move on to another tune. How anyone can play a guitar like that is totally mind blowing.......... 👍👍🎸🎸🎸🎸👍👍
@@kennybluet5527 The key is in how the capo was applied in the first place, he is very precise with placement, and once it is in place he pushes down on the strings right over the sound hole and that sort of removes the slight sharping of the strings that happens with a capo.
Just amazing, thanks Linda and now that I'm subscribed I am getting all of your older ones to pop up, splendid. Tommy should be declared a national treasure !
Not sure what I'm more amazed by..Tommy's brilliance or missmokes filming skills..!! Thank you so much for giving us mere mortals in the U.K a glimpse of the astral talent on show here..peace..!!
I saw Tommy a few years ago in Canada. His show in Vancouver was sold out, so I drove for 5 hours to see him in Penticton B.C. Well worth the drive, :) Thanks for capturing his genuine joy for playing his instrument!
Tommy Emmanuel, I really enjoy your style of guitar...one instrument creating the sound of nearly an entire orchestra! I used to play a tiny bit of guitar similar to that years ago…emphasis on “tiny bit”..…fingerpicking on a nylon string in folk style, playing melody, rhythm, creating a little arrangement....all blending together simultaneously. No, no, not nearly so well as you do! But brings back fond memories! You are truly an inspiration! .....Next day edit: Tommy, I can’t stop watching this! Makes me want to get out the old guitar after all these years! “Classical Gas” and “The :Entertainer” were among my most favorites to do once upon a time! My heart gets happy just hearing you! No depression to be found here! Thank you!
Gee Clatters, I enjoyed your comment so much! Years ago when my guitar teacher would pick up my guitar and play something great, I’d think, “How’d that song get in there?” As though the song was somehow in the guitar already, and by some magic, the guy just picked it up and let all the music out...LOL ...!!! Of course, I knew better…but that’s how it seemed! Oh, the wonders of the instrument! ❤️.¸¸.☆
Missmoke, you & Tommy have made my day again, what a way to start your day. Tommy has got to be one of the best guitar players and performers in the world. The man just blows me away every time I see him play. But on the other hand, would not have seen him without your excellent video. Thanks Barry M Nova Scotia, Canada
We all know that friend. Sadly Christmas cards don't generally get delivered from addresses in HEAVEN. Also, Tommy played a medley. That means it was more then just Harrison's song.
Paul tried to get Tommy to become a full time guitar teacher at his music school in Liverpool, but he declined so he could keep playing around the world
There were restrictions on certain kinds of cameras and videos of entire performances, but you could film clips or a song or two from each performance~ :)
saw him the 12th of March at Tennessee Theatre in Knoxville "not far from where Chet was born & raised", rest of shows I believe got cancelled due to the virus. sat in the 2nd row underneath the stage - - Tommy was on his game & looking sharp. - amazing guitarist & all around great performer & good human being
I'm a professional audio engineer. There is no "tinny" knob on a mixing console. Gaaaahhh!!!! It's clean! Lots of clean highs, but keep in mind that this was from a camera in the audience, for crying out loud! Thankful to have the video.
Watching Tommy play puts me in a ridiculously happy mood 💕😊
How can you not like Tommy Emmanuel?
I wonder if Paul McCartney will ever see this man. He would love it i am sure......
Class+Fun= what a pleasure !

@@WellnessRosterHQ when you say "pushing down" do you mean before he plays , similar to stretching out new strings but in the opposite direction?
@@kennybluet5527 Yes....that's right.
Not sure what's more amazing, how great Tommy is or how much I realized I suck at guitar after watching this.
Damn, Total knowledge of and control of his instrument.
TOMMY sooo goood
Just amazing, thanks Linda and now that I'm subscribed I am getting all of your older ones to pop up, splendid. Tommy should be declared a national treasure !

Betty Merlin Hi Betty, So glad you’re enjoying the videos. 😊
Paul McCartney better be sending Christmas cards to Tommy every year... and a nice gift too!!!!!
Yeah, because Harrison can't; that's his song!

Well...there goes three days of me not playing guitar....
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾
Xxxlovely !
He is also a great electric player.
I think tommy picks better than Chet Atkins did. Joe can’t even play like Tommy. Best finger picker in the world.
