Had one of these very headlights, got replaced after a few years as the power button stopped working, and I've just returned the replacement as the light flickered when the cable was moved...
Now, I use this light EVERY NIGHT, so it is used more then most would... The price here in Australia is $179AUD for this light.
They are very good, and I have just ordered the H19R from Ledlenser, which has magnetic charging too.
Will sell the H8R when I get a brand new replacement.
7 year warranty of you register, and there customer service is great, here in Australia.
Never heard of O light... And here, LEDlenser is a top brand.
The adjustable head is great, used it often.

How do you do a review and don’t actually turn it on? Need to see it in action.

I owned a Led Lenser H7 (the previous models to these torches)for about 16 years until I lost it before Christmas when helping a friend with his night navigation. I think it fell out of my car when getting changed at the trail head😢😢 I used mine primarily for hiking, especially in winter here in Ireland. I also used for inshore fishing from my boat at night. I loved that torch, and it was excellent, especially the low setting, using it for map reading without getting dazzled at night! I am looking at the H8R, so thanks for the review.
I'll let you know how I find it in a few months

The good thing with this is the adjustable flood and spot very versatile and the 18650 batteries are cheap to buy

We all want those super powerful lights, problem is they eat batteries or battery life. I think led lenser have a more expensive one with magnetic charger and twice the lumens but twice the price. I like this one because when working at different bases i mightn't have a my charger but can always find a spare micro usb chargers.

Those energiser head torches are amazing. The floodlight mode is perfect as a sparky working nights, it fill the whole workspace with even light distribution.

I have so many headlamps, I find to a degree they are all fine, under zombie combat conditions would be another story, I have a old craftsman lamp that I’ve used for years and not had a problem. Thanks for watching

Certainly! I'm considering the ledlenser mh10 for work, and maybe the h15r for those winter hikes. But that can wait til winter. Thanks for the info. 😀

The "issue" starts when you are doing "up-side-down" work....... // when it comes to me: the H7.2 and the H7R.2 lamps (= same strap system as the H8-serie) start to slip off your head when you are bending over AND you need to twist your head at the same time // to get the 7 year warranty you MUST sign-in by lenser.......// without sign-in = 5 years !!

Ledlenser a few years back were manufactured in Germany , for some economic reason they moved factory to communist China...land of freedom and liberty😂. You get less accesories in the new models, you must pay double for the signature/pro models that come with a pouch and extra wall chargers. All the pre 2019 models came with extra free goodies, torches had pouches etc. Notice the Led bulb has changed too, the older ledlensers had the logo printed on the lense( i have 3 older models that have this and bought one new P7R Core(chinese manufactured)it, now they are gone, just clear chinese bulbs. But then look how communist china has improved in quality, some of their goods are good and others bad quality...you must do your own research. The Haval chinese brand is better quality than their geely and other cheaper brands...they are improving. I am not a communist,I love Freedom and Liberty and Self sustainabilty.

18650 is pretty the global standard cell size for lithuim ion batteries. Even car batteries consist of several hundreds of these connected to each other and enclosed.

I have a ledlenser mt18 flashlight lost the charge cord not once but twice I contacted the company both times the first they sent me out a cord no cost to me the second time they sent a new flashlight the p18r at no cost very good customer service

18650's is the most popular flashlight battery out there. All the major mid-high end companies use them. Olight is different in that they use proprietary batteries ad my advice is to stay from any thing that way BTW Ledlenser & Coast pull the same trick. I have many headlights from just about every company my favorite is Zebralight.
Your review was long winded, unknowable, and I don't believe that you didn't turn the damn thing on and take it out side GEEZ!
