I'm a bit confused wether using a preamp does any good since the speaker (A500 or A700) does A/D->DSP->D/A inside. I would connect my turntable and CD-transport to the Buchardt hub via optical.
Great journey with your system. I had the Mani, Modi, Loki and SYS stack going through my actives 2 years ago. The Mani is just a great little Phonostage (in MM) mode!, IMO the Parks Puffin DSP phono is the best bang for buck PS under $1K. Using it with the Allo Digione via SPDIF outs sending through the digital data to the Mutec M+3 usb, and into the Minidsp SHD studio for dirac 3 processing then out to the MP Deluxe Dac -> MP 701mk2 pre -> CX4Fs.... nearly end game for me.
@@NoStereoNoLife Cetainly need tubes somewhere in the chain. I cant remember fully but the reason why i took out the Sys from the system was because there was some noticable glare in the upper octaves. Its the cheap volume pot on the sys that apparently does this. Try out the tisbury passive, which was a step up over the sys.
Incredible! A700 is on my list. Do you have any recommendations regarding minimizing/eleminating sound leakage to neighbors? wall panels, floor stands, etc.?
The A700 has good base design with rubber padding at the base. You can further reduce floor vibration with IsoAcoustics Gaia. You can install sound absorbing panels at the wall common to your neighbor with these. They look good: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B085L7N736
@@NoStereoNoLife As for the sound absorbing panels, are these the same as shown in your video? I can see 5, 2 behind each speaker and one large in the middle. Are these enough to completely block the sound?
@@Sam-ne9ns It's the 6x2 panels in between the speakers behind the clock. I think these won't block low frequencies. You'll have to use bass traps too if you need complete control. The white ones behind speakers is to control reflections _within_ the room.
@@NoStereoNoLife Good to know! Thanks for the useful info. I live in a condo in a vertical building, so I'm surrounded by neighbors left and right. Do you think I'd need to completely cover the entire walls? by the way, you're the only person who has reviewed these speakers! Good work!
@@Sam-ne9ns Thanks! I think just cover the exposed/bare spaces. See the pictures posted by the buyers in Amazon. You can be creative with colors and patterns too :)
I think that would be an excellent setup. I would connect the Freya+ balance output to the A700 XLR input. Hopefully I could try these combinations in the future... :)
Low end is shallow as the bass rolls off steep below 38hz - BUT: the bass definition is so much cleaner. I confirmed from my room measurement (REW) the THD is so much better than the stock.
@@NoStereoNoLife thanks so much I’ll try it out! Sorry to pepper you with questions - when you’re trying these combos out do you have to unplug the xlr cables, or do the speakers automatically switch between sources?

Looking forward to seeing what your next preamp will be :)
As soon as I got the funds :)

Impressive! Man, I miss my MP701mk2.

Yup those sound damn good
Would be great to hear longer clips, plenty of channels play a whole track
I'll upload more full tracks separately.
If you can, try to audition the PrimaLuna EVO 400 Tube Preamp its a really good preamp. I think its the perfect pair for your A700.
Even just with EVO 200 would be perfect I think. Also the Mcintosh C8, C70, C22. Oh I can only dream...

Checkout the Parasound P6 preamp ($1600 US).
How about a Schiit Freya+ and leave it on 24/7 in passive mode or solid state buffer stage mode, and switch on the tubes when listening to music.

What made you decide to try buchardt
RUclips reviews and audio forum impressions got me to S400. I'm a fan after that.
How do you like the high spl tuning? Haven’t tried it yet
