Im having first hand experience of why one should not start poultry in December 😢😢😢. I got the worst batch as a beginner. Navels were not dry, twisted beaks, paralyzed legs, one was weighing 37g and still wet showings it just hatched. I bought 200 and they gave me an extra 4. Day 1 night lost 2, day 2 lost 5, day 3 lost 5, day 4 lost 2. In day 2, i moved all the weak ones in sickbay, clearly showing no chance of surviving. BY day 4 i had 14 mortality. Yooh, I Made sooo much noise, the hatchery gave 25 extra chicks (that hatched same day as the ones i received, and they were strong just like my stronger ones i the brooder). Im on day 5 today and only had 1 mortality. Thanks Makwala for your continuous sharing of knowledge and experience. If i had not been watching your videos and being your channel subscriber, I would not be standing.... I would be buried with my 15 chicks. Keep strong, my brother.
You are really strong. The mortality is reducing, I am glad for that. Thank you so much for sharing this, you are really helping some of us here. This would have broken me mentally. I pray you come out stronger
I really believe the issue is from the hatchery since the mortality started too early, just days after hatching. I hope the hatchery will compensate you in the next cycle and I hope you have made them aware of the situation
The problem might be from the breeder if the rate is too high. Sometimes, they replace your chicks, just try and follow up with the supplier, and you might find that you're not alone who have the same problem from that batch
You mentioned some time ago that come closer to festive you have noticed mortality of day old chicks is always higher and we need to be careful of our suppliers during this time
So sorry about that. Seeing this gives me more anxiety as sitting here waiting for my order of chicks and they keep on changing date of delivery im so disappointed with farmers pride in Mount Frere. They delaying the process😢

Sorry for that but I have to advice you is to have good air ventilation during the day.
Been doing broilers for 6 years now and such death in the early age it's probably an issue from the hatchery.
Today i lost 13 of them we are in day 19
My heart is so broken yoo
Am sorry 😢 welcome to festive season
You probably have a flu going on
Sorry makwala
