If I put a vibrating phone next to such a sensor, will it register vibration? Or won't it be sensitive enough to do so? Can you advise a sensitive sensor that would be suitable for my purpose? Thank you.

I wish you're doing well , I've already used the sensor SW-420 and it was very sensitive to my phone's vibrations, add to this, you can adjust the sensitivity of it.

I found that you have extra engineer that sensor so that it will amplify its ability to send a
sizable reading to an analog port. I am trying pivot one end and the other end has a spring under it s that he sensor will move more

How can I measure the vibration in Hertz?
My Arduino returns the length of the pulse (in microseconds) or 0 if no pulse started before the timeout, but I'd like it to return the vibration in Hertz.

You might need an accelerometer such as the ADXL355 with FFT software for analysis
