The 3 main vocals (Chenle, Haechan, Renjun) harmonizing and ruling the high notes meanwhile triple J (Jisung, Jaemin, Jeno) and also Mark ruling the low notes creating layers that sound so good and pleasing to the ears. They really work as a group and not afraid to play with the music by creating random harmonization and adlibs that was not originally in the recorded song.

Chenle is so much the center of Dream's vocals, especially for live stages/performances. He has incredible breath control and stability, to the point where you can hear him doing adlibs even at the end of intense songs, and they sound great. He also falls in the middle tone-wise, higher than the rappers and lower than the other two main vocals. He's great at harmonization, and also adjusting his placement depending on who he sings with or what he's singing. His natural tone is quite breathy, but he can also push his chest voice or a fuller head voice/falsetto out whenever he needs to.
His range is good too. Not sure if you've seen 5Dream performance of Hello Future but he can belt the same ending high notes as Haechan, although it's a bit more strained he still gets there, and he has started to get his own belts here and there, like in Dive Into You.
SM got very lucky with him, considering he debuted with only 2 months of official training. Its likely most of that was Korean and dance lessons anyways. His growth since debut is something I'm so proud of as a longtime fan. He used to get way less lines but thankfully their production team has let him shine more in recent projects. I think we've only seen a small percentage of what he's really capable of.
Anyways, thank you for showing appreciation for our music star Chenle! He's such a technically talented singer, its always nice go see him recognized as such, but it doesnt happen as often as it should, so really, thank you!

What i enjoyed most from this killing voice is how they ALL sang in every song. So many other groups were singing one at a time with a backing track when they have other members right there 😭 props to dream for leaning into their strengths and filling the choruses with their voice! Also chenle was a pleasant surprise 🥹 love me some dream harmonies!
SM has the utmost confidence with their boys. Even uploading their recording session! Not a lot of artists do that.
@@donaldzuramp4404yeah! I absolutely love the recording sessions! Others do it as well, but usually it's cut short or there is some effect on it (wich it's absurd, don't upload it at that point). Sm has amazing vocalists and i love every single time they show them off
@@aurorapas9170 what i like the most from their sessions is they also include the number of takes. Like we can see how haechan can still struggle despite of how good his voice already is

With this killing voice, I feel like Dingo is helping me showing off to people the reason why I love Chenle's voice and talent.
If some people don't know yet, Chenle is classically trained since he's a kid.
Dream are such a strong group, especially vocally. I'm glad Chenle is finally getting recognized. I think he was overlooked as a main vocal since he didn't get many lines early in their career due to his voice taking so long to stabilize.
Actually both Renjun and Chenle admitted they had a hard time singing that fast pace on Blue Wave 😂

I think their recent World Tour also help how calm they are performing in Dingo and so courageous at making that random adlibs and harmonization. Honestly this looks like a concert to me specially in the way they hype each other. That energy and stage presence 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

This Chenle biased right here is so happy with Chenle getting the recognition he deserves. Chenle has been training his vocals for 15 years or so, the boy is stable and knows his technique.

Really appreciate how much they improvise from the original records. And the adlibs come to real life, not just stay in the backtrack. They perform like they're really happy singing their music. The artists really enjoy their music, I received that energy and happiness from them.

there’s a reason why SM recruited Chenle 5 months before Dream’s debut and immediately added him to the debut line up. He was only a trainee for 3 months (as someone who doesn’t dance at all btw) and no one literally knew or noticed this until the members revealed it. Like he became a part of SM after The 7th Sense was released 😭

Jisung could definitely benefit from someone that’s also a bass or bari working with him! He has a beautiful tone and he’s so young he could become such great weapon in their toolbox.
YES! i feel like the people who write and produce their songs don’t know how to work with jisungs deep voice so therefore it’s used less then it should be. it’s so beautiful and i know with the right training he could go very far
@@kittyreis Same goes for Jaemin. Jisung and Jaemin are both Baritones and would both benefit from training their lower range and harmonizing skills :D
Something was triggered in my brain with Chenle starting from the Hot Sauce album, and I feel like his grip has just tightened on me more and more with every following release😭 He had his foot on my neck with this fr!
Renjun sounds different and I think he’s under the weather. Usually he’s supported, clear, piercing and light in approach. Here he was muddy, breathy, husky and a bit shallow. I thought he might’ve been trying a new singing style but there are parts in this dingo where it shows he’s struggling a bit.
OMG when they skipped Boom bridge it gave me EXO killing voice flashbacks. Also THANK YOU!!!! My boy Chenle getting the recognition he deserves! I always said he's one of NCT's Best vocalists and the more you check him out the more he will surprise you.

As soon as Renjun started singing I was like yeah he’s not feeling well, for sure. I actually think they’d have done the Boom bridge if he felt good, I’m sure he would’ve liked to show off there.
Haechan is a BEAST his voice is absolutely incredible and so unique, and I really love what everyone brought to the group vocals.

The harmony when they zoomed out was all RENJUN hahah coz i can tell each and one of everyone's voice. He is also known as king of harmony in NCT Dream and king of opening of ballad songs. I love how each vocal members bring different colours, they are underrated.
Yes agree a lot of the harmonization here is by Renjun but they didnt even recognized it so Im somehow hurt, Im just thinking cuz Renjun somehow already use to not be recognized well 😢

I always say this. Chenle is the most stable vocalist I've ever heard of! He pulls it effortlessly. While Xiaojun is my most favorite vocalist in the whole NCT, I can still say Chenle's voice is so clear, solid and stable. In conclusion, stan NCT for a better hearing. 😂
honestly they really impressed me here. I was always mad at groups for not harmonizing on dingo, it sounds so much fuller when they do and it shows how much work they put into it. also mark and chenle were just amazing, mark with couple of those runs he did and chenle with just how much stability and control he has.
Mark has AIR, it's always a pleasure when we get his singing voice. Chenle been giving technique before he came to SM, dat boy can saang, proud. Haechan, the day they set him free, it's ova... "hide your kids, hide your wife" money gone. Renjun voice is light/soft, bass when needed. Jeno and Jaemin, the bass is giving what it's supposed to. Jisung/Hyung his tone, gorgeous... the whole time I'm ready to step in the screen to straighten his back and shoulders cause he's shrinking himself, stand tall youngin'. They all had fun with it and were professionals. I know the 'Boom' feeling, sad, that's my Vanity 6 track but it's ok. Thank you for the hour video... always a pleasure when you sing along. The meal they're offering vocally to dissect... thankful. *You watching DREAM twice is a honorary #1... Just sayin'...

Goodness, Chenle’s voice though. I mean I love all of their voices but Chenle has really been shining.
i loved this! def one of my favorite killing voices, I was a big fan of how they (esp mark and chenle) added and changed little parts. of course, now i wish those changes were on the official tracks 😂

As a Haechan superfan, I've really been sooo impressed with Chenle the past 3 albums. He was good then, but he's great now.
“as a haechan superfan”this completely unnecessary preface 😂but glad you know deep down that haechan IS the strongest vocalist in dream, has the best technique and will always be the point of comparison lmfao it’s actually funny how much stronger haechan is than chenle, it’s super clear even over here! I can mostly only hear Haechan’s voice dominating the choruses because he has a very strong and loud voice 💅chenle sings in falsetto like 95% of the time because he lacks support and ends up sounding overly thin, tight, nasally and airy because of how much tension is on his throat and how much he strains! Haechan is the only vocalist in dream with a consistent supported range and has the best belting technique which is why he was belting so much here especially on istj and broken melodies and why he’s given like 95% of the highest notes and most vocally challenging parts in dream songs. His chest, mixed and head voice are the most developed and strongest amongst dream, and his belts sounds fuller, louder and overall stronger. He has also belted the highest notes ever belted in a dream song on mixed voice (g#5 in irreplaceable, tangerine love) and even over here the highest chest voice belted notes were by haechan (d#5 in istj)
it's not an unnecessary preface, imo. op just wanted to emphasize how much she loves haechan yet she couldn't help but appreciate chenle from the past three albums. we all have that. speaking of unnecessary comments, your comment is an example of that. you wanted to highlight how haechan's vocals was "superior" in response to a comment appreciating chenle's vocals.

That is the tightness and confidence of a group of boys who have just returned off a very successful world tour! I feel like they are totally in their stride and their usual energy and playfulness just shine right through.
I can hear the huskiness in Renjun's voice, his condition is not at 100% and I could feel him being careful (and did you see how Mark was taking special care of him?). But we know what he is capable of and he still had moments of shining beauty like they all did.
Mark's variations that he added to songs I have heard 100 times.... it still puts me in awe. He never stops improving and trying new things. I love how each and every one nailed their bits while also meshing together so comfortably because they know each other like the backs of their hands. The chemistry Dream has is not easy to find in this world

I am pretty sure Renjun was sick that day. I kept comparing his singing to different live performances or even the recordings in the studio and he sounds different. So sad he couldn‘t show his real singing skills. He still sounds good though!

i definitely recommend the behinds. the people in the studio are incredible detailed and relentless. so meticulous and specific but they love working with the boys because they just get it. dream deliver everytime they are so so skilled.

I know there is debate going on about debut ages being too young these days, and I agree that the arguments are totally valid. But when I look at NCT Dream, I can't help but think they were born for this. Been watching them since they were 14-16 and jfc they are insanely talented!
I have no problem with debuting earlier as long as their debut matches their age, like nct dream with chewing gum hehehe.
This is reaction is awesome. Thank you for pointing out the more technical aspects which those of us who are less knowledgeable about singing may of missed! I think the dreamies have a beautiful range of vocal flavour, especially when they layer together, so it’s nice to have someone who clearly knows a lot about singing say the same and confirm it!

i mean--- Chenle is a child prodigy. He's been singing since he's little and all those experiences are manifesting right now. I always say that he has always been the backbone of NCT Dream's vocals.

I'm a little disappointed you didn't get to see Jeno's range on ISTJ when harmonizing with Renjun and Haechan on the bridge. I feel that was a missed opportunity for everyone to see. It sounds really good on the record. Surprisingly for me this was a great Killing Voice! I was so surprised! They did great!
RenJun is possibly unwell these days. If you notice, he looks daze even though he still jumps around. In their come back showcase on Monday, he was energetic on cam but looked so tired off cam. Other members 've been trying to cheer him up, so I hope he'll take care of himself more and feel better soon.
I really want Chenle & Mark to cover Christian Kuria's Deep Green or Sunbleach. Their voices together will be sooo gooodd
I am a Superm and Exo and Shinee , Nct fan . Nct Dream are beast , really they could take over K-pop. They are like a well oil machine.
There are 3 member that usually shine during live. Meaning that you can hear them sang loudly over backrack. And that are Mark, Chenle, and Jeno. Still remember Chenle called out those people that called him lipsync during KCON. He said the mic is on and thank them for the compliment in his bubble.

What a nice pleasure for the ears honestly... 😭 After following them since their debut through the years and seeing them live this year, I can say that even though I knew they had BEAUTIFUL voices, I was still gobsmacked and impressed by their technique and professionalism during the Killing voice. The Chen x Haechan duet pls make it happen but also in terms of metallic voices that should go well together with Haechan lemme put Key and sometimes Onew in there bc Key sounds brassy and dark to me which i feel would be a good contrast to Haechan's bright voice

i was bout to say, Renjun (my bias) sounds like he might be sick. As someone who used to perform and sing and i have sang sick, working extra hard breathing and getting that support, i understand his pain. But he pushed through and still gave us a good sound. Haechan voice appreciation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i always say, Doyoung and Haechan are the cheat codes of NCT lmao I love Haechan's voice, its like, he knows EXACTLY how to approach his delivery. and MARK, i always said he was the underrated main vocal in NCT lol

43:57 dudeee same.. I still can't move on from Mark's singing here ever since they drop Dunk Shot and the self record video for this song in 2017. Oh, when they performed this song live on basketball competition on the same year, the cheer from the audience was so loud, and they looked so adorable.
I totally agree with you, I always notice this with Renjun. It feels like he will run out of breath any moment but that doesn't happened yet. I love his tone, it is very sentimental and vulnerable it seems. And yep, it looked like Renjun was not feeling well. You can see it in his eyes.

For low voices, the rappline is usually taken (jaemin, jeno, jisung, mark), for some songs we can hear Jaemin's low voice clearly because his voice is truly unique, Jaemin's lines in each song are few but the majority of backsounds that take low tones are heard very jaemin's voice

You probably didn't like ISTJ much because od the video, since the video is fast paced and in combination with the song it creates this chaos if that makes sense. The song hits different without the video. Although i personally liked the combination as well. Guess i like chaos. Since NCT Dream it self is a Chaos. 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚 PS: I also demand album reactions(Hot Sauce, Glitch Mode and B-side songs from repackage albums.)

I saw them live at the beginning of the month and I was so impressed with their vocal quality once again. I was so in shock with Sorry, Heart and how precious their voices are that for the first 30 seconds of the song I couldn't scream or sing along, just enjoying their voices.
There are so many other great songs that could be there and we know they would deliver, it's crazy how much they've improved since debut and even then they were so good 💚💚💚

Dream gives me the same warm feeling in my soul I get from Shinee but with the vocal mastery of EXO and SM’s best rappers. They truly are the jewels of their generation.

The way they delivered - they had to CHOOSE to perform these vocals and I have so much respect for NCT Dream taking this seriously. The harmonies are stuNNING :')) Ngl this is what I expected from Exo (and other groups) - I know Exo has 'less to prove' and have established themselves as excellent vocalists but they could have done a lot more harmony-wise. And NCT Dream coming to Dingo Killing Voice and giving us amAZING harmonies shows that it IS an option WHEN WILL MORE GROUPS DO IT I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT SHOW US

hey, a new viewer here! just for extra information, if the top is haechan in the chorus or in a verse, the one in the low is usually jeno (mostly) or sometimes mark. for chenle it's mostly jisung or sometimes mark too. and for renjun, the one in the low is usually jaemin. just a pattern i noticed as someone who is obsessed with the bg vocals of dreams discography. and u can hear it too in this. like candy's first chorus where haechan led the chorus, it's jeno in the back.
