tu as l'air complimenteur ;) c'est gentil non pas vraiment cultivé en musique, je le suis plus en cinéma.. mais j'écoute de tous les styles musicaux sauf le hip hop, R&B et autres saloperies du genre même si il m'arrive a l'occasion et très rarement d'aimer une song hip hop mais c'est rare à vrai dire c'est mon frère qui ma fait découvrir Ensiferum il y a moins de 2 ans... il y a longtemps que j'avais abandonné le metal (à l'époque du bon slayer, sepultura ou death etc... j'ai 40 ans) et le metal populaire nord-américain était tellement rendu mauvais que je n'avais plus d'intérêt pour ce genre musical et le black metal scandinave, je n'aimais pas non plus même si ils ont un certains sens de la mélodie et mon frère ma fait écouté cette chanson et ensuite son meilleur ami fait découvrir par le fait même le folk metal et ce fut un coups de coeur instantané... et j'ai toute la collection d'Ensiferum... j'aime beaucoup aussi Akrona, Alestorm, Amon Amarth, Powerwolf.... Tyr n'est pas mauvais non plus. Je sais qu'il y a aussi de bon groupe québécois de folk metal mais j'ai pas les noms en tête en ce moment... Mais c'est vraiment un genre musical metal qui me plait beaucoup. Ils sont vraiment doué les scandinaves, slaves, baltes etc pour trouver des riff et mélodie incroyables... mais Ensiferum ils ont vraiment de quoi de plus que les autres band je trouve... Ainsi que le groupe russe Arkona

i think from afar is referencing the Ragnarok... they are scripts which fortell future events.... it would explain a few of the opening lines, "a long lost prophesy, a forgotten legacy".. the scripts foretold great battles and the death of figures in norse mythology..

@Yalashaska actually Finland is the country with more viking descendants, even more than Norway, Denmark and Sweden, with near 40% of viking descendants, other thing is that vikings didn't put graveyards, towns or things like that in Finland, but their descendants live there... and i don't think they consider themselves vikings, since vikings died hundreds of years ago... it's just their style of music
Funny is that some finnish people think they are vikings just because they are on scandinavia, but they are the onlyones in there that are not considered vikings
