Was Hutchinson with PYates at this point because I know there had been a thing between Liam and her, that didn't quite get off the ground as far as the story is told
Michael was suffering from depression, which along with his brain injury, drug use, family/career issues, ultimately led him to take his life. So tragic.
Exactly. I understand Paula's denial, because she knew his much escalated depression (since becoming embroiled in her and Bobs public spats and child custody nastiness) plus her choosing to stay and fight Bob rather than bring just Tiger to see him was a nail in his coffin. He ached to see his baby Tiger and she chose to NOT come when she could have easily. Just like she easily came immediately when she was informed of his suicide. She is not a coroner.
@@oleggorky906 and for what reason did the taxi driver attack him? Just? That brain injury was never proven. And where does it say that MH used violence on INXS members?

I recall watching that award show and thinking Noel was totally out of order and cruel making that comment about Michael, it must have crushed him. But I think many other things were the cause of Michael’s death.
Why do Noel and Liam have such toxic personalities? Who hurt them?? TBH I cannot imagine Hutchence saying anything disparaging about another band/artist without provocation. He seemed like a lover and supporter of all music and art, at least in the public eye. He was critical of politics and current events. So, I wouldn't be surprised if this was an interview egging him on about the MTV Euro awards incident, and MH being cheeky about it. Who knows? (Side note, Kensit is fearless (picture with MH wise)! Wow.)

@@adelemcg69 Elegantly Wasted was panned by critics and is one the worst performing INXS albums recorded. It's more famous for some silly backing lyrics about Oasis than being any good. I've just watched the documentary on Hutchence (Mystify) and nothing I've seen has changed my opinion. Michael was a great singer and INXS were a successful pop band but at the time he killed himself, he was absolutely washed up. He looked like a greasy middle aged mess going through a midlife crisis. Throw in the fact his terrible relationship breakup was being played out in public. I wasn't aware of the head injury but that appears to have contributed to his downfall. He clearly stopped taking care of himself though. It's a shame. I have no ill-feeling towards the guy, but he was a pub singer by the end. Best to remember him pre-Paula as well. God knows how many guys had been through her before Mad Mike decided he fancied a bit.
I think you are right on the money there, jase..... Hutchence was drunk after a party and was cycling back late on a bicycle up the middle of the road in Copenhagen, incurring the wrath of a cab driver who got out and punched him hard and his head hit the kerb.....He was never the same after that, according to his girlfriend Helena Christiansen... You could cite examples from boxing such as Muhammad Ali who got CTE from being punched, and you could cite examples of people who are in great constant pain who take an excess of drugs to combat the pain, such as Michael Jackson... but that one punch as you rightly say was instrumental in Michael Hutchence's subsequent physical and mental degradation and death.....
Yes. That punch caused a brain injury that led to Michael losing his sense of smell. The INXS autobiography tells numerous stories of erratic behaviour from Michael, including one incident when he tried to attack Gary Beers with a knife after Gary saw him scraping the knife on the hardwood floor
@@ColinP-yo2mz The brain injuries from the assault precipitated the downward spiral that led to his death, hence my comment that it took him 5 years to succumb. I stand by my statement

It still seems so 'convenient' that the 'babysitter' found drugs in the house (in a smartie packet under the bed) when Paula and Michael werent there. Paula insisted they'd been planted by Bob. Bob's subsequent behaviour towards Michael's family after Paula's and Michael's deaths, in denying them any access to Tiger showed that Geldof has a nasty side. No winners at the end of this story.

@@JamesHargreavesGuitar Eye opening indeed. Michael's tragic death was shocking. Your details of diving into the matters about ugly rift between 2 bands is telling. Hello from India.
Farris Bros / INXS played some very tough venues long before they were famous and had to deal with a lot more than this. They were a bit too pop oriented for the Australian pub rock scene of the late 70's early 80's - and it wasn't unusual for the odd can or bottle to be thrown or the punters booing them off the stage [1982 Belmont 16 Footers] because their music wasn't hard or tight enough compared to the competition of the time. But they managed to get through it, sell millions of albums, build a huge fanbase and achieve commercial success. As someone that saw them early on - I never thought they'd make it because their playing was pretty poor [compared to other bands of the time] but they grinded and innovated until they found success. Does this really sound like someone that would care what Noel Gallagher said ? I seriously doubt it.
Big difference between getting booed in some small venue by a bunch of drunk nobodies when you're clearly on your way up, and being told that you're a hasbeen (which was sadly true he knew his career was on a slide and the best days were long gone) live on tv infront of millions of viewers.

As much as Michael was mortified at the time, who cares about what Oasis said or did...! Ugly people are ugly on the inside as well as outside. Michael was beautiful, sexy, charismatic, popular and had a stunning voice... Michaels voice left a wonderful legacy.... Its such a pity this beautiful person became vulnerable due to his head injury...and boy was he ripped off...... RIP Michael....
Yep. 18 months of inspiration (largely plagiarised from the actual greats) followed by a decade-plus of regressive musical embarrassment. Oasis in a nutshell.
Yeah, Definitely, Maybe and What's the Story? were leaps and bounds above anything that came after. Some of the later stuff was OK but not as good as the earlier stuff.
@IIWII Very strange comment. It is pretty obvious that Oasis peaked at Knebworth. The Supersonic movie itself acknowledges this. I'm not sure why you are getting all defensive about this observation being mooted in a youtube comments section? Does one need to be an artist with millions of albums sold to be able to offer an opinion?
Michael was a loving sensitive soul and people easily used him. That said, Michael was pretty competitive also, and just as easily used others and it was clear to anyone he was struggling with all the downsides of fame. I am a lifelong INXS fan and I remember thinking at that time that as we lived in a Tabloid Sickened Britain and they ABSOLUTELY set up that Brit Awards! and it was all part of the PR culture. BUT The press were up Oasis arse and Michael was constantly vilified after being with ‘Saint Bob’s” ex. But I agree, I do not think Oasis is the reason. Michael had a life shattering altercation with paparazzi and Michael hit his head on the pavement so hard he suffered brain injury he took time to recover from and that caused him to lose his taste and smell and have severe bouts of debilitating depression. I think it was Tim Farris ( INXS lead Guitarist) who commented “ Michael was popping Prozac like tictacs” which can cause a seratonin storm much like a psychotic break and I feel that is what may have happened the night of his death, he seemed to be increasingly compelled to take life-gambling risks..in life, in health and sexually..but it’s impossible with all the drugs in his system to cherry pick the reason exactly. Also remember Paula and Michael met on The Tube years before and attributed that meeting to their initial spark. In Paula’s book it’s claimed they first slept together shortly before that famous Bed interview. I’m not sure that the girlfriend merry-go-round between all involved at that time was a part of it but who knows 💁🏻 Great video! Thanks for the upload! It’s been a years since I’ve thought about any of this 👍👍
The altercation that left him brain damaged was with a taxi driver. Not sure if any paps were somehow involved or not, but it was the taxi driver who hit MH and caused his brain injury
I think amongst all the things going on in his life oasis wouldn't have been a high priority really... what Noel said might have pissed him off but to say it caused his death, i very much doubt it..
Most people didn't give a shit about what Noel said at the Brits about Hutchence or they weren't even aware of it until the Mystify documentary came out two years ago, then all of a sudden INXS fans decided to be offended by it. It's the main reason why video's like this one exist.
@@HearszAM never heard of that documentary so I’ll have to look out for it.I also agree if that one comment was what led to Michaels actions a year after Noel said it that’s to crazy for words.Amd as I’m sure Micheal musta had a hell of a lot going on in his mind I find it hard to believe that noels comment was at the forefront of his mind while he planned on taking his life. This really is a perfect case of making something out of absolutely nothing
ive often thought that when oasis got into feuds, especially with blur, liam would start it with his typical act without noel knowing, and then noel would also then get dragged in making the problem turn out worse. this is a typical example
I've heard Noel also say Michael was INXS, in the mid 90s it was fashionable to knock INXS and the context of the original feud was not widely reported, now Noel and Liam say just as much nasty stuff about each other in the press, Liam recently on twitter addressed this saying for too long I've been getting the shit for what Noel said the the Brits about Hutchence, at the end of the day famous people arguing about shit is no different from regular people , yet people want take sides and barrack for people like a football team, Michael had made plans to leave Yates he'd had enough of the press and Paula/Geldof BS according to Kirk Pengilly - in essence he did, its sad because he didn't need to die to do that, Had he not died INXS would have had a major comeback around 2003 and probably be touring the worlds football stadiums again, in latin america and europe they were still a massive concert draw in 1997 , context is everything
His endorsement of Blair was hilarious then and is hilarious now. Shows how little the prat knows about anything other than stealing other people's music.
If you're unaware of what happened to Hutchence - look up autoerotic asphyxiation. My cuz was an arsehole to say what he did, but he's not responsible for Hutchence choking and wanking himself to death!

From someone who knew Paula and Michael before they met ....both on different paths ,one an opportunistic trophy collector and the other a visibly raw talent with a phenomenal future...Paula and Bob Geldof were the absolute reason for his death...and the introduction of extreme sexual and drug taking. He was initially naive coming into the "music business" but always remained the sweet caring and sensitive person he was. As an aside Bob Geldof was no Saint and enjoyed the same activities with Paula and others. The music industry is Babylonian...I know , I was there and have lived long enough to keep the truth and survive. Sex and drugs are part of the music industry's expense account. Not an intentional suicide !
Paula was his downhill spiral. She could do all she wanted after Michael’s dead to get somewhat of reputation back but she didn’t even deserve the interviews. She broke him, trapped him locked him up. He wanted to be free, he wanted to save his life - again
"Sir" Bob Geldof .... That's the first thing I thought ... just another ritual sacrifice at the hands of another turd associated with Saxe-Coburg-Gotha trash bags.
@Keith Alfred Anthony Donovan They seem to love hanging these people while they're drugged up and blaming it on autoerotic asphyxiation. Watching interviews with his widowed wife are extremely telling ... there's something about her demeanor that smells fishy to me. She seems to be performing for the interviewer/cameras.
Michael Hutchence had a accident which left him with a brain injury, stupidly he didn't go to hospital when he had the accident. The brain injury let him to being severely depressed which in turn took to taking lots of drink and drugs.
I think Hutchence died from pulling himself whilst choking himself behind a door.It didnt work.Thats one of the theories.Anyway Oasis are also long gone has beens
Yeh what podcast was that. id be very interested to hear that as I have never seen or heard of NG or LG even mention MH or INXS since the 96 shenanigans
Didn't the Big Breakfast interview with Paula Yates and Michael Hutchence happen in 1993? Also they first met in the 80's when she was working on The Tube
The Gallagher's were always jealous of Michael and his ability to attract women. In contrast, they were stupid and ugly and most people recognized that...including Michael. The more I read about Michael's life the more I think the head injury was the main catalyst in a downward spiral to his sad passing. Noel Gallagher could spend another 500 years on this planet and never be as cool and loved as our Mikey.
Fun that when I saw U2 Joshua Tree Tour back in 2019 in Australia. Noel was the support act. People were getting restless and Noel declared..." I suppose you are all waiting for U2? I'm a has been!" I laughed and thought of Hutchence incident and thought well deserved!!
Too bad Michael's long gone and would never hear that. Now this knobhead is a much worse has-been pushed into a reunion nobody asked for by a devastating divorce
I always thought I'd loved for Michael to lived and be given a lifetime achievement award and said "Hey Noel, funny how we all end up as has-beens aye?"
I've always thought "Who's Noel Gallagher? I remember the frontman of the greatest Australian rock band after AC/DC, but a two hit chump from Manchester?"
He had also suffered a severe TBI and had no sleep, for more than 24 or 36 hours. A tragic split decision, I believe he'd been toying with for some time. He seemed to fall apart during his Paula Yates time. Bob infers a tragic accident by that meaning as well. INXS were great! Live unbelievably good. AND his band was together 20 years. Oasis was not.
Me too. But they new they won’t do anything. You can tell. Because the people who would do that they don’t mouth off. The most Critical band of oasis even tho they were mates was the stone roses. But they wouldn’t ever say anything about them or they would get a leathering
Hello all. I'd just like to respond to the small handful of people who have objected to the title of this video. You might not be aware of it, but there ARE a hardcore of people out there who have, for many years, directly blamed Noel for the death of MH. I didn't just invent this topic... It was suggested to me by a viewer, I then researched it, found a fascinating backstory, and decided to do a feature on it. The title isn't meant to be offensive or disrespectful (and I don't think it is either of those things). Anyone who posts abusive, aggressive, angry stuff will simply be hidden from my channel and never thought of again, so do me a favour, and don't be a knobhead in the comments section. And thanks so much to the overwhelming majority of viewers who have enjoyed this video for what it is, been kind and supportive, and managed to watch it without losing their minds, going red in the face and foaming at the mouth. Ah, the joys of internet trolls... Take care, JH
I had just defended the title with the thought that this idea was not yours but had been around. If I had read further down and had seen your post I would have saved some typing :)
I enjoyed the video, however i dont think Michael could care less about Noel Gallagher, it certainly wasn't him who contributed to his death. He had a lot going on at the time when that fatefull day happened.
They got their comeuppance because that was about as well as they ever did in terms of how well they were received. It was all down hill from there pretty much for Oasis. The third album was panned and not many people liked it and the year they released it, it was eclipsed massively by Radioheads OK Computer and the Verve’s Urban Hymns as well as other offerings. People also realised what horrible arrogant tosspots they were after their drunken performance at the Brits. I still like some of their music but that Brits and Knebworth was as high as they ever flew. I wonder if Noel regrets the Blair remark now-surely he must.
@@mattdare8119 yeah. Be Here Now sucks hard, but you’re right on that. Thanks.this is really interesting. I was a big fan of INXS and believe Michael Hutchence to be one of the finest male singers in recent times and no it wasn't because he was good looking.I am quite confident in saying I never read anything detrimental that Michael had said publically about Oasis and have only ever read that he liked their music until 'Better than Oasis'popped into ' Elegantly Wasted' It probably was an element of jealous on Liams side and if the lovely Patsy wanted to snuggle up to Michael Hutchence, which she had every right to do by the way, then Liam should have been talking to her not having a go at Michael so thats a bit of a lame excuse on their part quite honestly. I've never thought it contributed to Michael's death but still think was mean spirited . I've never been an Oasis fan and this incident still makes me mad. However its really unfair of people to accuse Noel of contributing to Michael's death. Also Liam did a free gig in Kingston upon Hull a few years ago ,which was a nice thing to do and Noel isn't too keen on Harry Windsor, which is an opinion that I'm totally in sympathy with 😍 and so they have gone up a tiny bit in my estimation I think Michael's death was an accident and that he'd been struggling with the effects of his head injury sustained some years before, more than is generally realised. Thanks again.Have enjoyed this so much am going to subscribe to your channel 😀 😊
Michael Hutchence committed suicide. That autoerotic asphyxiation gone wrong angle turned out to be bullshit. Not an accident at all, definitely a tragedy though
When Noel was in Australia for maybe the acoustic tour with Gem, he was the guest on a cable show, choosing 10 music videos to be played - one of his choices was "Baby don't cry" by INXS. He also picked "New Sensation" by INXS when he guest-programmed music video show RAGE back in June 2021.
Goes to show that whether there was nefarious intent or not, that in fact this put down comment was not because he thought this band was a has been, but because he actually was in awe .
Dickheads probably mellowed, but someone should have knocked him out at the height of his arrogance, ego out of control, needed a reality check, the overrated git..

Hi James, great video. Just to add to your last point there was a Music Max interview Noel did in 2005-06 while on tour for DBTT in Australia wherein he picked the INXS song Baby Don’t Cry as part of compilation of 10 favourite songs. I’m not sure if the footage is online, but I tend to recall in his own sheepish way didn’t he didn’t talk directly to that selection during the programme.

I cannot stand either of the Gallagher brothers but I never once considered that Hutchence's death had anything to do with them. The Hutchence- Geldof phone call is well documented and has been known about for almost 25 years now.
Nah. It's because his estranged wife lost custody of the kids. Next it was that she didn't bring their shared daughter to be with him on Christmas. That was the trigger for the suicide. Post mortem autopsy showed he had 2 different trauma damage areas in his frontal frontal lobes, from the accident in Italy. He could no longer smell or taste. His personality was drastically changed. Lot of anxiety and depression.
Thanks for the research. I didn't know Michael Hutchence was such a mess near the end of his life. A real mess. A least someone like John Lennon (Liam's hero) had turned his life around which made his Lennon's death even more tragic.
Of course Noel isn't responsible for Michael's death. But what he said was just nasty and completely uncalled for. Michael died because he was depressed; brought on by the media and interviewers treating him like shit, the nasty head injury he had sustained years before and the court battle his partner was going through which stopped him seeing his daughter for Christmas. That bit pushed him over the edge x
Ha, Hutchence did not give a damn about a punk like Liam, having turned out Miss Patsy probably a few hundred times by then. Michael spent much of his youth in Hong Hong and was a kick boxer while Liam still can't win a fight. Good info though!
I'm so glad you made this video. I knew the back story and how Noel was defending his brother. But I have always been too lazy to get the evidence to back it up. This furthers my theory that with the exception of his musical taste. Noel reacts to people. I dont think I've seen an instances where he has instigated anything. Blur, Michael H, Liam, Bonehead etc. He is always reacting to something that a person or group has done. And it's never old stuff. I hate it when people go "he wrote dont look back in anger but that's all he does". No, noels issue with people is usually because of something they did within a couple of months if not weeks. The only thing is, he's just so much more brutal when he attacks. Which makes sense for a person with his background. And yes, as you mentioned once a certain line has been crossed he doesn't forgive. The only thing I disagree with is, you said it was uncharacteristic for him to stay quiet in his defense. But actually that's usually what he does. Look at the Tony situation. Yes, he has stayed firm on claiming Tony is a bad drummer but the other thing he always says and he said it in supersonic, is that he does not dispute anything Tony has said. If Tony said he was a c**t than he was a c**t. I dont remember the exact words but it was basically that. Anyways, my point is I think Noel is so use to being the scapegoat for so many things since he was little, that he usually kind of just takes the beating. This of course does not pertain to the times people attack his friends or family and that's when he does fire back hard. Its all very interesting.... I just rambled way too long. Sorry.
It's no secret the Gallaghers are jacka$$es. I mean this wasn't the only time they got into it with a band and of course they could barely stand each other. Hutchence had it all. I doubt the gave those boys a second thought.
It usually wouldn't have but Michael had received a brain injury from a serious hit & fall to the head in Copenhagen.in 1992.It affected his judgment & his emotions. This idiotic comment supposedly hurt him deeply. His end was brought about by the brain trauma, alcohol, drugs and the baggage of Paula's ex & stress from Paula's ex-husband.
At the end of this video: "it's too easy to jump to conclusions" People in the comments: "it was all Noel's fault!" He was sticking up for his brother, it was a fleeting moment. They're not football teams. Everyone just needs to have a good sit down.
That comment the young Noel fired at Hutchence was a dog act. Whether you like him or not. He should be ashamed. Thing is - in a couple months Oasis became has beens themselves. Further insult - NGs solo stuff now sounds like a poor mans INXS. One day karma will catch up to Noel for decades of being a prick.
Oasis could never make the music Blur did. Damon Albarn is a genius. Just look at Gorillaz! Oasis are a one trick pony and Noel Gallagher did write a few classics and I do have all their albums but in their heyday he and Liam were yobs and we’re often out of order as is well documented.
What about f*cking in the bushes and the importance of being idle? Oasis have range and mood. They’re an institution. And I say that not particularly being a fan of Noel. Blur are musically superior but their reunion would never have the level of appeal Oasis does

I find it odd that Hargreaves is unable to dig up what MH said to Gallagher via the press. If i t is out there, published, it should be very easy to find quotes.
I though Gallaghers comments were insensitive, cruel and very disrespectful. I've thought about this as being a factor, however, I think drugs, the situation with Geldof and the children and possibly depression were the main instigators. With suicide, you'll never know, in the absence of a note.

Awesome video, will definitely check out more of your channel! I’ve actually tried doing research on this myself but I could never find anything but the small tidbits on the wiki pages. I’m a fan of both INXS and Oasis (although I’m a much bigger Oasis fan, just more my taste) but the fact that this comment section is mostly people that either clearly didn’t watch the video or fans that only saw what they wanted to see is mind boggling. Despite what happened I don’t think you could call either has beens. INXS’s music is still great and the Gallaghers are still selling out stadiums in their solo careers while both are getting solid radio time. Noel is a great songwriter, Liam has made a huge comeback after losing his voice, and if tragedy didn’t strike, INXS probably would have come back better than ever
No drugs were found at the scene. I don't think Michael was in the mood for sexual gratification after an argument with Bob and being so depressed. Michael had just called Michele, his first girlfriend and was expecting her shortly as she lived close by so I don't think he'd be doing that just before she came either. Paula and Bob did not volunteer their phone records to police. Paula said she only rang once the morning he died but I think she would have wanted to know what Bob had said to Michael as he said he was going to beg him to allow the girls to come to Australia. They did not volunteer their phone records to police. Bob was smirking when later asked by reporters what he thought of Paual's claims that he had killed him indirectly. Constantine report states Michael had a broken hand, a cut lip and bruising on his arms. That Diamond matey has a lot to answer for, he said Michael died penniless, he had the control of Michael's assets and the personal artifacts, why keep personal photo's meant for Tiger locked away in a box all those years. He went to the police station and took everything Michael had on him that day except he left Michael's dad Kell, the belt! Apparently, he never turned up at his 'friends' funeral either. Noel Gallagher is not a pleasant man, I've had the misfortune of meeting him in the street briefly one night when he was out on his own. I'm disabled and he was abusive regarding that whilst I was alone and vulnerable. He thinks he is it. I have no time for the 'man.' Noel's comments and humiliation of Michael in front of a large audience and his peers did affect him. It couldn't have helped his state of mind. Michael and INXS wipe the floor with Oasis, he was right, he is better than Oasis. I'd not being biased because of my meeting with Noel, it's just a fact. Noel looks like he has special needs at that award show, just sayin.
Oh yeah and his manager Martha said Michael was saying he didn't give a fcuk anymore in one documentary and in the other she said he said he didn't give a sh1t anymore. One of the docu's was Mystify. Strange she wouldn't remember such an intense line with how she expressed and described how he said it. Was morning of his death. I wouldn't have forgotten something like that and I have memory problems.
Oasis never...ever....came anywhere near the talent level of INXS. INXS made hit after hit and were adored the world over for many years and still are. Oasis made mediocre music and was primarily popular only in the UK and they never had the staying power that INXS had/has.
The irony of this clip for me is that Noel is my favorite songwriter/musician of all time, and Hutch is my favorite vocalist/performer of all time, as Oasis and INXS are my two favorite bands of all time. As disrespectful as Noel’s comment was, this episode had everything to do with Michael’s relationship with Paula Yates and their scandalous portrayal in the sleazy British media at the time. As Bob Geldof referred to him, Michael was seen as a ‘neo junkie philanderer’, famous for being famous, rather than the gifted performer and sharp lyricist he actually was. As a side note, it was also reported that Liam and Michael had a scuffle backstage at the 1995 MTV Europe Music Awards, with Hutch throwing a fire extinguisher at Liam following some disparaging remarks he made about Paula. In the end, at least Hutch was able to fire back in the backing vocals of Elegantly Wasted: 🎶 I’m better than Oasis 🎵 😂
The public nature of this humiliation could have been a nail in the coffin. At any rate Noel now knows what it's like to wake up one day and find out you're no longer young or relevant. Perhaps in this he learned a bit of grace towards others ...
Great comment Deborah. Comments like Ng make to publicly humiliate become like a piece of embedded glass. Whatever the back story it was sheer spite from smug Ng. He looked stupid not MH.

Noel was such a knob for saying that at the Brits. He was off his face on Ecstasy at the time but it was so uncalled for. Hutchence was a sensitive soul but I still think it's a stretch accusing Noel of bodying Michael Hutchence, lol
13:52 I'm not sure if anyone else thinks this to but to me it looks like an awful lot like Noel was trying to block Guigsy from speaking into the microphone.
I get what you are saying, but I don’t agree entirely. For example, there have been too many tragic cases where young people committed suicide due to extreme bullying and other such harrowing experiences.
Yeah they are , he embarrassed him on national television in front of the whole industry. Don’t sit back in your normal life and say it’s not possible to influence or bully someone into suicide. Plain ignorance.
Gallagher showed no gratitude, humility, or class. He also hit a man while he was down. Michael was phenomenal, & his music is still relevant today. Jeeze even my kids love it. You just don't treat your fellow artist with such disrespect. Those that come before you pave the way. Legendary

Michael was suffering from depression, which along with his brain injury, drug use, family/career issues, ultimately led him to take his life. So tragic.
So you decide to take your life, and do it in the most embarrassing way possible? I don't think so.

Why do Noel and Liam have such toxic personalities? Who hurt them?? TBH I cannot imagine Hutchence saying anything disparaging about another band/artist without provocation. He seemed like a lover and supporter of all music and art, at least in the public eye. He was critical of politics and current events. Michael Hutchence was murdered by the cab driver that sucker punched him in Denmark in 1992. It just took him 5 years of misery to succumb.
Oh ok.
I thought it was drugs and a toxic relationship.

@@JamesHargreavesGuitar Eye opening indeed. Michael's tragic death was shocking. Your details of diving into the matters about ugly rift between 2 bands is telling. Hello from India.
He didn’t commit suicide it was a sex act gone wrong get ur facts straight
This part.
Hecklers are a fact of creative life.
I've been to gigs where fans threw stuff at bands they liked as well as ones they didn't tho ...

BUT
The press were up Oasis arse and Michael was constantly vilified after being with ‘Saint Bob’s” ex. But I agree, I do not think Oasis is the reason.
Michael had a life shattering altercation with paparazzi and Michael hit his head on the pavement so hard he suffered brain injury he took time to recover from and that caused him to lose his taste and smell and have severe bouts of debilitating depression.
I think it was Tim Farris ( INXS lead Guitarist) who commented “ Michael was popping Prozac like tictacs” which can cause a seratonin storm
much like a psychotic break and I feel that is what may have happened the night of his death, he seemed to be increasingly compelled to take life-gambling risks..in life, in health and sexually..but it’s impossible with all the drugs in his system to cherry pick the reason exactly.
Also remember Paula and Michael met on The Tube years before and attributed that meeting to their initial spark. It was PR the feud with blur, imagine thinking it was real🤣

@@claytoncourtney1309 Cheers CC. I've seriously never had any video attract this amount of trolls.... Crazy.
Wasn’t panned universally loved only years later it was panned
Be here now became the fastest selling album ever so don't think your right
@@mattdare8119 yeah. Be Here Now sucks hard, but you’re right on that. The album was lauded at the time as being Oasis’ masterpiece magnum opus and a landmark album in the history of music on par with fucking Sgt. Pepper. However, retrospective reception to the album has been more negative, and rightfully so IMO.
@@1001polly Ummmm. No, I don’t think it was. And even if it was, it was because they were so famous that they could’ve made a recording of them taking a shit and it would’ve charted on Billboard. I mean, an audio of the brother arguing literally charted at number 50. Besides, by that logic, Justin Bieber and The Spice Girls are good artists.

Thanks.this is really interesting. I was a big fan of INXS and believe Michael Hutchence to be one of the finest male singers in recent times and no it wasn't because he was good looking.I am quite confident in saying I never read anything detrimental that Michael had said publically about Oasis and have only ever read that he liked their music until 'Better than Oasis'popped into ' Elegantly Wasted'
It probably was an element of jealous on Liams side and if the lovely Patsy wanted to snuggle up to Michael Hutchence, which she had every right to do by the way, then Liam should have been talking to her not having a go at Michael so thats a bit of a lame excuse on their part quite honestly. I've never thought it contributed to Michael's death but still think was mean spirited .
I've never been an Oasis fan and this incident still makes me mad. However its really unfair of people to accuse Noel of contributing to Michael's death. Also Liam did a free gig in Kingston upon Hull a few years ago ,which was a nice thing to do and Noel isn't too keen on Harry Windsor, which is an opinion that I'm totally in sympathy with 😍 and so they have gone up a tiny bit in my estimation
I think Michael's death was an accident and that he'd been struggling with the effects of his head injury sustained some years before, more than is generally realised.
Really? Interesting ... a bit of remorse perhaps?
Goes to show that whether there was nefarious intent or not, that in fact this put down comment was not because he thought this band was a has been, but because he actually was in awe .
Dickheads probably mellowed, but someone should have knocked him out at the height of his arrogance, ego out of control, needed a reality check, the overrated git..
Oasis, what was it Jon Bon Jovi called them??A Beatles tribute band! Whilst Gallagher was calling them the biggest band in the world they did 2 gigs at Madison Square garden...... they were supporting U2, biggest band in the world being a support act????????

There’s an Oasis podcast interview with Nick Egan who directed 4 of the bands music videos. Nick says how he was a v close friend of Michael H & that Michael was devastated after the Brits incident as he was such a big Oasis fan
I agree. Michael had a vulnerability and sense of humility that few in his position have.
At the Brit Awards, after moron BIG MOUTH NOEL, remarked HAS BEENS, Michael could of reacted, but he kept his cool and dignity. Michael's legacy will live on. OASIS ARE HAS BEENS, ONLY LASTED IN THE 90'S. RIP MICHAEL HUTCHENCE 💖

Well presented and took me back to 95/96! Thank you sir

Really sad loss of a good bloke.Bono wrote the song "Stuck in a moment"about his good friend Michael. The lyrics say it all.Sod all to do with Oasis.
I think Noel has written some good tunes over the years, but that's only my opinion. 🇬🇧
Strangest thing is had Michael lived, Noel would probably have become a friend of Michael's through the Bono connection
@@HighlandMike325 quite possibly I suppose.

@@apollomemories7399 I just finished watching the INXS biopic Never Tear Us Apart, and the portrayal of Bono in Part 2 telling Michael that he didn't want to pick sides in the dispute between Geldof and Yates/Hutchence...... if that was a reasonably accurate account, then Bono definitely chose a side, and based on what happened later, I'd say he chose poorly.
Oasis and Tony Blair, two of the worst things about the nineties. Only missing 'Man Utd' for the hat trick of dire nineties things. But wait.. Bob Geldof. Another utter bellend.

At least Hutchence will always be remembered as a beautiful young man whose flame burnt too brightly and not a bitter, bloated, old Manc has been.
yup
She met him 10 years earlier and was always infatuated with him…who was not!!!!!!!
Noel was in a pop band rivalled with blur! INXS were rock through and through with no rivalries!
Oasis sold tens of millions of albums worldwide and sold out stadiums all over the world 😂 INXS did clubs lmao 🤣 I get it you hate Oasis but let's not pretend INXS were anywhere near them in popularity ha ha ha

John had indeed been living as a house-husband for 5 years before his tragic, pointless murder.
At least INXS had a bit of originality about them, unlike Oasis who were a Rutles tribute band at best.
😂
Of course Noel isn't responsible for Michael's death. But what he said was just nasty and completely uncalled for.
Michael died because he was depressed; brought on by the media and interviewers treating him like shit, the nasty head injury he had sustained years before and the court battle his partner was going through which stopped him seeing his daughter for Christmas. That bit pushed him over the edge x
i just found this channel and i am overjoyed! such interesting topics, amazing delivery, and cool accent! lol
I have no idea who Oasis is or what music they have done. But I'll never forget Michael Hutchins or all of the INXS music that I still listen to
@Christopher Osorno Oasis= Nauseating bland Brit pop. INXS = Hypnotic catchy timeless Rock ahead of its time, you ain’t missed much..
@Christopher Osorno INXS Biopic was done years ago
@Christopher Osorno Not a fan of either band tbh
I'm with you . This story doesn't inspire me to investigate Oasis music.
They’ve done a lot more than inxs.
Ha, Hutchence did not give a damn about a punk like Liam, having turned out Miss Patsy probably a few hundred times by then. Michael spent much of his youth in Hong Hong and was a kick boxer while Liam still can't win a fight. Good info though!
It was Noel who made those deprecating remarks no Liam
Sorry.

Noel is a pumk who insults everyone
Let alone give back their awards ..the Gallaghers ought to give back all the oxygen they've been thieving for decades
It's no secret the Gallaghers are jacka$$es. I mean this wasn't the only time they got into it with a band and of course they could barely stand each other. Hutchence had it all. I doubt the gave those boys a second thought.
It usually wouldn't have but
Michael had received a brain injury from a serious hit & fall to the head in Copenhagen.in 1992.It affected his judgment & his emotions. This idiotic comment supposedly hurt him deeply. His end was brought about by the brain trauma, alcohol, drugs and the baggage of Paula's ex & stress from Paula's ex-husband.
At the end of this video: "it's too easy to jump to conclusions"
People in the comments: "it was all Noel's fault!"
He was sticking up for his brother, it was a fleeting moment.
He'll never be more of a prick than having class A drugs within arms reach of his kids. That's a different level of prick right there.
Your channel is so interesting!! Loving it
Oasis could never make the music Blur did.
Blur are musically superior but their reunion would never have the level of appeal Oasis does
@@AlphonseWeebay oasis albums are patchy after the first two but they are a great sounding rock band. Blur on the other hand are defined by Graham Coxons guitar playing.
I find it odd that Hargreaves is unable to dig up what MH said to Gallagher via the press. If i t is out there, published, it should be very easy to find quotes.
I just wasted ~15 mins to learn that Noel and Liam, musical geniuses as they may be, are quite petty and childish
What did you do for the other 5 and half minutes?
Neither of them are anywhere being near or being genius, they’re good but definitely maybe not genius
Hardly geniuses, INXs music is more ahead of its time than their nauseating pop, Andrew Farriss is the genius..

I have no time for the 'man.'
Noel's comments and humiliation of Michael in front of a large audience and his peers did affect him.
So they say.
Noel's cruel and totally uncalled for comment definitely did not help Michael's overall mood
The public nature of this humiliation could have been a nail in the coffin. At any rate Noel now knows what it's like to wake up one day and find out you're no longer young or relevant. Perhaps in this he learned a bit of grace towards others ...
