In 'Expend4bles', when they were getting off the plane towards the beginning, I swear for a minute it turned into a full on cartoon
The ending where they get back to the boat to escape the bomb. A specific wide shot is truly horrendous. One of the worst scenes SFX wise I’ve ever seen
Expendables 2 is my personal favourite. I liked that it was more self aware and a bit more fun than the first film, but it is still a dark and violent film
The Expendables was basically the Avengers before the Avengers. I had never seen a movie where they put so many A-listers together, that was also the novelty of it and very awesome!
What A listers? Lol terry crews, dolph lungren, randy orten? At that time statham was B list as well. Now oceans 11, 12, 13 had A listers galore

The only A list action stars currently are Statham and Liam Neeson. Let that sink in. And a dramatic actor doing an occasional action movie doesn’t make them an action star. Action has to be their primary genre

The Avengers exist LONG before the Expendables.
I really like Expendables 1-3 but at the same time I would also put Triple threat above them.

For the longest time, the 2nd was my favorite because of Stallone, Willis, Schwarzenegger, Norris vs Van-Damme & Scott Adkins at th end but after just rewatching Id say the first tops the list now for me.
The bad guy trio of Eric Roberts, Steve Austin, & Gary Daniels is so so great!

1: The Expendables 2.
Bigger and better!
The Expendables 2 does exactly what it says on the tin and that is: bigger names, bigger guns, bigger muscles, bigger explosions and bigger laughs!
The Expendables 1 was an earnest attempt to build a nostalgic love letter to a particular style of cinema.
The Expendables 2 is the actual love letter to that style!
2: The Expendables.
On paper, the casting seemed impossible with all of the egos involved, but writer-director-star Sylvester Stallone performed an amazing move and was able to fulfil our wildest "what if so-and-so fought so-and-so" manly dreams!
Put all of the past action heroes names above the title on one poster and the film sells itself…
Throw in guns and a skull and you've got a destined winner!
3: The Expendables 3.
The Expendables 3 lacks the fun, the excitement, and the charm that the franchise built itself on.
The action isn’t good enough this time around to save the film from it’s clunky and paper-thin plot.
And while some of the old guys are a lot of fun, namely Mel Gibson and Antonio Banderas, too many characters are shortchanged thanks to the introduction of a dull younger crew!
4: The Expendables 4.

ExpendFourBalls resembles a rundown car running on fumes and sputtering out it’s last gasps as it slows to a crawl and a sad stop…
This sequel isn’t even an entertaining car crash! (If there is such a thing?)
It’s just a poorly made, incoherent piece of cinematic junk.
With the series running on fumes at this point, it’s time to blow it up!

Can you review dumb money?
Expend4bles was a series of extremely bad ideas woven together with some of the most terrible CGI and green screen effects in recent times which makes 1h48m feel like a decade. I did have a good nap though. The best part was that I didn't even miss any plotlines when I woke up.

You put 4 in the middle of a word in your movie title and you know it’s gonna be a shit show

The idea behind the franchise is great but the execution is so sloppy. Imagine how much better these films would be if they had legitimately competent action directors instead of these C list journeyman directors.
At least some one liners are good. “Your life. I was thinking about taking it.”

I've only seen 1-3 and my least favorite is actually 1. Usually, 2 is ranked the best. It goes 2, 1, 3. But I'll go 3, 2, and 1. I love 3. Kelsey Grammer was hilarious in it.
Yeah he was the best part of the movie for me the Expendables 3 would have been the best Expendables movie if it was rated r and didn't have the youngsters and more screen time for Antonio bendaris and Wesley snipes who also stole the show

I always had fondness for Expendables 3. Okay, fine.... Yes, it was PG13, but I just loved the action, the stacked cast, and even the younger immature Expendables. Mel Gibson, I think makes a great villain, but ... Not quite as good as Jean-Claude Van Damme in Expendables 2, but still a great villain, and I was really excited for Expend4bles, then I saw it, and it massively disappointed me, but I still enjoyed it. The fact that Stallone is barely in the movie did bother me, but I liked the new additions, like Megan Fox and 50 Cent. Likewise, almost none of the original cast returned besides Statham, Stallone, Lundgren, and Couture, which did bother me. Also, the CGI, editing and the tone are all over the place, but I stilled enjoyed the film, but it is still the worst Expendables film. One thing I did like was that Stallone said that this would be his final Expendables film, and that he is passing the baton to Statham, who will become the new leader, and you can really see that in the movie, as Statham is much more the lead than Stallone.
My ranking. First I enjoy every expendables movie. I have fun from all of them.
4- expendables 3 8/10 ( very fun action, funny moments, the cast is great as always, Mel Gibson plays a great villain but I don’t care about ANY of the new members and the movie spends way too much time introducing them, Antonio Bandera’s character is kinda funny but gets very very cringe and annoying quickly and very strange choice to pick him up as comic relief. And EASILY the BIGGEST problem of this movie is the rating. The PG-13 rating really really hurt this movie, I think the action is awesome but the lack of violence is unacceptable and doesn’t make sense, it should’ve been much more brutal. overall really enjoyable movie.
3- expendables 4 7,5/10 (technically speaking it’s the worst out the 4 but I think it’s a bit more fun and SLIGHTLY better than 3. Luckily it doesn’t make the same mistake of PG-13 and it’s rated R. It has the worst plot and the worst villain in the series, I know we don’t watch these movies for the story but here it went too far, I liked the twist of the villain but himself and his motivations are extremely generic !!! The dialogue is by far the worst in the series, and the explanation of how Barney Ross survived (which was predictable) is extremely nonsense even for expendables, the CGI is highly noticeable and you can constantly see the blue screen in the background BUT I still found a lot of enjoyment with this one, Jason Statham as Lee Christmas is the leader and he’s awesome, Megan fox doesn’t bother me but she shouldn’t be there and I liked the addition of 50 cent despite he should’ve been more present lol. I like the brutality in this movie. I enjoy 4, not an abomination everybody made it out to be.)
2- expendables 1 9/10 (amazing concept, bringing these action stars together, really enjoyable movie, fun and funny one-liners, good villain, just ok and I like the action. The only things that hold this movie back for me, I like the action but there’s way too much shaky cam and fast cut editing that makes some parts hard to understand and this is unacceptable when it comes to Sylvester Stallone who is an action star and knows how to direct action and some CGI blood that is kinda distracting but aside that great movie, one of my fav action movies ever)
1- expendables 2 10/10 (easily the best, it took everything that worked in the 1st and made it better, it probably has the best villain of the series played by Jean Claude, the one-liners are by far the best in the franchise especially Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger saying “I’ll be back” and “yippee ki-yay” or Arnold and terry crew referencing the terminator. That’s hilarious!! The action is much better directed and edited, here you can understand what’s going on, the action is pretty amazing with almost no shaky cam and good editing. Really enjoyable and memorable moments.) I love this franchise. The villains from 2 and 3 are by far the best. I think they’re all enjoyable action movies, 3 and 4 get wayyyyy too much hate. I’d like to see 5 one day but 4 was a massive box office bomb. Love these movies.
Personally this probably just me I Love Expendables 1, 2, & 4 there my Favorites in the Franchise, There Some Of my Favorites Of Stallone & Statham, I like Expendables 3 it’s ok, I don’t hate it Like Most people, But it’s not a great movie IMO

I think you need to rewatch The Expendables 2 again, it’s CLEARLY the best of this franchise
Expendables 3 is easily the worse crap CGI very little action sequences, and very little star power, and way too long.
Expendables 4: at least had some fun Jaa, Statham, and Uwais moments to make up for the terrible CGI, and bland action surrounding it.
Expendables: the movie i loved when i first saw it but with each watch it gets more and more frustrating with how much the screw up the action sequences
Expendables 2: easily everything you would want from the Expendables movies with some moments that hurt it here and there

I just watch expendables four and didn’t really care for it I think the one with Michael Rourke was good and I’m not sure if that was the end expendables three but that was the best one I believe
As a point of reference, I watched all of these movies over the last two weeks. These are my updated thoughts on all of his films.
4. Expend4bles-A very lame addition to the franchise that completely loses the concept and appeal of these movies by having bad ideas, a klucky story, the worst cast of expendables, and lackluster action setpieces, which makes for the worst film in this franchise by a landslide
3. The Expendables 3-It’s still a fairly enjoyable action film that has enough in it to make for a satisfying experience, but the PG-13 rating and the fact that there are so many big stars that none of the stars get the time in the spotlight they deserve
2. The Expendables 2-A solid sequel that knows who its audience is and what they’re looking for, which makes for humor that lands, charismatic action stars being charismatic action stars, and very well handled action sequences
1. The Expendables-Even though this movie isn’t reinventing the wheel for action cinema, it’s a very enjoyable throwback action film that delivers the heart and soul of 80’s and 90’s action films, and with novelty of all of these action stars teaming up in one film

I still think the second one is the best one. I think 3 is the worst one, but 4 I felt was not even that good. I already knew it was going to be bad anyway. The 1st one was decent, but not great.
I agree part 4 was not good, except for the scene with Megan fox & she pushes his head downtown
IMO I Love Expendables 4, Great Action, Well Written, I thought Jason Statham, Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, & Andy Garcia did a Great Job, Very Funny At Times too, It doesn’t deserve the hate IMO, the only thing I don’t like is 50 Cent & Megan Fox can’t act IMO & didn’t need be in it, & they didn’t explain things that have after the 3rd film, but still love the movie

I enoy all 3 original Expendables movies pretty much on the same level. If I had to choose, may favorite movie would be The Expendables 3 (2014). I just like how they deliver everything, old or new or both together at the end! Interesting thing about The Expendables 2 (2012), the filmmakers decided to integrate a chinese actress into the story! Why? Probably because of money! That strategy even predates Transfomers 4: Age of Extinction and many movies of the latter half of the 2010s. Because in 2012 that was more of a rarity! Bye the way, the actress did fine (maybe more so when she had to fight)

Even though I Love Expendables 1, 2, & 4 there my Favorites in franchise, I’d say I Like 1 & 2 the Best Cause I watched them the most Cause I Love The Action, The Cast Stallone, Statham, Willis, Schwarzenegger, Rourke, Steve Austin, Lundgren, Jet Li, Terry Crews, Van Damme, Randy Couture, Eric Roberts, & Chuck Norris did a Great Job, Great Fight Scenes, Likable Characters, & Love the Actors too

I was only making a joke which may have come off a bit cheesy but it was not controversial nor was it ever meant to hurt anyone which I find quite absurd and concerning that one would get so offended that they’d have to attack someone over it.

Its kind of weird the hate for the new Expendables outside of the 2nd one the CGI was terrible, the story was extremely generic, and the action was very disappointing as far has Expend4bles go its the same level of disappointment you would expect from Expendables where there is some fun moments and CGI that is downright distracting.
Expendable 3 was my fav, because antonio banderas carry the movie and I love the concept of passing the touch to the next generation and than seeing how the old and new generation approach the enemy with each of their own unique strenght and accepting each other.
This 4th was the worse

I think the unrated cuts of both 1 and 3 improved in the both action and characterization, particularly the first one. Two for me is good, but I think it was simply too tongue in cheek for its own good. For me, many of those quips felt forced and Chuck Norris telling a Chuck Norris joke was too on the nose. If he had reacted to someone else telling that joke instead, I feel that would’ve been perfect. But I also share most of those criticisms about 2, along with I feel that the action was a little too polished.
I didn't even know there was an unrated edition of the 3rd film that's awesome
@@itzbp9949 There are some brief bits of character exploration in it and some of the violence is more hard-hitting (yet still mostly devoid of blood) I also will say that I feel that the final showdown felt better executed. It’s about six minutes extra, but I’d rather have those particular six minutes.
I enjoyed the theatrical cut when I saw it but that does sound like it makes it better with those little added bits

I just saw Expend4bles.......I watched it for what it was as an Expendables fan following the franchise after seeing the cast and sly rollin out I knew this was actually " A Christmas Story "....... they should've just called it that or another title but they should've let it b known its a spinoff....as a Statham fan I was ok with it the action was good Statham dof his thing but this cast was weak as hell I wish sly would've directed the whole franchise cause the plot was dumb as hell the newbies was useless except for Tony jaa he should've been in this alot more......
Expendables 3 sucked wit the pg 13 rating and focusing on the newbies nobody including Hollywood cared about

4. The Expend4bles - haven’t seen it but what I’ve heard is not what I want.
3. The Expendables - I still love this movie but the action is a bit hard to see at times and the villains are just not it.
2. The Expendables 3 - This is not a better movie than the first BUT it is superficially more entertaining. I have a huge problem with under use of the original team but it’s dumb fun. Also best villain just because it’s Mel Gibson.
1. The Expendables 2 - Best action, best set pieces, and best usage of characters. I love that Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger get to have their moment and actually be in the movie. The villain is better than the first but story-wise is tied with 3’s villain but 3’s villain is Mel Gibson so… yeah.
The first film didn’t feel like anything. You get the team in the beginning but they don’t do anything in the middle and just show up at the end. I’m just not a fan of this franchise
I like the first 3 films, I give them a 8/10, gonna see the 4th film today but I’ll think for myself about it, but it looks like such a downgrade.
