I just got the VMV A1 and I'm using them with Tannoy Revolution DC6 and it's an amazing combination. Listen to the piano on the Company soundtrack , Being Alive
After your review I decided to give this little amp a try, wow ! . I have tried it with the Smsl su 9, topping E30, and Cambridge audio dac magic, but the chord mojo was the best fit for me. It drives my Revel m126 be speakers the best I have ever driven them, and I have a naim and Cyrus amp. I only get to 5 on the volume when late night listening. 15 watts is crazy loud, when you are dealing with class A. What will Smsl come up with over the next couple of years ?.
Thanks for this review. Listenign at low volumen is my main interest. Now using a Reisong A10 wich is a Class A tube amplifier with only 6W. I sold my Naim XS because low volumen only listen to bass. I miss some attack from Naim but the richness of the Raisong is more for me. Does this little amp (A1) have enougth attack but giving the richness of class a at low volumen? My speakers are BW706S2
Hi DP, I'm after some guidance. I've got a pair burchard s400 s and using a new Denon AVR, in your opinion will a quality amplifier change the sound much or any . Cheers Paul
It can, but if you don’t like the sound of your speakers now, don’t expect it to change. You can gain some layering to the sound stage as well as dynamics depending on what you’re coming from.
On paper the Solo Music is superior. But to be perfectly fair I would have to compare them side by side in the same room with the same speakers cables songs and volumes
👍🏼 Thanks a lot !!!

Please try it ! Otherwise we would have to guess. With my speakers and streamer its attack was entertaining so I enjoyed it a lot

If you had to choose between the Yamaha WXA-50 and the Arcam Solo, which one would you pick?
Arcam Solo Music MK2 without any hint of a doubt
I have the Tannoy xt8f paired with arcam alpha 10 pre and power amp.Thinking of pairing the speakers with smsl a1.What do you think of this pairing
With the XT-8F give the Roksan K3 a chance
Can you please give a detail review of smsl A1 about high mid and low.

Would the SMSL be a good match with Dali Rubicon 2 at 87 db ?
Unfortunately I can’t tell. I‘ld have to guess but that wouldn’t be a mature recommendation
What speakers do you recommend with Arcam solo music please
Focal Aria !!!
How do you find Arcam Solo vs Solo Music?

It's not a pure Class A
You are right.
