Freeman was a monster - reliable, clutch and good God - this catch and run. I got to meet him once in Green Bay. One of my favorite pictures ever.
"Do you believe in miracles?" "He did what? " Al Michaels always knows just what to say.
"I think we're having an earth..." cuts to static
My favorite quote
He did what
Throughout the Favre and Rodgers' eras, the Packer have always been blessed with excellent receivers. People tend to forget just how clutch and tough Antonio Freeman actually was.
This is the number 1 catch of all time idc what anyone says. I've never seen anything like it and it is burned into my memory from my childhood.
Same man. I saw it live and it was insane then and equally as insane now
4th and 18
It's a hell of a catch, and all the reactions to it make it even better. I'm so annoyed they didn't have the ref laughing in disbelief after the play was over in this segment, it's such an amazing shot.
My favorite Al Michaels call
Underrated.
nah dude. just right
Have players react to this, or at least athletes/writers. Bad comedians who don't even know football have no place here.
Thank you!!
um, no. unless you want dull reactions.
How is this number 7. Should be number one
I still can't grasp this not being one. It's insane. One single person's entire situational awareness as they're almost being tackled, but if you can react in a half second...oh...
I remember watching this game and screaming at the TV “he’s got it, he’s got it”. Awesome moment
Not a Packers fan, but this will always be one of my all time favorites.
Both the television broadcast and the Packers radio broadcast called it incomplete when opposing player misses the interception. I think the reason why is because the Packer home color jersey blends in with the color of the field. Put a Packer white away jersey on Freeman and it would have been easier to see him catching the ball.
Yeah, this needs to be higher. I'm not sure how that ball didn't hit the turf, but thankfully Antonio didn't let it.
HE DID WHAT?
Ha! I've known Antonio "Buttons" Freeman for a looong time and when I say this dude is 1 of the MOST determined people I know! Growing up in his hood clearly prepared him for this moment IMO bcuz he had the clear presence of mind to fake it til he made it JUST in case, not even caring if it was not ruled an official catch. And LOOK at GOD! His level of determination is crazy, but it had to be just to make it out and provide a better life for his family; and he DID that. I understand his endzone tears bcuz I know where he comes from, and I know the sacrifices he's made to get to where he stands now...having made 1 of the greatest catches of all TIME in NFL HISTORY! Fkn AMAZING! I'm truly proud of you Buddy Roll! You did good Boi! (BTW I also saw him make an almost identical catch at a Pro Bowl Flag game NO BS! circa hmmm 1998)- Mawa 💜
As a Bears fan, this is one of the few times I give a Packers player credit without feeling bad about it. 😂
The real number 1
Exactly
I remember watching that live as a kid insane focus has to be on top 100 plays
This is better than obj's
Best 10's this one was nearly all luck OBJs was more skill based
It sure is
This should have been an INT by Dishman
Not great catch only great play
A lot of luck went into that play.
And no one mentioned that it was raining too!!
Actually freaking poring out!!
Better than OBJ, unbelievable! Go Pack Go! Plus this won the game when the Giants lost when Dallas came back from 28-3.
GreenBayPayton GoPackGo
GreenBayPayton False. ODB's catch was pure skill. Freeman's was flat out luck
Peezster pure glove
Just before Freeman gets up off the ground he motions toward a ref as if to confirm if it was really a catch. I always wished they got a reaction shot of that ref. I wonder if he actually nodded or something or if that Freeman just understood that no whistle meant it was a live play.
We were at that game
He Did What!, by the best call of Al Michaels.
All I can think of Tyreek Hill got an Antonio Freeman moment but didn't know at the last minute between the chief and broncos Sunday night game 2020
as a vikings fan chris Dishmans name still gives me flashbacks
That was gym-class hero type stuff. The pros are too smart to do something that wacky, but I know we've all had that schoolyard tryhard absolutely throw 110% of everything after that ball in a way that leaves everyone speechless.
He did what
Who is that #7brunette, she got it GOIN ON
Yes sir! I was thinking the same thing.
on Monday night, with Brett Favre and against the freaking ViQueens. I Can't love this enough It was so beautiful that night was awesome! #GoPackGo
HE DID WHAT???
also I love how the refs didn't blow the play dead
I think the refs were too surprised to react and blow their whistle. I remember seeing a shot of the head referee shaking his head and laughing in disbelief at the play.
I mean the ref they showed that was laughing was probably just ecstatic that he knew he witnessed such a historic play in person since it's quite unlikely to happen, but when you're there and witness it it makes you feel euphoric. They didn't whistle it dead because they had to have had their eye on the ball seeing it go off the shoulder into Freeman's hands you'd just be like wow, nice catch.
They have to add the Edelman catch
Justin jefferson's catch against Buffalo has to be top 5 now
song at 1:09?
Antonio Freeman does not get the respect he deserves.
Where's Shannon Sharpes catch as a raven vs Broncos in the playoffs
What that last clown said in the end was completely unnecessary.
Regardless of the profession,or the person,
people ALWAYS try to find another way to bash Christianity.
Like, c'mon, bruh.
Oh my goodness, and they have "The Catch" the most underwhelming play on this list at number 2???? TWO?? And this is 7??? What? Bro im out, yall niggas trippin
I have his jersey 😊
WHADDATHEYGUNNARULE!?!?! THAT HE CAUGHT IT???!!!!?????
I wish Paul Allen with commentating at that time
Freeman's was better than Kearse's Catch
Donald driver!
Dez didn't catch it
Dennis Miller was the WORST Color Commentator in MNF history
Did you forget about Tony Kornheiser?
The best part: the refs let the play continue
Man you guys are so full of yourselves.
Proverbs 15:25
The LORD will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow.
